Several GN have lost or are losing friends this January and while I was putting on a scarf this morning I remember buying it with a friend about 10 years ago in East.

The shop East has long gone and so has my friend 4 years ago.

It only feels like last week we were there in East enjoying a mooch before coffee.

So I offer my sympathies to those who are also missing a dear friend. It is hard. Time goes past so quickly. Thank goodness we didnt know that in our twenties. We must cherish our friends.

Yes I agree. My friend of 55 years died 18 months ago, the pain is less but the tears come with the memories.

There’s been a couple of cases where I’ve kept telling myself ‘I must get in touch with….’ only to find, when I eventually do, that they have died. As you say, we must cherish our friends. Time goes so fast.

I had some very long and precious friendships over the years. Almost all of them are gone now and it's so sad.
