Good Morning Everyone,
A dark, dry start here in brackley but looks cloudy above .
Today , my usual routine of going to Bicester on the bus , despite cold air will just have a couple hours , originally was going to return via Buckingham but weather may dictate .
Take Care,
Mick

MD wasn't very well first thing and felt low. Didn't want to moan.
Doing nothing today.
Thank you for your concern

👋 RosiesMaw!

Urmstongran Tue 09-Jan-24 13:24:42

I’m enjoying chatting ‘out of hours’. 😁. Glad to hear MD is on other threads Jax. Yes I’ve heard of this 100 day cough Pittcity. I’m hoping for a discount.

RosiesMaw Tue 09-Jan-24 13:22:21

I’m here miss!
Good afternoon all from cold and sunny N Bucks. Clear blue sky but brrrr! Even colder than Baltic - Arctic!
Solar panels display flashing away to show they are using the sunshine so I’ve got the washing machine on full blast.
Feel a bit rough though because I only fell asleep about the same time as some of you earlybirds seem to wake or get up!
With kind thoughts to all in pain, sadness or distress, 💐💐

MD has been on other threads Urmstongran Miss!
What a positive morning Optomistic 👏👏

Pittcity Tue 09-Jan-24 13:04:05

Urms our surgery is calling it the hundred day cough. They rule out infection and anything sinister then send you home to let the virus take its course. Loads of people coughing around here.

Urmstongran Tue 09-Jan-24 13:01:33

Erm I’m the register monitor today and have noted absences for Marydoll and RosiesMaw. Hope all’s okay ladies.

5* service Optomistic! Excellent.

Urmstongran Tue 09-Jan-24 12:56:21

GP not called back yet perhaps I’ll have some blueberries in the meantime merlotgran! 😁
We’ve just come back up from the square - Himself (a savvy shopper) suggested we go into Iceland ‘because it’s Tuesday’.
10% off for us oldies apparently. Just saved £3 quite effortlessly. I think all of GN were in there …

Good early afternoon from a lovely sunny but cold Cheshire. I had an early start today as had an appointment at my local hospital with both the physio and then shoulder consultant.

Managed to park which is always a miracle and saw the physio first who has now discharged me which is good. Then saw the lovely consultant ( appointment 9.15 and seen and 9.30 so happy with that as well) who is pleased with my progress and has given me an open appointment for the next 6 months so I can go back and see her if I have any problems so that’s good news.

Have a good day everyone

merlotgran Tue 09-Jan-24 11:18:43

Good morning everyone from a sunny but cold south coast.
My day has got off to a bad start with a flat battery. I have Home Start so I’m waiting for them but I’m cross because I went to Halfords to get the battery tested before Christmas as it was sounding sluggish but after testing it they said it was fine and I just needed to give the car longer runs!! I should have trusted my instincts and insisted they replace it!😡 I’ve messaged the friends I was supposed to be meeting but I keep getting replies saying, ‘We’re here now!’ 🫢

Hope your cough improves soon, Urms I had a similar one at the end of the summer and contacted the surgery after it had dragged on for weeks. The advice was to eat more blueberries! 😂 I couldn’t believe my ears!

Hope everyone has the best day possible. Keep warm!

Good morning from a sunny and frosty East Midlands. Lovely day for a nice walk.

hollysteers Tue 09-Jan-24 11:02:11

Good morning Mick and all from a cold Sunnyside northwest .
Pleased to have sorted clutter yesterday and finally and hopefully there will be a bin collection today.

Singing at Music club this afternoon so will make an effort to look human, i.e. dress up a bit (Carmen) flower for hair🌺
This cold weather has made me very slothful.

Glad you are putting some weight back on Mick and thoughts to all with troubles.

Grandmachrisy47 Tue 09-Jan-24 10:51:05

Late this morning. Cold and dry here in Co Durham. For once the NE seems to be faring better than the south, weather wise.
Dgd and dogs arrived at 8.15 for walk to school then off to hairdressers.
So much sadness on here today. Thinking of you all.
Safe travels to those out and about. Enjoy your day.

Good morning from Glasgow. Sunshine and no frost, a much better start to the day.

A visit to the dump later, which we still have to book a slot for, very inconvenient as I never know if it is possible to attend any appointments at any given time. A heavier than usual post which will have to be weighed requires a visit to the PO.
Gone are the days when a courtesy car was available Cornergran, I had to pay £18 recently for a ‘courtesy’ car!
I know exactly where the squirrels in our garden store nuts Whitewave, obvious signs, in the grass near the birdfeeders.
Kind thoughts to those with such sadness to bear. 💐

Have the best day possible all.

Grammaretto Tue 09-Jan-24 09:49:00

Oh definitely Urms get checked out. I did, but was told I had probably had a virus or even two!
I hope yours doesn't develop into anything nasty
My favourite home remedy is steam inhalation. Lean over a bowl of very hot water with a towel over your head and the bowl. Forget the world.

Good Morning from a bright freezing Co Armagh
I broke the ice on my water feature , it’s an old farm cast iron boiler and it was leaking last year , my Son in Law repaired it , I hope it doesn’t spring a leak again , it’s one of the few old things from the farm
Thoughts and prayers for the poorly and sad 🕯️

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 09-Jan-24 09:38:36

Urms my cough lasted just one week short of 3 months.
After 6 weeks I was put on the 2WW pathway, they agreed with my GP that it was a Virus, but it was useful to have the XRay and CT scan.

Blossoming Tue 09-Jan-24 09:33:13

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 1°C.

It was freezing overnight, there is quite a ground frost. We are off to buy some new pillows and may have a wander around a few more shops if I feel up to it.

Have a good day everyone 🌻

Urmstongran Tue 09-Jan-24 09:11:58

Yes Grammaretto a friend has been similar to you. This may well be viral. I don’t feel unwell but just think with how things are at home I don’t want it to develop into anything. Best just to be checked over I think.

Bonnybanko Tue 09-Jan-24 09:05:20

Good morning everyone it’s -2 here on the east coast of Fife I think I’ll have a jammy day
I’m tired with all my comings and going’s.
Have a good day my friends

EkwaNimitee Tue 09-Jan-24 09:02:21

Good morning Mick and everyone from a Carlisle of sun and cloud. It's colder and does that cloud contain snow or rain? Staying in whatever.
I'll more or less finish off any necessary housework this morning then I'll have a think about the freezer. It will probably go no further than that today! In the afternoon, more reading.
I'm a big marmalade fan but too lazy to make my own now. I'm picky about what I buy though and it's rarely from the supermarket now. However much you pay for it, it all seems to have a gel-like consistency so I now buy from small local producers stocked at the local deli. Incidentally, the local stately home (Dalemain) has an annual marmalade festival, now in the summer I believe. Perhaps grandMattie should enter their best marmalade competition?

Have the best possible day all of you.

Grammaretto Tue 09-Jan-24 09:01:57

My cough lasted for months Alygran and Urms but I do believe it's finally left me. There is hope. smile

Urmstongran Tue 09-Jan-24 09:01:05

Thanks Alygran will do. 😊
