Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but the ground is wet here in brackley this morning.
Tempted to go out later this morning, but will wait for daylight to see what it looks like .
If the weather maps are right , there should be snow for those living north of the Watford Gap services .
Have a good day whatever ,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a very wet Bristol. It has been raining steadily all night and the same is promised for the rest of the day. At least, there is no wind!
I went to a ladies’ group in the afternoon. The talk was on Wills, PoAs, etc. not much fun, but very necessary to remind us to put our affairs in order while we still had our marbles about us.
What was really interesting is that I’ve been going to that group for 6 months. I joined because it was the only way I could join a local Taichi group (don’t ask). Yesterday, mirabile dictu, no fewer than three people actually talked to me. Before that, I was left severely on my own!
Tai chi and DD’s for dinner today.
Hope all medical procedures went well yesterday. I trust that today will be kind to you all.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning, it is grim weather in s somerset, pouring down, dark skies much of the day and maybe one short bright spell

Hoodie is finished and is very lovely, it wa a good winter project. Next has to be the coat for coming out of winter, probably just cutting out today and assembling all the bits and bobs

Potential bus route removal made me get myself into gear, hair dresser will now be local and I finally decided to get myself to local specsavers after too long a gap, having usually gone to Taunton. A short bus ride away to specsavers on the one remaining service. Today I need to start gathering my finances for that, I am expecting £7-800 for new specs with good varifocals

Have a good day

Good morning from a very wet hillside in south Glos, it’s bucketing down here.too.
Yesterday after the dog’s routine vet check I dropped DH and her off part way back so she had a good walk while I came home and tidied up.
Today I have an Ocado delivery then stitch club this afternoon in the village.
It’s going to rain pretty much all day so a wet dog walk or two at some point 🙄
Take care everyone 🌹

Good morning, Mick - it's Thursday today - from a very wet Torbay. Yes, snow indeed looks likely for our friends in the North. ⛄️ ❄️ ⛄️

Thank you for the welcome supportive comments regarding my brain scan yesterday which were really helpful to read. The staff were pleased to have achieved a clear image at the end of the procedure which was more of a challenge for me than the heart scan of a couple of years ago. I have to wait a few weeks for my consultant to be in touch with the results and next steps.

Today, by contrast, I shall enjoy the treat of having my hair done, despite the heavy rain. It’s overdue and my hair so long, I’m in danger of being mistaken for a character I once played: the Wicked Witch of the West! 🧙

My thoughts with those below par or facing tough times. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning all from a dry North Leicestershire. We have been promised all sorts of extreme weather but none has arrived yet.

Up very early as DH has a colonoscopy this morning. We have to get to the hospital for 9.15 so need to set off early to fight our way through all the morning traffic.

Nothing else until a Sainsbury's delivery at tea time.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Susan56 Thu 08-Feb-24 06:51:30

Good morning from Shropshire. It is raining at the moment and looking at the forecast we are no longer expecting snow.

I’m sure you are glad to have yesterdays scan over and done with Ash and hope the results are good with not too long of a wait.

It’s daunting starting new groups grandMattie.Well done for sticking it out and glad people are finally including you in the conversations.

Another day of decorating at DD’s today after a podiatry appointment at 9.Yesterday we made good progress although I left them to it after school pick up and took DGD into town.

Hope all medical appointments go well today.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Morning Mick, morning All from a seriously soggy corner of Somerset.

Finished one box of cards yesterday in spite of the computers reluctance to play nicely. Coffee with our next door neighbours this morning and a development budget meeting this afternoon. Suspect a low turnout, although the venue is just a few minutes stroll away torrential rain will be a deterrent.

Best of luck to mr leicester, hope all is well. Folk are strange for sure grandmattie. Clear images are good news ash, you must have been an excellent patient and not fidgeted.

Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

Greyduster Thu 08-Feb-24 07:09:17

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s dry in South Yorkshire with a light frost at the moment but today we have a yellow warning for snow, so no walking group this morning. My heating has decided to do odd things. It completely ignored the thermostat and the Hive app on my phone and decided to do its own thing. The house is not cold enough for it to override the settings. Another thing to worry about. Nothing much planned today. I need to go to the supermarket before the weather gets too bad.
Have the best day you can, folks.

brook2704 Thu 08-Feb-24 07:17:53

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s very cold at about -4º and still dark with snow on the ground
Thank you all for your comments yesterday for a safe journey home. We arrived home early afternoon and quickly checked all was ok at home - I always worry and breathe a sigh of relief when everything is ok and exactly as we left it! Then we got straight back into out normal routine with picking up DGD from school and her staying for her Wednesday sleepover. This morning we’re doing the school run then back home to unpack and put away all the summer clothes for a while. This afternoon I’ve got a volunteering session on zoom so I’ll have to do some prep for that too
Thinking of everwuth worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Right date , wrong day apologies as to error .

Good morning and yes it’s pouring here in Essex. I think most of us will have bad weather but no snow for us down here. Take care those with snow and ice ❄️⛸️.

I will take little DGD to school as it’s so wet and then bowls group later. We have a couple of new members and another starting today. They’ve never played before so it is a bit frustrating but we must be kind and tolerate them. We all have to start somewhere. 😬.

Dh joined the virgin sports centre yesterday and has a couple of free guest passes , so we might have a swim this afternoon.
I used to belong but wasn’t really making the most of it.,(too many other things to enjoy).

I’m glad your scan went well Ash . 🤞 you hear the results soon.
Hope all goes well for your dh Kitty.
GM well done for persevering with the ladies group. It’s difficult to join when you don’t know anyone. I’m sure you’ll soon get to know people. 👍.

Take care all and try to keep dry. 🌷

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 08-Feb-24 07:29:47

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It might be raining, but I haven’t looked yet.
Today will be quieter than yesterday although my stained glass group was fun and the WI meeting not too onerous.
I’ll be typing up the notes from that meeting today and circulating them to the rest of the committee. OH and I have are having lunch out so no need to cook dinner tonight.
Our new lounge lampshades are being delivered today. I’ll post a photo if they look good!
Have a good and peaceful day.

Pittcity Thu 08-Feb-24 07:30:12

Good morning from cold, rainy Colchester.
DH has a meeting this morning. I'll take the opportunity to hoover and mop. I'll change our bed and get the iron and washing machine on.

Yesterday's surveyor contradicted everything that the man told us last week. We do qualify for free loft insulation but will need extra ventilation measures before we can have it installed. Apparently draughty doors and windows don't count.
We dubbed the surveyors Laurel and Hardy 😉

Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from an,as yet,dry Suffolk. Off for a physio appt before my stretch class. The self referral system works well and speedily..

I reminisced with the optician yesterday how diffferent an eye test is now to when I first had one at 9 years old,65+ years ago. The scan of the eye is fascinating.

Hair appt tomorrow and then I’ll feel like I’ve had a good body examination.

Will read posts later but must now be up and off.

Good morning from Cornwall where it's, yes, very wet! Craft group was fun - I took a large Iron Man model found in a charity shop for the ex-biker guy who sits and sews. He collects them and was so delighted he hugged me. I made a cushion from denim while others did patchwork, which I've done loads of over the years. Biker guy continued sewing his Jimi Hendrix image, destined one day for the back of his jacket.

Then took a bus to another town and bought two DVDs in CEX, a shop I love for their bargains.

I've borrowed a library book about the artist Laura Knight so I think I'll sit on a bus to Hayle and read that today. Her paintings are lovely, as per the attachment.

