NannyG4 I’m an occasional poster but an avid reader and I love both threads. A large majority post on both. As I’ve commented before, all gamuts of life are reflected and support and congratulations are given freely as needed.

Hello kitchen people. It seems we’ve all had busy weekends.
Elder son, his partner and our granddaughter had a lovely time visiting. Son’s partner was so pleased to have a lie in for once. We live in a peaceful Oxfordshire village. They live in Kew with tubes from 5 am and they’re on the Heathrow flight path! Lunch went down a treat. Leg of lamb with all the trimmings and my new improved Yorkshire puddings. Extra eggs and less milk. My little granddaughter loved the chocolate pudding and ice cream. Then, a WhatsApp message from younger son to ask if he could come and stay for a few days as he had a week off work. He loves coming to stay in the Shire as he calls it. He lives in South London, which is also noisy. So one son went home and hours later another one turned up. He works as a Civil servant in Westminster and always has interesting stories to tell.
Sleep tight. I’m thinking of so many of you with difficulties.

Thankyou for the warm welcome... May I ask what is the difference between this thread and the Good Morning thread, they both seem to be very supportive and full of lovely grans.

Oh soop, how wonderful to have something so lovely for you and Mr Soop to look forward to. Well done to your middle son. I hope you enjoy it as much as Mr Dusty and I enjoyed the family gathering that our daughters organised for our joint eightieth birthdays last March. We could have done it all again the next day.

DGS has just gone through to bed, we’ve been playing Ticket to Ride and Hotel. They’re both quite long games to get through but he’s enjoyed them and at least he wasn’t glued to a screen the whole time 🤣

Well done to him soop not too far away either.
We’ve been on a pub crawl, not really! Met my son and his partner in their local for one, then onto ours for meat draw. It was good to see them, as they’re both busy, we were asked when our first bbq might be, ‘when it’s warmer’.
We did win four rib eye steaks, eye wateringly expensive to buy as they’re sourced locally, a treat in store.

I am exhausted, our darling now 9 yr old today has had a football party, obviously we had to go (all our GC have us well and truly in their thrall)

Now cooking roast pork, whilst having an early chilled white wine.

He was very pleased with his cake, no idea why he supports this team the rest of the family are West Ham supporters 🤦‍♀️

Soop a family gathering sounds brilliant and something to look forward to. I have had a lovely weekend with dgs1. He has been a joy. Breakfast was good at the garden centre and I bought some child sized tools for him and his brother to use in my garden. I visited mum but didn't stay long as she wasn't chatty. I'm just about to sort dinner. Steak pie, mash and assorted vegetables. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners

Middle son has performed a miracle. He has organised a family gathering for this coming spring. So far, twenty members have confirmed. We will travel to Rutland. Mr Soop says...shall we travel first class? I responded with a big grin.

So sorry to hear the news from Sued. I too am desperately worried about my DS but for different reasons. I hope you feel better soon Urms.

Oh Urms that’s all you need. I had that too shortly after spending time in hospital with DH and getting yet another hospital acquired chest infection. So painful but hopefully The painkillers will help. Little, gentle hug.
