Whilst out yesterday noticed the blackthorn blossom in abundance a sign of bad weather to come locally
Today out as usual things were busy yesterday so a similar pattern today , watch cycling on TV when I return to the warmth of my flat .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Durham. Clear sky, dry (at last!) and 4deg.
Coffee this morning with a friend then DGS2 wants me to take him back to see the dinosaur bones - his wish is my command!
I’m having the weekend off from the cleaning/decluttering. Slow and steady with it, plus the bin is full!
I’m a bit phobic over teeth, I fear I’m out living mine.
Please take it easy MD
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning everyone my fingers are cold peeping out from my cosy bed here on the east coast of Fife. It’s about -3 today my carers will come in around 9.30 freezing cold thankfully I’ve a warm house with the central heating on in every roo.
Thinking of those less fortunate than I am
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° with clear skies. My windows are all steamed up with condensation though. I fear I really need new double glazing but not just yet. bellasnana happy birthday to your dd. Still learning safe journey to the Campsies.
Yesterday was such a nice day. My friend arrived before twelve and parked at my house. He brought me chocolates from The Highland Chocolatier which is a real treat. I had got him a pot of hyacinths. We walked to the station and it was so cold! My face was nipping. Then a walk to the Festival Theatre at the other end. Ash we were going to the matinée performance as neither of us like being out late in the city at night. On the way we stopped at a wee shop in Cockburn Street (Edinburgh folk will know where I mean) and I couldn't resist buying some unusual birthday cards and a reusable advent calendar which was made in France.
The ballet was wonderful. The dancing, orchestra, sets, costumes were all terrific. Once home, we bought fish and chips from my local award winning chippy. That was the only thing he would let me pay for. We've decided to go to the theatre in April and then see Swan Lake in May. It's good to have a culture chum.
Today I'm doing the usual shopping and housework. I'll carry on with my cross stitch too. It's a day for stovies I think. Have a good day all
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s warmed up a bit to 3º and it’s dry
Hope today goes ok stilllearning safe travels
I’ve got a hairdressers appointment this afternoon but nothing much else planned
Enjoy the change of scenery Gingster, it’s always good to get away for a few days
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from a dull and chilly Black Country, such a contrast to the sunny days we have enjoyed the past 5 days.
Arrived home around 9pm last night from Gran Canaria, and certainly noticed the difference in temperature. Friday morning we were walking in 24deg! Lovely relaxed and enjoyable 5 days, now back to normality.
First, unpacking and washing on, then to find quotes for car insurance which is up early February.
Wishing you all the best day possible
Good morning from North Yorkshire. We have beautiful clear skies, a pretty sunrise and a frosty start. Good job you weren’t on my lawn overnight greyduster!
I managed a day out yesterday, the first since before new year but was tired last night. Enjoyed more of the ‘Fool me once’ drama. Will watch the rest this evening.
Today I hope to get some gardening done…8 degrees is promised.
Have a good day everyone.
Gingster look forward to seeing you again when the weather improves and the flood just before the entrance to the tearooms has subsided!
Enjoy your visit to Suffolk.
Good morning all .
Today I’ll change the bed sheets and get ready for our few days away at our holiday home. We like to see if everything is ok there and it’s nice to have a change of scene. I’ll see you in the Spring Liberty when Dingle Hills tearooms re open. 👍.
Today Dh will go with ds1 to a footie match and I’ll catch up with some dramas on tv. Fool me Once and Truelove.
My book club book hasn’t arrived at the library and the meeting is this Thursday in Suffolk so I might just download it on my I pad. I’m half way through another book which my DGD recommended so I might just leave it. 🤯. Oh dear! 🤔.
Safe journey Stillearning. 🤞.
Shame about Olddudders tooth. Lots of broken teeth on here lately.
Marmalade cake! Mmmm! 😋.
Have a gentle day Mary. 💐.
Take care all. 🌷
Good morning from a dry Suffolk which feels,at least from indoors,a little warmer than yesterday.
I had a lovely day with my friend yesterday and we enjoyed our visit to Christchurch Mansion. I had forgot how many Gainsboroughs there were on display and others in storage according to the knowledgable staff on duty.
DGD4 had a belated birthday sleepover last night in Bristol. The 6 girls are all due at school at 9am for netball and DD was anticipating having to explain to the games teacher why they were all sleepy! I’ll catch up with her shortly after she has delivered the girls and see how it went!
Hope to have a walk by the sea later with DH and the dog and a hot chocolate along the way.
Good morning from a cold, overcast Oxfordshire, no wind though.
I have a head cold so won’t be going anywhere today, the jigsaw beckons and I think today is the day! I can’t see it well enough to do in the evenings and I feel guilty sitting down for too long during the day.
Have a good day everyone, let’s hope we see some sunshine today.
Good morning Mick, Annie and all. Awake and compos early for me. Just had my morning cuppa delivered. Tablets taken and contemplating shopping later. Managed to order the bag that I wanted, by going into the shop and they put the order through for me. No email confirmation yet though.
After a little clear out, took a few things to 'my' charity shop, and discovered that a long time friend has been quite poorly, but is on the mend.
Marydoll. You are still doing too much.
Will go back and read yesterday's posts
Have a good day one and all.
Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.
Not much on today apart from lunch out with 2 dgc. We don't see so much of them nowadays as they have busy social lives so we make sure to get them to ourselves every now and again.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from Shropshire.Another cold, dull and dry day forecast.
Thankyou Pantglas and Ash.I don’t feel I do a great deal but am trying to get out of hermit mode as since the lockdown we haven’t socialised a great deal apart from with family.