Georgesgran Thu 08-Feb-24 07:52:58

Good morning from Durham. A very cold start and yes, a warning of snow. I hope that’s how it stays - just a warning.
Pleased that I got a lot of heavy stuff to the charity shop yesterday. I drove to a shopping centre, where trolleys are allowed, so was able to load one from the car and push it right to the shop.
Going to visit the DDs today - both are poorly and off work, one with a slipped disc, while the other has a heavy cold and hacking cough. I’m taking some of my ‘clutter’ that they want.
Best wishes to all. X

luluaugust Thu 08-Feb-24 07:58:35

Good morning from a wet W Kent. art group this morning I can’t quite decide whether to go unfortunately it has got very repetitive I think the years are catching up with us a bit, although we do have a good chat most of it medical.
Glad everything went to plan Ash
Hope all goes well for your DH Kitty
Best wishes to all

Good morning from a very rainy Black Country, where it is forecast for all day!

MrJ had a lovely birthday yesterday. Some funny cards too. Still went to gym in the morning though. Fantastic meal last night. Shared a Dessert, as they are so big these days.

Doubt I will go on my Thursday walk this morning, as heavy rain predicted all day. So it looks like a day at home. Lots of books to read though.

Wishing you all the best day possible

GrannyGravy13 Thu 08-Feb-24 07:58:56

Morning all 👋

It’s raining ☔️, I have nothing planned so no idea how the day will go.

The 8 yr GS has Egyptian day at school, he is going as Tutankhamen (curtesy of Amazon not mine or DD’s sewing ability)

Stay dry and warm 🙋‍♀️

NannyJan53 Thu 08-Feb-24 08:00:52

One of his cards smile

Grandmabatty Thu 08-Feb-24 08:01:34

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently -3°, very frosty with low clouds. The snow forecast yesterday didn't arrive but today looks more likely, worse luck.
Pittcity that's annoying when the experts can't agree. Kittylester I wish your DH well for his procedure.
Yesterday I visited my friend's partner for coffee and to see how he was doing. He's still going through her things from the loft and gave me some photos, one of which was a group photo when we were in a nativity play at six years old. We were both Wise Men. I'll take it to a catch up with other friends later this month. In the afternoon I visited mum. Yesterday she was chatty but not making a lot of sense.
Today is art class again. I have new tools to play with and I'll work on my snowdrop head. Then I'll take my friend home before heading home myself. Salmon salad for dinner. I'm finishing off what's in the fridge so there might be some odd combinations of things. Have a good day all

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is -3°C, we have snow forecast for tomorrow. DH has booked a round of golf! 😂

I am looking forward to doing very little today and praying I begin to feel more human. 😉

Karma, I got two new pairs of variofocals, with anti-glare and reactolite lenses from Specsaver's designer range for less than £600 just before Christmas.
I have noticed that the lenses seem to be of a superior quality from last year's. (I need a new prescription every year).
You are then entitled to a 20% discount on every subsequent pair.

Good luck with all the medical appointments.

Have a good day folks.

baubles Thu 08-Feb-24 08:04:58

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where there is a hard frost which looks very pretty.

I carried on with the book and games cull yesterday and our piano room now looks tidy and usable a. That’s a very grand name for a little room which houses the piano, book shelves and craft drawers. The yarn stash box has been relocated to the garage.

DH has set up a table in the spare bedroom for his model making which means he can leave the current project there instead of having to clear away constantly.

A productive day all round.

Today will be a quiet one. Just a couple of desserts to make to take to DS’s house tomorrow. His mother out law, who is staying for a while, is preparing a meal to celebrate Lunar New Year. They celebrate all the various holidays from their childrens’ heritage.

Good wishes for those having medical appointments. Hoping everyone has the best possible day.

Purplepixie Thu 08-Feb-24 08:09:39

Good morning from a very wet and cold East Midlands. Another day forward and I feel a lot better. We get our new front door and frame fitted today - typical when snow is forecast! I will be in the kitchen, in the warm and doing a bit of embroidery or reading. Have a lovely day everyone. Hugs to those feeling unwell or low on mood.
