I have had the quietest Easter apart from one that I have ever known.
The other was when my H died on Maundy Thursday which was later on that year.
My GD has been out a lot but popped in now and then all weekend.
I think the antibiotics have made me feel very low.
It was lovely to hear of all your doings and family visits.
My own life was like that once but I honestly have few regrets, I have been there and done that.
The weather has been lovely but damp and dull today.
My upcoming weekend has now been cancelled.
The trains I would have used are on strike and I didn’t want to reorganise to travel earlier or later, again due again to my low mood.
I’m sure things will pick up soon though.
Enjoy the day you have planned for today everyone and special kind thoughts to those ill and caring.

Charleygirl5 Mon 01-Apr-24 12:43:12

I have to leave, Waitrose and Asda are beckoning.

Charleygirl5 Mon 01-Apr-24 12:14:50

Has Sweetie Pie popped in for a meal or three recently?

Charleygirl5 Mon 01-Apr-24 12:13:46

Rain is forecast but the sun is shining and it is perfect drying weather.

Charleygirl5 Mon 01-Apr-24 12:11:40

soop would you lie to have a conversation or three so we can move out of this kitchen?

soop Mon 01-Apr-24 12:03:58

I shall continue to loiter. A new kitchen is very shortly to be opened.
Enjoy your day, dear Granspals.

Easter Sunday went well, food was popular. We had 4 no shows, including 3 vegetarians, so there is a lot of Homity pie left. 2 older DGC are asleep and also the two babies - a house full tonight. DH is the breakfast chef, so he’ll be busy 🤣.
I hope you all enjoy Easter Monday

NannyG4 Sun 31-Mar-24 22:41:36

Beautiful day here in Kent, we had a drive to our nearby beach, sat in the sun with a coffee , delightful.

Just the two of us over Easter.. Lamb Tagine with cheesecake to follow this evening.

Easter Greetings to all you lovely 'grans'.....

Just another thought SueD do you know there’s a meet up planned with quite a few of us in Glasgow on 17th April? Be lovely if you could come along too x

Thank you for telling me, Brook. Unfortunately, I can’t do Wednesdays - granny duties. Also, I’d feel a bit nervous about meeting so many new folk - silly really, I’m sure you don’t bite!

Of course I didn’t put the clocks back, they adjust themselves.

I consider myself duly chastised for my error.

Thank you so much SueD I’ll definitely let you know! 😀

SueDonim Sun 31-Mar-24 19:58:15

I don’t think I have time to catch up on all the individual messages here, but suffice to say, I hope you’ve all had a lovely Easter.

Special mention for Brook, though - if you do come to see Perth Museum, let me know if you’d like to meet for coffee. No obligation!

We had a lovely time with dd and family on Good Friday. Roast chicken and cake (on separate plates!) were consumed. Highlight of the day for the children was one of the kittens falling in the bath while small grandson was bathing in it! 😂

Saturday we had to get more cat food. It’s at a particular store so we also wandered into town for a coffee in a new cafe. It was a lovely place, as was the food, but £26 for coffee and cheesecake! On the way home the heavens opened and we had a torrential storm of rain and hail. We couldn’t hear each other in the car.

Today has been a complete contrast, sun all day. We went out to buy more compost including rose compost. I’ve now fed my roses and topped up their containers with said compost and I hope that they’ll flower away all summer. I also filled a raised trug with compost which I’m now letting warm up before trying out growing some veg. I’ll probably mostly do salads.

We also had a tidy up of the garage. We’ve gathered so much cardboard, for some reason. The garage is tidier now although my car isn’t, as it’s loaded up with all the junk ready to go to the dump. That might be tomorrow’s outing. grin

Enjoy the chocolate feast, all who indulge! TOYA. Xxx

Hi all, sounds like you’re all having a good day, whether on your own or with others, just us two here today, so a quiet one. The lamb dinner will be ready very soon, not MrJ’s favourite, but mine, he has chicken often enough 🙂.
The sun tried today, but could do better, but another dry day, rain later. No luck in the pub meat draw, it was quieter today, lots of people with family.
Enjoy your evening everyone 🐥

Grandmabatty Sun 31-Mar-24 19:07:53

Scapa Doune is a lovely place. I haven't been there for a long time.

brook2704 Sun 31-Mar-24 18:45:31

Hi to all kitchen pals, it’s been a lovely sunny day here in Inverness and I’ve enjoyed being outside in the garden.
Sounds like a lovely day with your DH Scapal, it’s just me and my DH here today too.
I’ve made roast chicken for dinner and I’ll be trying out the lemon posset that I made this morning …
Hope you enjoy a restful evening grandmabatty after all your hard work today - well worth it though I bet
Good to see you here Urms pleased you’ve had an enjoyable day with your stepfather.
Hi to Doodle and a very Happy Easter
Exciting times ahead with a wedding to look forward to Yia

Urmstongran Sun 31-Mar-24 18:31:01

Happy Easter to all who post (or read) Soop’s kitchen. We’ve been out for a very enjoyable pub lunch with my stepfather - who told us that his family in Wester Ross had telephoned him. Apparently the weather up there is ‘just gorgeous’! Being on the Gulf Stream they enjoy their own microclimate lucky things - next to the Isle of Skye.

Happy Easter everyone. What a lovely day it has been here in Stirlingshire. We had a very pleasant walk this afternoon around a place called Doune Ponds it was quiet and very peaceful. There were two swans and what appeared from a distance to be a nest. Very few ducks though there usually are quite a few. We are on our own as family are of on holiday. Only one chocolate egg between us as I am type 1 diabetic and have been for 38 years and we only get a little bit at a time. Dh would eat more but he is very good and doesn’t complain 🤣.
Lamb for tea with dauphinois potatoes carrots, mangetout and green biscuits followed by crackers and cheese.
