Not obvious what the weather is doing though the forecast suggests some rain, disappointing after yesterday’s spring sunshine. Oldies’ coffee morning the highlight today and final preparation for cat’s arrival tomorrow - clearing some space in the utility room cupboards for her supplies. Other than that I have plenty of reading to get on with and need to make a couple of phone calls,

Thinking of Marydoll, Urmston and all those finding life so hard.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey, damp South Yorkshire. Had a good walk with the walking group yesterday though the leader went a bit bonkers and got us lost. We ended up on mucky ‘almost paths’, climbing over fallen trees in places. Fortunately, one of our number who is not too mobile had curtailed her walk early on or she wouldn’t have managed at all.
I called at the garden centre on the way home and bought a few plants to top up a trough by the front door. I’ll put those in today. Volunteering this afternoon.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning everyone from a dry and clear Northampton, a mild day is forecast.

Sudden change of plan yesterday meant that we didn't go to dance classes. One of the friends I go with was hospice visiting yesterday, so we decided to go to Friday dance classes instead of Thursday. It's good to have the choice of day sometimes. The classes are popular in our area, so our teacher runs them on both days.

So after lunch yesterday I hopped on the bus to Next to pick up my order, a new top for my cruise in April. Also got a cake from M&S for my coffee morning next week.

Wishing the best day for all especially those with worries and cares.

Good morning all and it’s ok ish weatherwise here in Essex .

Not much to report here , housework this morning and meeting our Friday friends at lunchtime .

Enjoy your day 🌷

Good morning from a very windy North Yorkshire.
The car was in the garage all morning and of course the regen problem resolved itself. It’s ok now…till next time. The garage are contacting VW to get some answers. I’ll not hold my breath.
Today it’s a parent group in Thirsk. We are going to be learning a bit of makaton which many local schools use.
This evening I’m off to a concert in aid of Alzheimer’s.
Thoughts to the poorlies, carers and worried.
Have the best day you can everyone

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Interesting morning at art catching up with various goings on since last November, then over to Bluewater for lunch and DH shopping. I found walking in my boot no fun at all
Today we should see DGS5 who will become a teenager this weekend. No more small GC.
Best wishes to all

Whitewavemark2 Fri 02-Feb-24 07:35:14

Good morning from the South Downs where today is for e cast dull and mild.

Yesterday was my birthday and my sister made a splendid meal for us all.

The house is also full of flowers from all the various friends and relatives. People are so kind.

Today I have nothing planned, after a busy week, which is nice, so will relax and enjoy the calm.

I have just seen that ug is taking a break during her DHs next round of treatment. Best wishes to them.

Enjoy your day all

Peace and harmony to this world.

Good morning from a cloudy, dry and mild Colchester.
We didn't win anything, so can we share your lunch Harri ?
We were pleasantly surprised at how little it will cost to get our house insulation brought up to modern spec. As we have a 70s semi in a low council tax bracket we are entitled to subsidies with no means testing.
DH is fishing so I have an empty today. I'll take the opportunity to catch up on little jobs and take a walk later.
Love to all 🦩 x

Marydoll Fri 02-Feb-24 07:31:38

Good morning all, a positively balmy day here, it's 11°C. I can hear the wind blowing, it has been like this for days.

That's worrying news about your DIL, Corner, I hope things move quickly and she gets the treatment she needs..

Oops and Pants, it sounds as if you are having a ball.

Best wishes to the Urms and also to Kalu and her lovely husband, who are in a similar situation.

Have a good day, folks.

Good morning from a dry but very windy NE yet again.
I should have known better than to put the wheelie bin out last night.
I did absolutely nothing yesterday except watching an entire thriller series on Netflix. I got so enthralled I didn't even cook a proper meal.
Today I am going out for lunch with my friend, her DH drops us off and collects us so we can enjoy a glass of wine or two.
I have just checked the Premium bonds and have had a rather nice win so lunch is on me.
Thoughts are with poorly people and their carers.

RosesandLilac Fri 02-Feb-24 07:07:29

Good morning, it’s wet here in south Glos so a soggy dog walk this morning.
Yesterday I started sorting out stuff for the charity shop and recycling, a box of books is in the car boot and I will radically reduce the amount of clothes and ‘stuff ’ I have accumulated over the years. I honestly don’t need probably a quarter or a third of it 🫣, some of which came from emptying my parents house.
That’ll keep me busy for a while!
Take care everyone 🌹

"Within the hutch"!
Gave me a laugh at least! grin

Non descript morning down South.
Have had a frustrating awkward and expensive week.

Lost a couple of, important to me, notepads. Looked high and low for them for days, literally. Now think they are under a bed. Someone will help me move the heavy bed this morning.

Had a shock of a bill from a professional. Feel a bit swindled. But it could have been ignorance on our part. But we had been told we had paid up to date on something a while back. And now told..oh I dont know. Dont want to write it all out.

I am also waiting for others to tell their somewhat bad news. Not my news to tell.

