My friend has just texted me to ask a question. She asks “In Coronation Street how do they get Paul up the stairs to the flat in a wheel chair?” I’m thinking there was some kind of alteration to help but I might be imagining it. Obviously he has to be carried but I suggested that if anyone could help it would be Gransnetters. Thank you everyone we await your superior input.

They had a stair lift fitted. Don’t know how they get his wheelchair upstairs though, electric ones are heavy.

I thought they fitted a stair lift thingy didn’t they? didn’t mister ‘burn his workshop down’ do it

Thank you so much. I thought they had to do something but couldn’t remember what. I suppose as they can fit umpteen people in their houses a small problem like the weight of an electric wheel chair wouldn’t phase them.

You are right BlueBell . Thank you so much. My friend can now sleep without the problem worrying her.

why didn't you ask on the corrie thread? just wondered

It has not been worked out properly. I possess a stairlift and know it would be impossible to take a heavy unfoldable wheelchair up and down it.

Ed fitted a stairlift. Lots of glaring omissions on Corrie these days.

You are right. I could have done. Not thinking straight.

My dh has said the chair would be left downstairs but not sure there would be room.

Don't worry lovetopaint , posting on the incorrect thread is not an offense!! Easily done and no big deal .

Paul has two wheelchairs - the big electric one is for outside and it stays at the bottom of the stairs in a lobby. They had to have the doorway altered to accommodate it. He then has a stairlift to get upstairs, where he has a smaller indoor wheelchair to use in the flat.
And I'm ashamed of myself for knowing all this!

I imagine there's a porch at the bottom in which the electric wheelchair is left...
So I think you' re right, Bobblesack...

😂😂😂 You do know it's not real don't you .

That solves the mystery completely. Well done. Thank you and don’t be ashamed for knowing the details. I must have watched the same as you but just forgot completely.
