What did you do with your Christmas Tree?

All types of pine fir spruce etc. Have medicinal properties apparently.
I'm going to make pine cordial when I can.

Gave it to a friend to feed to his goats. They love them apparently.

Our trees are artificial ones, so they’re packed back into their boxes and stored in the garage ready for next time.

I'm not sure how much longer we will be able to have a fresh tree. All the lugging home, holding it up to put into stand etc.
But I do like the scent!

Out little potted one that was outside the front door, will ‘holiday’ in the garden, and will (I hope) be used for at least another 2 or 3 years.

If it rains tonight then every cloud will have a silver lining as I've forgotten to water ours!

Our DD put theirs out to be collected by a charity (as pre-arranged along with several others in their city street), when the charity collectors arrived all the trees had just been picked up by a zoo..!!

We planted ours and hope to use it again next year, but who knows.

I think I've got enough there to last a number of years, as it should be diluted around 5/1 with water.
I've made another one with orange peel in it.
One for the bathrooms and one for the kitchen etc.
Maybe I should set up a business 💰💷😄

We cut it and placed it in our near woods.

Donation to our local hospice and volunteers collected and recycled it.

Our neighbours planted one which started off as a tiny tree in a pot, luckily it's nowhere near us!

Mine's in a pot outside but it needs re-potting.

Ours too, Callistemon. I was surprised that it hadn’t grown since 2022, but I’m guessing its poor roots are squashed. Though DS once grew a tree from a packet of Christmas tree seeds in his stocking and it ended up dwarfing the house, so we need to be a bit careful.

We have similar collections all over the UK, JackyB. DH and his friend spent a couple of days collecting trees in aid of a local hospice, and they kept bumping into “rivals” from the Scouts and other charities. There could be a sitcom in it - Tree Wars?

Sawn up and burnt on the fire.

I usually make my own cleaning agents, but it's too late to try *Namsnanny"'s recipe now. Would like to hear more about it though.

In our town here in Germany the junior fire brigade come and fetch the trees on a Saturday in early Jan. There are similar projects in most towns all over the country.

We always have a real tree.
This year it was shredded by the RNLI for a donation.

We cut ours up in the sitting room - dh wielding the loppers, me with the big garden waste bag.

That’s because even if it had hardly shed a needle before, because we had kept it well watered, it would manage to shed masses while being dragged to and out of the front door.
Dh then takes it all to the green waste bin at the tip.

We kept ours up until last weekend, when we had a belated family get-together.
It's currently standing in the conservatory, waiting to go into its storage bag and up in the loft.

We paid a local charity to take ours and shred it.

Our artificial tree didn’t make it out of the box this year, so it is still in the loft awaiting the arrival of the other bits and bobs that we decorated the house with.

Monica the place where you have stored your artificial tree 🌲 now has a different meaning 😳 as I was recently informed by a young relative.

The real one went to the tip for compostin and recycling as such.

The other one was carefully packed back into its box and put back in the glory hole.

Put it back in its box then up into its designated space in the loft where it will rest until December comes around again. There’s a certain security knowing it’s there and it’s lights will shine again.