Tap dancing went well. There are a lot of steps to remember😳A nice group and I got on well with a couple of ladies who have invited DH and I to U3A.We had lunch in town and bumped into a friend we haven’t seen for years. She has invited us for tea.Not sure us old hermits are up for so much socialising😳
We collected the children from school.H is wide awake but DGD is still fast asleep. She was very tired and also worried she was going to swallow her very wobbly tooth in the night. They will be collected after lunch and we will start packing for our trip down to West Wales.
I hope Mary has managed to speak to a dr about her medication.
Have the best day you can everyone 🦩
Good morning, a cold start to the weekend here in south Glos but no frost.
Marmalade cake sounds utterly delicious grandMattie, I must try that 😋
Housework yesterday before I started a pair of socks, I haven’t made any for a while. Today I want to do more art, I’m really enjoying using coloured pencils even if my attempts aren’t quite right!
DH will take the dog for a long walk somewhere so a quiet day.
Have a lovely weekend everyone 🌹
Good morning all from Glasgow, where its 7°C, a bit warmer than yesterday.
Safe journey, Stilllearning, not an easy drive.
I won't be doing much today, after another hellish night I'm afraid.
Just the Parish bulletin to upload to the website and send to those on the mailing list. Unfortunately the P.P is ill, the curate should have done it, but no sign of it.
D.D and S.I.L are expected, I have made a karge pot of Scotch broth, because they will orobably want fed!
Have a good day folks.
Good morning from a dark but dry Colchester. No frost and sunshine forecast.
Yesterday was overcast with damp in the air. We had a flying visit to DD2 in the afternoon as she had a blocked loo and DH has a thingy to clear it. It meant we got baby cuddles and to do the school run. DGD is 6 months old today. Time is certainly flying.
DH has a first aid course today so I'll use the empty to mop the floors and then take a walk to the shops to peruse the bras. Mine have seen better days. It's always a difficult job to get something comfortable. The ones I have now are no longer available.
Beef stew with dumplings tonight.
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It is very chilly in South Yorkshire this morning. One degree outside but expected to be a fine day. I stood outside late last night looking at a wonderful night sky. Orion and the great bear, Aldebaran in Taurus and the Pleiades, all glittering like diamonds. The sort of night you would like to lie on your back on the lawn and just stare in amazement (but they’d find you next morning frozen solid and dead as a door nail! I suppose there are worse ways to go!). Housework for me today and a food shop, then whatever comes around the corner. I might make chocolate brownies.
Have the best day you can folks!
Good morning from a dry, chilly Torbay. I’ve never known it stay this cold here for so long.
Safe travels to you, Stillearning and I hope there will be some joy in seeing other family members.
Yes, I agree with you, Pantglas2, about Susan56. As with several, of you when I read of your activities, I have energy envy!! Bellasnana, Mizuna and grandMattie also Grandmabatty - I hope you had a lovely evening at the ballet!
olddudders should have had a day out in London with friends from his railway hobby but a second broken tooth has made him cancel. Such a pity but he is glad to stay in the warm.
Coffee Morning at church then a panto with a local amdram group later. The Wizard of Oz.
Enjoy whatever you have planned! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
Morning Mick, morning All from a dark, dry corner of Somerset.
Had a thoroughly enjoyable volunteer stint yesterday, caught up with some tv and prepared for todays visitors, my cousin and her husband. Hope there’s decent weather for their two and a bit hour journey. Just the table to sort and cushions to shake before we spend the day chatting and eating, there’s a lot of catching up to do.
Safe journey stilllearning, hope today isn’t too difficult.
Stay warm everyone and have the best day you can.
Good morning, cloudy dull and cold in s somerset
Have a safe steady journey stillearning
I had a tooth problem yesterday and the upshot is that I am going to have an implant, I need to start saving. There was no other way now for me to avoid having a small denture and I cannot cope with a denture as a permanent thing
Delivery office visit in an hour, to return something to amazon. I saw it £20 cheaper the day after I ordered it, the same company in amazon. I ordered it again but at the cheaper price
The stove will go on again this afternoon, it only took a small amount of fuel yesterday and was very cheery, it keep the room warmer for hours because of the heat retained in the stove after the fire died down
I`ll try and get the oomph to get through some paperwork today, my least favourite job. I`ll be staying in today
Have a good day
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Better than the forecast.
Poor you Stilllearning . I hope the drive and the funeral turn out to be not too bad or sad.
It's not warm enough here to sit outside
Mizuna unless you are.very well wrapped up.
My DS has booked a table at a nearby Italian restaurant for lunch. We used to go there regularly for family events but since his dad and DGPs died we haven't.
Happy birthday to your DD Bellasnana
Try to enjoy today everyone.
still, it’s just a normal sponge with half a jar of marmalade in it before cooking. Warm marmalade on top when done…
A very unusually early good morning from me in chilly South Lanarkshire. I’ve been awake for ages, I think I’ve been so anxious about getting to this important family funeral. I can’t see what the road is like but Alexa says it’s 5 degrees so it should be okay. It’s quite a drive over to the Campsie Hills and I’ll give myself plenty of time.
Marmalade cake sounds delicious grandMattie, I don’t know that one.
Mizuna, once again your plans for the day fill me with admiration, enjoy your ‘walk’!
Wishing everyone a good day.
Good morning from a mild, dry Cornwall where I'm heading for my patio with a coffee. My granddaughter arrived yesterday, pyjama'd and dressing-gowned, with a porcelain complexion but after a day of resting (and learning to finger-knit which she excelled at) she went home restored.
Today I must find a beach to walk on as it's good exercise for my crutches. I'll take a flask of tea and a book and sit a while too.
