Good morning from South Lanarkshire, raining as ever but I am feeling much chirpier than of late thanks to a lovely restorative couple of hours spent with a Gransnet pal the other day.

I always envy all the art and crafting abilities on here so I’m glad to be able to share the achievement of my DGS.
His class project has been The Vikings and the teacher suggested that the children could make a model of a Viking boat over the February break.
My grandson and his dad are both neurodivergent and I am posting pictures of their achievement. They are thrilled with themselves, it took four children to carry it in from their van😂
I keep thinking of the teacher’s face!!

Good morning from a dry and sunny East Midlands. It has been raining a lot but it brightened up now. Another day of rest and it is 3.5 weeks since the operation. Up and up. Hugs to all of you who are suffering or low on mood.

Good morning from another dreich wet day in Dunblane. Getting a bit fed up with this weather as it does not encourage me to go out at all. It was a reasonable day on Monday and we had a run to the Loch Leven larder where we enjoyed a nice lunch. We felt the food shop area was poor though this time. Like everywhere prices have risen considerably we don’t go out for lunch as much as we used too. We didn’t go for our usual walk around the loch as there was a bitingly cold wind and rain was threatening. On Tuesday we went into Stirling as I had a mobile phone problem they were worse than useless and at night after a couple of hours I managed to sort it myself. Success. We did get some other bits and pieces when we were there so not a wasted journey.
Yesterday was an extremely lazy day went through my kitchen cupboards and through out some out of date ingredients e.g desiccated coconut from 2019!! How did I miss that before? Today a pile of ironing awaits then we will take it as it goes. Schools here are on midterm break so we are missing the cheery “Hello granny and grandad” when DGd2 comes in after school on Wednesday and Thursdays. Mind you the snack cupboard is enjoying the rest!

Good morning from a rainy NE but it is mild with 14 degrees expected later.
Lovely lunch out with DS, he had steak and I had a pasta dish with prawns, the portion sizes were large so we decided against more than one course.
We went shopping after lunch which was good because I just shopped for the essentials instead of letting hunger dictate.
DS got chocolates for DIL and GDs, well he wouldn't be home until about 8.30 last night. I did tell him I would be fine if he wanted to spend the day with his wife but he assured me they did not make a fuss of Valentine's day.
Quiet day for me, maybe try and decluttr a cupboard before binmen tomorrow.

DD3 gave me some Panadol cold and flu which have worked wonders and I’m now feeling more human. Helped of course by these two little boys who are as good as gold.

I’m very sorry you’ve had a fall Jax, it’s such a shock when you feel yourself going down and can do nothing about it. Hope you recover soon.

Good morning from a damp & dismal Sefton. It's not actually raining at the moment but rain is forecast for the rest of the day.
Called in at the nursery (plants not children) on the way home from Pilates yesterday & bought some yellow & apricot primulas & dwarf daffs. My pots now looking a lot more cheerful.
Have woken up feeling out of sorts - aches & pains, upset tum. Feel like an old woman this morning. Oh! I am an old woman!
Will rethink today's plans. Have already swerved this morning's zumba class & OH can get the fish. But will definitely stir myself to get to the travel agent to pick up our travel tickets for our upcoming & much needed week in the sun.
Sorry to hear about your tumble Jax. So easy with this continual wet weather making everywhere slimy & slippy. Look after yourself.

Good morning from as sunny so far N Surrey. You never stop worrying about your AC.
My daughter with long covid has had a terrible cough for the last 2 weeks. Actually got a face to face with the GP who said it sounds like whooping cough which she had badly as a 5 year old. Now on antibiotics.
I bought 3 pots of daffodils in Waitrose this morning and will re pot into the kitchen sill window box. I do this each year and they pop up again in the garden in the spring. The gift to me that goes on giving. Have a good day.

Nothing exciting to report here. Another “wait and see” day, but I think we might go out for coffee somewhere later today, just to get out. I feel so unmotivated at this time of year.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy and damp Northampton, sunny spells and showers forecast later.

My neighbour's funeral yesterday was very moving and attended by a host of people; one thing that surprised us was that she had Italian grandparents, and lived with them in Italy until she was five, and only spoke Italian until then.

A Sainsbury's delivery later this morning, then shall just potter and read; I may th another load of washing in the new machine.
I completely emptied the old garage freezer yesterday and unplugged it to defrost; must go and check it and clean it out today. The new one arrives next week.

I took a tumble yesterday, slipped on the slimy patio, my own fault, inappropriate shoes and I know to be careful out there. So I’m rather incapacitated, which is frustrating and painful, MrJ found a stick in the village charity shop, a godsend.

Good morning from a damp and dull Black Country. Where it rained off and on all day yesterday.

MrJ cooked a meal yesterday for Valentines day, duck breast in an orange sauce. Probably sausage and baked potato tonight!

Thursday walk this morning, then a coffee at walks end in our favourite canal side pub.

Good morning from a dry and bright coastal West Sussex. Sorry for all of you with continuing rain. We are off to Cambridge later for a few days away, including visits with some friends in the area.

Kalu, I love collecting twigs and seedheads. The shapes are so sculptural.

Signs of spring are multiplying here in the south - daffodils on the verges, buds starting to open on trees and shrubs.

I am planning a bit of a digital detox for lent so will post even more irregularly than usual 🙂. I will keep an eye and always be thinking of those with extra challenges.

An empty day in prospect but a concert in Bath this evening to look forward to so I will press on with reading William Hague’s excellent biography of William Wilberforce. This is to be discussed at the end of March but is a seriously big read so I am getting ahead of myself as this is not something to dip into at bed time - needs concentration. Awful forecast for later so hope getting to Bath is not problematic.

Poor DD had booked a romantic Vakentine's day dinner with SIL, but the antibiotics for the huge access in her mouth were making her sick and she was absolutely miserable..
She messaged last night to say the abcess had burst. I felt so helpless and sorry for her. As a mum, you never stop worrying.
