Experience of district nurses please.

They and Macmillan were like that when my daughter was ill, so no surprises here.

The whole point is that I did NOT have an expected day, or week or month.

No communication whatsoever. I did not know if they had even agreed to see me.

You seem to be really angry at me for some obscure reason. Would you like to explain why please?

Thank you for your help. I wasn’t expecting an appointment just a heads up as to what day. I didn’t even know they had received the doctor’s request to visit me! I will phone GP today.

Wouldn’t it have reasonable to assume that they might call at any time during normal working hours on the appointed day? You have wasted their time. I don’t consider that you have grounds for complaint but they certainly do.

I used to manage district nurses and had them when my late husband was ill and their entitled to walk in at any time behaviour made me FURIOUS. I made the team Imanaged toe the line and TALK to people about what time they would be there. A lot of there work was urgent to fit in that day, so I get that making an appointment isn't always possible but at leSt the patient should know roughly when to expect them. Sadly no there is no national protocol but I do think you should complain.
