Does Anyone Remember Paper Cut Out Dolls?

Yes we must be of an age. I used to love them and believe I still have mine in the loft - which I'm supposed to be sorting out while I can still get up there, but it's a struggle.
When I get round to it they will go on ebay as I'm on my own and no one to leave them to. Surprising how nostalgic people are for some things.

I used to receive Bunty then Jackie. I was so obsessed with Ballet, I used to cut out ballerinas and stick them in a big scrapbook. I would take the book into my ballet class each week, expect the teacher must've got quite bored with that scrapbook!! But I adored it.

Yes I remember them. Cut out the clothes then hang them on the dolls by wrapping around the dolls small paper tabs designed into the clothes. Haven't seen them in 50 years.

I loved them too. Seem to remember them on the back of Kellogg’s cornflakes packets…….?

There are paper cut out dolls on ebay, but not of the style I remember. And they are really expensive 😳

You can get these nowadays. My daughter’s a pre-teen and she used to play with them!

Amazon has one called Ballerina Lisa for only £3.99 😁. I'd like to buy it but I doubt very much that my granddaughter would play with it 😔

Yes i had those when i was little. They had them on back of some comics but you could get dress up cut out doll books also.

Loved them my favourite memory is receiving a large cardboard one with lots of cut out clothes I also remember the ones on back of the Bunty comic

Used to love them ! when I had finished with those free from a comic or magazine, my friends and I made our own, cut out dresses from coloured paper......spent hours with them !

Loved them - spent many happy hours cutting out & dressing/redressing - my little brother was sadly not as enthusiastic as me. How I miss him 😥

Yes I had them and loved to make up stories with them,
I also remember having a cardboard one that had a cut between the legs and you put another piece of card through and it stood up. I also had one with a magnet on its tummy and you stuck small magnets on the clothes which gradually slipped down the doll.

Remember the cut out paper dolls from the early sixties. Kept me amused for hours. Also looked forward to my Bunty and Judy comics every week.

I never had Bunty which wasn't published until I was 18, but did have those cut-out dolls with cut-out clothing so they must have been in another publication or in books. I think I remember trying to draw and cut out dresses I designed myself.

I loved playing with my paper dolls and even had a go at making my own. Grandad used to help me cut the dolls and clothes out when I was little.

Yes, I did like playing with them until I got fed up with them!

I loved those cut out dolls. I once was given some very posh ones. A family my mum knew were emigrating to Australia and they had one child who was a couple of years older than me. I was given some of her toys including some dressing up dolls made of sturdy cardboard and they had nylon hair. I was delighted. My little grand daughter is only 15 months but I hope she will enjoy such simple toys. Her daddy loved imaginary games especially dressing up, cuddly tots and crafy activities ( probably because I was so enthusiastic!) Most of his contemporaries ( he is 25) were into tech but he was quite happy without it.

Great memories played for hours and made up stories ect better than today’s tech games

I can remember cutting babies out of Gratton catalogue plus the blankets & playing with them. I can vividly remember coming home from school & my mum had thrown them all out….i was sooo upset.

Loved them, had a whole pretend school! They were on the back of Bunty every week. As I got older they started to get boyfriends and kiss!!

My DDs learned to use scissors cutting baby pictures and clothes out of Mothercare catalogues and dressing them.
My mum must have let me cut her magazines as I remember making a Fairground peep show with photos of the film Cleopatra with Richard Burton and Liz Taylor.
