Good evening dear Kitcheners. Mr B has spoken to his doctor today to the results of the blood tests. He is not anaemic, blood sugar and thyroid fine. He’s vitamin D and B deficiency, and high cholesterol, He’s also referred him for an ultrasound on the neck arteries. Prescriptions for high dose vitamins and statins to be collected tomorrow.

A very busy day today, catching up with laundry, shopping and cooking cos we've hardly been home since we got the news of our friend's sudden death. Arrangements are starting to be made...

‘Evening All’.

I’ve had a lovely day which included a 3 hour lunch with neighbours (now friends of many years standing) who hail from Glasgow. We shared 2 bottles of wine with our plates of food. It was so nice to see them again. I had a couple of ‘moments’ prior to going down to meet them but I now make allowances for my emotional lability. Then breathe …

It’s pleasantly warm here which is wonderful.

I have my book to read on my Kindle so I think I’ll lock up, take my mascara off and put on my pj’s.

Oh - went over to the supermarket for bottled water earlier. 1.5 litre was 25 cents. Blimey!

Hoping all has gone well for the soops. I got a bit of gardening done in today’s sunshine and planted a new rose which arrived this morning. My knee protested vehemently and I couldn’t do any more.

Good afternoon kitchen pals, it’s looking a bit grey here in Inverness now but so far today it’s stayed dry. It’s been quite windy so I’ve managed to get lots of washing dried outside on the line too

It’s been a busy day, dropped DGS off at school, then over to the gym for Zumba, followed by aqua aerobics. I’m making the most of it before it closes in three weeks time 🙁 The rest of the afternoon has been spent packing and getting stuff sorted as we’re off to Switzerland at the end of the week to visit DS and his partner.
Sounds like he’s going to be a lovely busy family Easter nannytopsy something to look forward to, hard work, but I’m sure you’ll thoroughly enjoy it

You sound like I felt yesterday ann. While being more than pleased to be wanted at the 18th birthday party it was in truth too busy and too noisy for us. We did enjoy seeing so many happy faces, we didn’t enjoy the DJ! It’s hard to say no though.

Miserable weather here too sued. The little lawn under our bedroom window will need serious work if it is ever to resemble a lawn again. Those kittens look full of mischief. I know nothing about feline needs. My experience of cats was of the semi feral farm type when I was growing up, never came indoors and avoided people. Mr C is seriously allergic to cat hair so no chance of living alongside a cat for the last 55 years.

Hope you get some help soon grannyg, spinal pain impacts every aspect of life. I learned to my cost its best if a cause is identified quickly. A private physio keeps me moving now.

Exciting times yia. It’s sort of a shame you’ll not be able to watch.

Little has happened here today. We needed a quiet one. Our lunch was eaten in our favourite garden centre, their cafe offers beautifully cooked roasts with fresh vegetables on Sundays. A treat. The carpet arrives tomorrow then we begin putting everything back. I should be pleased about that shouldn't I?!

I have sat and watched TV this afternoon after a bit of gardening. Why do I feel guilty?? My parents would watch a film on Sunday afternoon so I can, surely!
We have been planning Easter Sunday lunch for about 15, including 4 vegetarians and two toddlers. The aim is a meal which doesn’t involve me standing to prep things. . And involves an 8th birthday!

Cornergran I think you’re quite right to register a complaint about that scan, for other patients sake, if nothing else. You wonder how these people would feel if it was their relative being treated in such a way.

It’s been dismal weather here for days now. It was warmer today and I had hoped to venture into the garden. We’ve had so much rain (36hrs on Weds/Thu then all night Fri/Sat) that it was absolutely sodden and the grass is only just about surviving so that didn’t happen. I did notice, though, as I went to the bin(!) that last year’s violas in pots have seeded themselves in between the paving slabs on the patio and are flowering.

Last week was just so busy. Boy kitten had his op ok. He was to be kept warm and quiet for the evening. Well, that didn’t happen - he was racing around all evening with his sister like a mad thing! He seemed totally unperturbed by it, so that’s good.

I had my book group on Thursday then looked after the GC in the evening while dd and sil went to the cinema. I had to drive home tnrough flooded roads after that. Friday we collected GS from nursery and took him for lunch then off to feed the ducks and swans at a park pond. On Saturday we had both children while dd went to a friend’s 40th birthday and sil was working until the afternoon. As we needed a food top-up we went to the supermarket. I’ve forgotten how time-consuming two small children are and it took two hours to get there and back! 😂 Luckily daddy arrived shortly after and took them home so we relaxed with a canned marguerita each.

Instead of gardening today I’ve been through a pile of paperwork. I renewed the VED on my car, now it has its new MOT, and threw out sundry other paperwork. Where is this paperless society, I ask myself??

Grannmarie what sad and upsetting news for you and for the family left behind.
I hope good arrangements are soon in place for them.
I am exhausted, I have been , for the second time in my life, to a baby shower.
There were 50 odd people there and it was crowded and noisy.
I now cannot cope with such events.
We were there over 3 hours and I couldn’t leave as my lift took 3 others and it was over half a hour away.
A lovely buffet was served but it was a long time coming and I got over hungry. Two glasses of wine in the afternoon didn’t help.
I feel I must give up on such invitations, a shame but realistic.
I am already in bed. However it was lovely to be included and I am thankful for that.

I trust Urmstongran is in her happy place and assured her H is fine without her.
Grandmabatty Continue to get well, I think you need a pick-me-up.
I shall think of soop on her journey and also of YiaYia on her exciting times.

Grannmarie I'm really sorry to hear that. My condolences to you and the family. My trout fillet with almonds and orange sauce didn't happen. I opened the pack of fillets and they were off. So I made pasta with pesto, chilli and cooked ham instead. It was slow to clear here Brook. I won't get into the garden until Wednesday at least.
