Mine are on the dining table, with the sun gleaming through them. Is there anything more cheerful?

I'm obviously out of step, I have a vase full of tulips at the moment.

I love daffi's but unfortunately they're poisonous to cats and we don't want our little furry babe being hurt so I have a plastic vase of fake ones made from foam and plastic straws!

Me too. A ‘rainbow’ bunch, picked up yesterday in Sainsbury’s for a fiver. And British grown, always a plus for me.

I’m also out of step . I have a vase of beautiful carnations. Sorry

I adore daffodils and my husband knows not to buy me anything else, so I tend to get a lot of flowers around this time of year leading up to my birthday which is on the 1st of March. That is also St David's day and the daffodil is the national flower of Wales. I have told him l only want daffodils on my coffin too!!

I've still got the Christmas poinsettia in the window.

Juicylucy Wed 17-Jan-24 11:42:48

Mine are sitting proud on dining room table . My favourite flowers buy them every week until there over. 🌼

Sorty to boast but we have literally thousands in the garden. Live in the Sussex countryside, so very lucky.
But, l never pick them .... prefer to buy a bunch.

On the kitchen window sill to brighten my mood looking at snow

Chris4159 Wed 17-Jan-24 12:33:47

On the hallway windowsill. Looks cheerful as you walk up to the front door.

No daffodils available here until much nearer Easter.

I did buy a bunch of yellow roses on Twelfth Night when I took down the Christmas decorations, but cut flowers are really far too expensive. I stopped buying them years ago, and are not going to start again.

Bluesmum Wed 17-Jan-24 13:06:42

Mine are on my kitchen window sill and some on my dressing table, reflected in the mirror, in a beautiful antique blue and yellow glass vase which was a Christmas present. My favourite flower.

Gwenisgreat Wed 17-Jan-24 13:23:20

Thanks for reminding me, I shall put some on order from Sainsbury's tomorrow!

When I was working in London the flower sellers used to sell ‘souls’ they smelt so sweet and looked so cheerful. My mother said they were soleil d’or. Haven’t seen them for years.

Sols were on sale down in Cornwall from early November. It feels all wrong to buy them before January but I couldn't resist!

The poor daffs flowering in my garden got battered by the snow yesterday, hope they bounce back

DrWatson Wed 17-Jan-24 15:03:56

We've still got 2 pots of hyacinths from Xmas, going strong and should last quite a while yet?!

nipsmum Wed 17-Jan-24 15:26:19

Mine are covered in snow at the moment.

Musicgirl Wed 17-Jan-24 15:31:24

I love daffodils and treat myself to a couple of the £1 bunches from M and S each week at this time of year. I like mine either on top of the piano or in the hall. I think daffodils are possibly my favourite flowers as they are such a cheerful colour and speak of better things to come.

DamaskRose Wed 17-Jan-24 15:41:33

Three yellow flower pots full of daffs on the kitchen window sill, just started to flower, you can’t have too many!

Puzzlelove Wed 17-Jan-24 16:17:28

I always buy them as soon as I see them in our local supermarket, late December or early January and buy them every week for as long as I can. Our 38 year old son does the same. Love daffodils.

Greyisnotmycolour Wed 17-Jan-24 16:39:39

Siope That's exactly what my DIL says about them, she can't bear them in the house. I know a lot of people think the same about hyacinths but I think their scent is wonderful.

Jewelle Wed 17-Jan-24 16:40:23

Just bought some this morning and they’re looking lovely in my kitchen. Spring is on the way! smile

Missiseff Wed 17-Jan-24 17:21:41

On my kitchen windowsill 😊

Authoress Wed 17-Jan-24 17:52:49

Crazy H, I'm a carnation girl too atm smile

mbody Wed 17-Jan-24 17:59:51
