Two year old starves to death

Again, the so-called social services are to blame, they should be closed down and a new system built. Again, they're blaming everyone but themselves and all the ''lessons will be learned'' rubbish.

As well as the poor baby and dad, there was also a starving Boxer dog too, who thankfully, was saved just in time.

Unbelievably sad. In this case I think the social worker wasn't to blame, the police should have acted once she had informed them there was no reply when she called by appointment. I agree they have questions to answer.

The police have questions to answer. I would also like to know why, after alerting the police twice that she had been unable to obtain access, the second time on 4 January, she did not call again until 9 January. We don’t yet know when the little one died.
As for his mother, who hadn’t seen her child since before Christmas after a row with the father - I have no words,

Always, blame the social worker without any evidence.
Why did the police not investigate?

As i have read, the police were contacted on more than 1 occasion, so im not understanding why action was not taken with them, the police. From what I have read, the social worker involved, pursue
pursued it further.

I don’t think the social worker is to blame. What about the mother? What about the rest of the family? Why was a 60 year old man with health issues having custody of a 2 year old. The poor little boy looks in need of a good bath in the photos. He should have been taken into care. Poor little child.

The social worker visited by appointment, got no reply and contacted the police. I don’t understand why no police action was taken.
The social worker visited again, no reply, child not seen so police informed. Again, no action.
The social worker obtained a key from the landlord, let herself in and found the bodies.
Please don’t just blame this social worker. I don’t understand why the police didn’t gain access to the property. In my experience, they’d have used their powers to gain entry to ensure a vulnerable child was seen.
The child’s mother is complaining to the Sun that social services let her child die. No comment on thst

Dreadful how some things read cannot be un-read.

So very sad and it appears that the social worker informed the Police after her first visit but they didn’t do anything- no doubt it will all come out at the inquest.

I used to tell my meals on wheels volunteers the same and from time to time they would alert us to a person who had fallen and couldn’t open the door so we would send the police or ambulance out and, sadly, sometimes people who had had a heart attack and died. The social service people quite obviously need some extra training. I would have thought that was pretty basic. Not good.
