Adult children going back home after holidays

This probably sounds daft. My daughter left home quite a few years ago and is doing well in her life. She lives two plane trips away from me. Has been with me since just before Xmas and is due to fly home 5 January. Why do I get so upset about her leaving? She is a grown woman. I hate goodbyes at airports so I am thinking that her dad could see her off. I miss her for a few days and then just carry on with life. Why are goodbyes so damn tough

You get upset because you are her Mum. We nurture them and worry and then they grow up and get big and lead the lives we wanted them to have and be the people we wanted them to be. No one tells you that you don't stop worrying and I think this is part of older parents telling younger parents 'they wont be little forever' because although we know how hard it is, we also know how much we miss it all being our world.

Try to be kinder to yourself flowers you've got a lovely daughter who wants to spend Christmas with you x
