I have just potted up some rooted bits of jasmine that a neighbour has pulled out, some for me and some for a WI plant stall in a couple of months. I did it sitting down but my knee still complained. I hope your knee is OK today Jax? It sounded very painful.

Thank you, everyone, for the kind and loving words and thoughts and prayers. They mean a lot. DD did not want a funeral so S-out-law has arranged a private cremation. He told some while back that he wants to scatter the ashes on Iona near some rock pools that DD couldn't tear herself away from on their last proper family holiday just before her diagnosis. I shall ask him for the What3Words 'address' so that we can go there too some time. I think I know exactly where he means in the north of the island.
Meanwhile I am sorting through DD's knittings and crochetings. I found three strips of a zig-zag blanket that she'd started and, as it's quite a simple pattern I will carry on and finish the blanket. Sometimes, even choosing the next colour brings on tears but that's okay. They must flow.
I found three little crocheted mice so DDs 2 and 3 and I will have one each to keep in our dressing gown pockets – where BTDD used to put her pet gerbils when she was little.
And so life goes on. This is late because we are only recently back from Shen Yun (Chinese traditional dance) at SEC Armadillo in Glasgow. MrB bought tickets months ago as his birthday treat. His birthday is Saturday.
DD2 is coming over from Edinburgh for a couple of days tomorrow.
Thank you for all the kind thoughts and my own thoughts are still with Baggs.
A little update from me. DS has seen his specialist who has shone a chink of light into the darkness, coming up with a treatment plan to prevent the disease from progressing, even though it can’t be cured. DS could then move onto a maintenance schedule to keep it under control, possibly for years, allowing him to carry on with normal life. If the meds become ineffective, there are other schedules that can be used.
DS, and indeed all of us, feel that he’s been given a life raft and we hope that the future is not as frightening a place as it was yesterday.
