Hi everybody, I am new to this site and I am seeking out some advice. I joined this website as my daughter is on mumsnet and gets spectacular advice on there. I have only recently re-kindled my relationship with my daughter and she has two WONDERFUL children which are aged 5 and 11. As I have not seen them in a few years they do not have any clear memories of me, I have joined in hopes of getting ideas such as what to do with them, how to bond, and how to be the BEST nanny ever smile. Thanks, Carol.

ask your daughter first.
those are her images, and she is likely to feel more strongly about them than anyone else.

Thank you, I have asked my daughter and the only thing she has strong feelings about is not wanting them showered with money and gifts smile x

i think the main thing is to keep on good terms with and always defer to their parents.
all the best.

I was just going to say this.

I don't know how full-on this relationship has become but if still new and a bit tenuous I'd say don't push for too much contact - and thank them for any you do have.
Always defer to mum -yes - I see her two children are "wonderful" - please remember now and again to tell her so and say what a great job she has done.

Do you bake?
Most children like to bake and don't always have much opportunity.

Good luck.
