Good morning, Michael and all GNs. We are set for a very wet day today, but it’s still pretty mild. Yesterday I did some laundry, made a batch of chicken soup and cleaned down the gloss cabinets and tiles in my kitchen. Whoever thought gloss cabinets would be a good idea? Me of course. I was going to go for a walk but by the time I had finished in the house the weather had changed and it wasn’t very inviting. Volunteering this afternoon, but apart from that nothing planned.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from Durham, where it’s dark and raining.
Today, the gas man cometh, between 12 and 5, so I’ll carry on with the decluttering/cleaning before he/she arrives. There were thousands of cards to sort through here Corner and I was ruthless and whittled them down to a couple of dozen to keep - sad seeing those from 2 friends who died in recent years, neither of whom reached 70.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from Shropshire.Rain forecast all day.

Yesterday was an upsetting day with mum. When we arrived a neighbour came out to say that mum’s last remaining friend has been taken into hospice care.It is all very sudden.Mum and her friend have taken it in turns to ring each other every day since the start of lockdown and check each other’s curtains are open every day. They have been friends for years. It’s all so sad.

Today we are going to help DD1 after an invisible shower leak caused the ceiling in the dining room to collapse. The builder has finished so now the decorating can begin.

I’m glad you had such a special day yesterday Kalu.

Grandmabatty I hope dgs1 is feeling better today.Poor little man, this virus seems to be hanging around for him.

Thoughts with all finding life tough💐

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Bonnybanko, I usually get those tiny sample toothpaste tubes, free!, from the dentist when I travel.

Good morning my gn friends from the east coast of Fife where it’s -1. I’m hoping to finish off my packing today, my carer packed a little yesterday but the case needs looked at again. I’ve bought toothpaste tablets off Amazon and a mouthwash in tablet form too. Bet you didn’t know about this toothpaste tablet but it’s great.

Have a good day as best you can,
each day for me is trying - very trying

Good morning from a windy and damp Torbay.

I had planned an early visit to Lidl before going to Props but the weather is not encouraging so I’ll go afterwards. I doubt if conditions will have improved but at least it will be light!

I think “lazy” is the last adjective I would use to describe you, grandMattie!
Yes, RosesandLilac, I know what you mean and wish I had the energy I had even five years ago!
I hope your diabetes check up goes as you hope, Mick.
Good luck with your grandsons, Grandmabatty, and thank you for your kind comment yesterday.

Have as good a day as circumstances allow. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Morning Mick, morning All from a wet and windy corner of Somerset.

A satisfying morning yesterday tidying and beginning to sort through 55 years of greeting cards. Time to reduce the three boxes into one. All I’ll say about the afternoon is Mr C was far from impressed with our new dentist who set about treatment before the injection had time to work.

Hoping to use an afternoon tea gift voucher later, we may get blown away I fear. I’ll iron and do a little dust removal first.

You’re anything but lazy grandmattie. You’ll get to the boxes - as my ma in law used to say ‘one day when I feel like it’. Good luck with your nurse appointment mick.

Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and damp. Kalu I'm glad yesterday was a good day for you both.
I had to pick up dgs1 from nursery at lunchtime yesterday because he was still unwell. He had a headache which had lasted all night and was both exhausted and in pain. He slept for a couple of hours and still had the headache when he woke. Dd said he perked up a lot last night so I hope he's recovered. Dgs2 had a really good day. Drawing, reading, playing with cars etc.
Today will be much the same. Hopefully dgs1 is well enough to go back to nursery. If not, I'll have both boys. I think today might be a playdough one. If I have the mental strength. 😂Have a good day all

Good morning from Glasgow. Heavy rain and high winds continue. I have to keep telling myself, spring is just around the corner….

I had a rude awakening at 5.00am by the cat shouting at me to open the cat flap. Yes, I have the same talent as GD2 who, when she was a toddler told me she can speak cat.
We had a lovely surprise visit yesterday from DD1 and GD1 whom we see less and less of now she is a teenager with a busy social life. Fortunately it was one of DH’s good days which made the day a bit more special.

A few bits of admin needs attention other than that we will just take the day as it comes. There is always the to do list to glance at.

Hoping a good day is ahead for all especially for those with difficult times no matter what they may be.

Good morning, another day of grim weather in s somerset. Rain forecast later and strong windy gusts

I was hoping to cycle to send a large letter, no post office here and the nearest is several miles away along rural lanes, it is too windy for that. It will mean taking the car, what a waste. I had also hoped to be cleaning algae off the car window seals today but I will wait until the weather is enticing

Craft group was brilliant yesterday, we don`t do much apart from chat and laugh. Older women can be so lovely, funny and knowledgeable.

A basic indoor day today, a bit more sewing on my new hoodie, which I love making. I also want to cut out my new coat, I am in need of a lighter coat as I donated my last one, which became too big on me. I am liking these complicated sews, takes me into a peaceful realm, far away from world troubles

Have a good day

Good morning, it’s bucketing down here in south Glos.

I think I might have overdone it over the weekend, after a wandering dog walk yesterday morning I felt decidedly ‘off’, so spent the afternoon doing nothing and went to bed very early.
It’s so frustrating, I go from fine to not really fine 😵‍💫
I haven’t made marmalade for years grandMattie, there really isn’t anything nicer on toast than homemade marmalade 😋. I used to make a year’s worth every January.
Take care everyone 🌹

grandMattie Tue 06-Feb-24 05:40:31

Good morning from a damp Bristol. It has rained overnight, more is promised + lots of strong wind.
Toddler group was popular yesterday, the noise levels were high, I came home exhausted.
I prepared two batches of marmalade, leaving the “sugaring” for today. I could have finished them then but decided that it wasn’t worth busting a gut as I have plenty of time to do it today.
I really must stop procrastinating and unpack the final boxes but…. too lazy! Tomorrow? 😄
I hope you find some peace and kindness today, something to be grateful for. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but looks dry outside this morning here in brackley .
Usual routine but with changes , I will go to Bicester do a small shop and maybe a coffee , but return early as I have a appointment at my surgery as to the Diabetes update with one of practice nurses with a time allowance of 30 minutes .
I hope there might be changes , as I have cut back due to other surgery last year ,and alcoholic consumption is very small so a decrease in sugar levels .
Take Care,
Mick
