Does Anyone Remember Paper Cut Out Dolls?

Loved mine and love handbags now. I swear that’s where I got it all from! Sat for hours making them up.

I loved mine, and never forgot the horror when I found my little sister had ripped the head of each one! She was only a toddler, but I remember shrieking at her, and my mum saying "She's too little, she didn't mean to do it!"

In use to love these books, and made a family of my own for my dolls house with clothes. Kept me quiet for ages.

I remember them well and loved them as a small child in the 50s. I can remember the disappointment when the tabs wore away and fell off and expecting my dad to drop what he was doing and attempt a repair job 😊

I really liked them too I can remember sitting at nans kitchen table pressing the clothes out of the thick page and bending the little tabs over

Ilovecheese Ooh I'm so happy this is still a thing for little ones to enjoy, I used to like drawing different backgrounds and rooms for them to live in.

Bunty and Judy didn’t exist when I was a child, but I certainly had those paper dolls. Loved them.

I loved them too. My granddaughter has some with peel off stickers instead of paper with tabs.

Oh yes. Loved them and I used to make my own also. All clothes with the little tabs to fold over.

The current version is the same, but the paper is sturdier- more like card. They're a big hit with my little granddaughters.

I had forgotten about the Bunty dolls, I used to have a shoe boxful, and if lucky at birthday and Xmas would get a posh cardboard book one .

I remember them really well from the 50s, hours of fun cutting out and dressing up.

I used to love playing with these,lots of imagination and conversations in my head,I was a solitary child,they became my friends.

It was Bunty that had the dolls on the back.

They were on the back of The Bunty. I used to cut them out and collect all the permutations and dress up the dolls. We would have parties and I would create wee characters

Yes loved them kept me amused for hours, sometimes with a friend, we had our respective dolls' social lives planned out with suitable attire for any occasion

I think I bought a book containing press out doll and clothes for my granddaughter when she was younger, but it didn't quite grab her in the same way. My take on that, less stuff to play with, our generation = more satisfaction with what we did have!

I’ve just looked on line, there are lots of dress up dolls or cut out dolls. Perhaps we could have some fun with a trip down memory lane.

I have seen some recently but not sure how popular they are.

One of my granddaughters, now in her teens used to have a monthly magazine with a push out card doll with paper clothes and accessories. Can’t remember what it was called but is probably still available.

I absolutely loved them .
Oddly for a tomboy -I really appreciated the frilly frocks .
Were they in Judy or Bunty comics ?
Or both ?