Ashcombe Fri 02-Feb-24 07:00:06

hutch = church! 🙄

Ashcombe Fri 02-Feb-24 06:58:50

Good morning from a calm and mild Torbay.

Pantglas2: I have a great fondness for Birmingham, too, having done my teacher training there then spent most of my working life about 30 miles away in Staffs.

I hope your DiL soon has reassuring news after her cardiac investigations, cornergran.

A lovely family reunion, Oopsadaisy1!

Last night, I attended Mass then a PCC meeting at which the Rural Dean outlined what is planned for when our full time priest retires in April. We shall be part of a team ministry with two neighbouring parishes, sharing two vicars and a curate. A big change for our church, where the current incumbent is a rather charismatic, hardworking man who is much loved and respected within the hutch and the community.

Have as good a day as circumstances allow. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from Malta where it’s another nice day temp around 16°C so not much change. We desperately need rain.

I’m with the boys, both up, breakfasted, washed and dressed.

Later I’m having my roots done, not ready to embrace the grey yet.😉

Sorry haven’t time to read posts yet as I feel guilty being on my phone when these little boys need attention.

Best wishes to all for a good day.☀️

Bonnybanko Fri 02-Feb-24 06:50:48

Good morning all from a very cold and windy east coast of Fife .
I’m going to the local auction house this afternoon I’ve a few things I’m going to sell. It’s a great way to get rid of things which just clutter my house.

Have a great day and keep safe

kittylester Fri 02-Feb-24 06:40:29

Good morning all from North Leicestershire where it is chilly but too dark for any other comment.

Up early this morning to go to Derby as it is Dd1's 49th birthday shock and this afternoon I have a phone follow up after my recent kidney scan.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 02-Feb-24 06:30:35

Good morning from a dark and damp Lyme Regis.
We had a lovely day yesterday, two family members left and were replaced by 3 more.
We had a lovely time at the beach yesterday, it’s was sunny and quite warm, we spent a fortune in the Crystal shop, when we get home we will use our calming, stress relieving crystals, let’s hope they work!

I’m up early to go to the beach with MzOops for her swim as soon as it’s light, then back here to start taking down decorations and begin to pack up as we all have to be out by 10am tomorrow morning, it’s a big house and there appears to be stuff in every room which belongs to someone, so it all needs to be matched up with the owners.

It’s been a good week, so many relatives have trekked down to see MissOops for her special week, 25 years ago we thought she wouldn’t make it after her cancer and since then it’s been one operation after the other, but she never complains. I’m a lucky mum to have such super daughters.

I hope we all get some sunshine in our lives today. I’ll pop back later to read other posts.

I wish all the best to Urms and her husband.

karmalady Fri 02-Feb-24 06:08:26

Good morning, dank weather today in s somerset. Drat I did want to put some washing out, would be a waste of time today

Lovely day yesterday and nice to get the tidying up done, I do sometimes need a push to do it as I don`t see messy surfaces when I am busy. My dining table is now clear, for a while as I have plans, anyway where do I keep all the bits I need for bag-making and dining table is best for that

Today I am out and about, needing some outdoor exercise.

Have a good day

cornergran Fri 02-Feb-24 06:01:34

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks damp.

Unexpected sunshine saw us head for an almost deserted beach yesterday morning. After lunch there was some satisfaction in weeding out a heap of old receipts and instructions for things we no longer have. Unfortunately the evening was bumpy, difficult news to absorb from our goddaughter and a very worrying update about our daughter in laws health, after an outpatient appointment yesterday she’ll be a day patient today for urgent cardiac investigations. The outcome isn’t expected for a few days.

Today should be a good one, volunteering this morning which is always fun and our first Tai Chi class this afternoon.

Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Pantglas2 Fri 02-Feb-24 05:54:57

Good morning Mick and all who follow from a cool but dry north Wales where the Yorkshire Gold is brewing…☕️

Well I met Ozzy 🐂 (I think it was Monk who told me about him 🤷‍♀️) and what an ‘andsome specimen he is ! Loved Birmingham and all its shops and restaurants - a couple of shared bottles 🍾🥂 and we put the world t rights as well😉

Taking Mr PG to his dermatology appointment early this morning (and my dad has another different scan next week 🤔) so will catch up with everyone’s news later - may all be well with your worlds x

grandMattie Fri 02-Feb-24 05:48:00

Good morning from a damp Bristol. I hope it stops raining by the time I walk to Spanish…
I took a lot of exercise yesterday, walking to and from various places.
I hadn’t realised that DD’s mil would be there last night. I had hoped for a chance to have a bit of a chat, as I haven’t really done much talking since Monday, but that woman can talk. Consequently, I was almost mute. Deafness doesn’t help either.
Spanish class today, then I’m baking a lemon drizzle cake for coffee in church tomorrow.
Urms, we’re going to miss you, but I understand your decision for a hiatus. All my prayers will follow you all. 🫂
Thoughts winging their way to those with difficulties. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
