Just watched a Queen concert from 1986 and note how good looking Brian May is even now. Always thought Sean Connery has aged well too.
Michael Douglas was good looking when younger but looks a bit scary now. His dad Kirk was handsome when younger but really went weird looking when he was old.
Who do you think has aged well?

Here’s a pic of Helen Mirren looking like a lot of 77 year olds before the makeup experts work their magic.

Barry Gibb last year, aged 77

That picture isn’t Barry Gibb at 76!

I used to think he was gorgeous in about 1968, not now I’m afraid.

Sorry Barry.

I'm thinking Barry Gibb is looking so handsome at 76. Wow!

I saw Tom Jones in concert about 18 months ago when he was about 81 and he was fantastic. The voice is still there. Of course, he didn't wiggle his hips nor did anyone throw their knickers st him but he was just amazing!

Everyone here is cackling over how good they look or how awful they look. Listen, Chicas… we all have two looks - our early morning wake-up face and our afternoon go-to-meeting face. Big differences. We’re all in the same boat.

Love who you are and just keep smiling, that’s the most beautiful look of all.

Richard Gete although I’ve not seen him lately 😁

I think both Judi Dench and Joanna Lumley look great for their age.

Same here! www.instagram.com/p/C1odo92N_VV/ I'm 58 but could pass as a lot older!

You’re not wrong!!!

I thought I looked really good for my age - until I got my cataracts done. What a shock! Where did all the those wrinkles come from. Life wasn't so scary in soft focus.

I am more upset about my voice. I love going to choir but my voice has become quavery, though my latest health test says I have excellent lung function.

I agree about Martin Kemp.

Me....🙏 68 my mum and gran were same..no wrinkles, good genes I think. Rarely use moisturiser and had no work done, nor ever will have.....

I know I do not look to be inmy 90th year because friends tell me so. However I am mortified to tell you I embarrass myself by mentioning thatI will be 90
this year! My sister died 2 days before her 90th birthday and that really upset me. I so wanted her to get there. I confess I love to see the look on some peoples faces whenI tell thrm that I am nearly 90. but I do wish i didnt want to tell the world my age!

BlueBelle Fri 05-Jan-24 13:05:40

Sparklefizz so do I I think Sharon Osbourne looks dreadful as does her husband

Sennelier1 Fri 05-Jan-24 13:04:49

I think Rod Steward seems not to age at all - saw him with Jools Holland in Hootenanny. Not that I want to look like do-you-think-I'm-sexy Rod, but still admit he has good genes 😅 Me? I'm 65 and often get complimented I look younger. Not sure if that's true but I feel good, am healthy and happy, and I think that shows 😊

Supergran1946 Fri 05-Jan-24 12:57:51

Judi Dench looks great and has retained a wonderful, mischievous sense of humour

I thought this thread was mainly about appearance. I think aging well means still looking attractive and embracing wrinkles, grey hair or other changes. It also means not being too thin (eg Sharon Osborn) or overweight. Clint Eastwood is another formerly very handsome man who now is hard to look at, IMO.

Desdemona Fri 05-Jan-24 12:43:44

Ageing well (to me) means you are happy in your own skin, can move about a bit, and still have joy in your life sometimes.

I don't give a monkey's what I look like!

I speak as someone who has aged a lot in the past few years. Until I was in my mid sixties I was always told that I looked much younger, but am not overly bothered to be looking my age now.

cc Fri 05-Jan-24 12:37:58

I saw a recent film with Meryl Streep and Robert Redford, both in their 80's I think, and she looked pretty good though he was a bit crumpled - but so what? Does it matter?
I suppose it depends what you mean by aging well, I would prefer to see somebody looking human to somebody obviously filled, stretched and botoxed into a terrifying caricature of the person they used to be.

Sharon Osborne has had work, but it seems to suit her!

Gosh! I totally disagree. shock

I always get told I don’t look no where near my age I can’t see it my self lol I think I look old my youngest son mil is 10yrs older than me but she looks old but she is a heavy smoker and drinks every night. I also don’t get these glow in dark teeth or sticking needles in your face to look like a plastic doll. I know each to their own but they don’t know what the long term effects are going to be. I did see on news reports that they said younger generations are aging with it so it looks like it’s going to have affects opposite to what they aiming for.

Grand2dogs Fri 05-Jan-24 12:16:44

As I have got older I have found that women have got more attractive as they get older, not just physically but also mentally, also older females I find have more mystique and more stimulating in conversation, this is just my opinion as a male and I don’t know if this works the other way round. I hope so.

I have lots of facial scars having been in a very severe car crash in my 30ish. They all now look like deep wrinkles so has made me age prematurely. People always think I am much older than I'm and do not hesitate to show me their surprise either.
