Good morning Mick and all who follow. It's a bright but cloudy 7° on the Angus coast - we seem to be having rainy days alternating with bright dry days at the moment. Nothing like the warmth of Down South though - DD reported an impressive 17° on her lunchtime dog walk yesterday in Notts! Anyway, washing in and almost ready to be pegged out, with hope that it will dry outside as it did on Monday.
Tai chi went well yesterday, BUT. I was feeling delighted that the low tides this year coincide with our preferred time on Saturday mornings for our Tai Chi on the Beach sessions and was looking forward to our first foray on Easter weekend - just somewhere for coffee afterwards to sort out once I had numbers from all the different groups. Then someone pointed out that the storms this year have made access to the beaches (we have 7 miles of beaches here) virtually impossible! Some more investigation is clearly needed before I can say job done.
Jax so sorry you've hurt your knee - you'll need to take it easy for a while. So tragic about your friend's s-i-l Mizuna .

Morning all from a bright and sunny West Oxfordshire.
Younger son has nearly eaten us out of house and home! I’m always first up so had to pop to the shops for a loaf of bread and some milk.
I will drive him to Oxford later to get the train back to London. I have a bit of shopping to do, including a plastic fish slice. My current one is around forty years old and the end fell off when I was making pancakes.
When I get home I have admin to do. Including booking our two cats (Milo and Ripley) in for their annual check up. They are nearly 14 (72 in human years) and seem to be doing well. A little slower and more affectionate, but aren’t we all?

Good morning from Glasgow. Misty and drizzly, Hey ho.

I stuck to my list at Waitrose yesterday apart from a Lulu Guinness beach bag with her signature read lips on the front. A beach bag is of no use to me but DD2 who likes LG’s bags will find plenty of use for it in OZ. The bag was only £12, probably cost more to post but I know she will like it.

An at home day to fill whatever takes my mood. Always plenty to do indoors and never boring.

So sad for your friend’s young family Mizuna.

Drying up after a wild and wet evening and night which made our drive to Bath for the Tenebrae concert interesting. Well worth the effort, though - sublime Bach by ten wonderful singers, real food for the soul.

Oldies’ coffee morning and domestic tasks for today so a nice enough day. Sympathy to Marydoll who is having a very hard time, and to all of us finding life tough. Spring will be more than welcome.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s a bright start to the day.
Shopping and gardening today. This evening I’m going to the Jazz Club. We used to go quite often but have rarely been since the pandemic as it’s always very crowded. Several friends still go regularly and one has broken her leg so the ticket has come to me. I do most of my socialising in the daytime in winter so this will be a rare treat.

Good morning from a damp looking Suffolk which we reached last night after a tiresome journey home from York because of train cancellations.

We enjoyed a lovely few days there with younger daughter and family who we haven’t seen for several months because of the distance and their busy lives. We haven’t visited the National Railway Museum since our children,now in their 40s were teenagers and we were very impressed with the changes,especially a newly opened interactive science’lab’. That was a great hit with the children and enjoyed by the adults( mainly because of watching them!).

It is half term in that area and the museum was very busy which is not surprising as it is free and a wonderful resource for the area.

Nothing planned for today apart from a dog walk and some local shopping. Hope those with worries for themselves or loved ones find some comfort today.

Off to childmind today. DS has been having central heating installed this week and DDoutL and the children had decamped to an Airbnb for the duration.

We will take the older two out, other grandmother will mind the youngest while their parents restore some kind of order.

Good morning everyone from a damp but brightening Northampton, sunny spells forecast and mild.

Had a day in yesterday and managed to get lots of things done. Gave my en-suite a deep clean then tried a woollen wash in the new machine, and hung the jumpers up on the line as it was so mild. Completed defrosting the old garage freezer, mopped up the remaining water and cleaned out the inside. And actually got round to tidying the study, and dusting the numerous bookshelves.

Dance classes this morning - it seems to work well, changing to Friday classes from Thursday; I enjoy having the whole day free on Thursday to get a few things done. Maybe a coffee after classes with a friend.

Things come in threes, don't they? First the freezer and washing machine, now it looks as though my tablet is on its last legs, taking ages to charge and running down really quickly. Still it's been good for 6 years, much longer than my previous ones. I will stick with a Kindle Fire, as Amazon do a quick and easy transfer of everything.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and damp. Mizuna that's such sad news for the family.
Yesterday was a bit of a non event because I didn't feel great. I rested a lot and managed to sort out my wool stash ready to give to a community group. I'm glad someone can make use of it.
Because I rested yesterday, I slept really badly last night. Typical. I have dgs2 for a couple of hours this morning while dd has a hair appointment. Definitely need to visit mum this afternoon. Macaroni cheese for dinner. Have a good day all

Good morning from Durham.
Apparently it’s going to be dry and windy today, so I’ll get DD2’s towels out on the line before I meet a friend for coffee later, then a walk with Little Dog. There are masses of daffodils where we go, but none in flower yet, although there are lots of snowdrops and such a lot of birdsong yesterday. Hope the weather holds for the weekend.
The ‘new’ car passed its MOT yesterday, without the need for any work - a bit of a novelty!

Good morning from a damp W Kent. Yesterday’s trip to Bluewater was difficult as DH put his back out as he got out of the car, we hobbled round Marks, me with my boot on and him hobbling along, I can only imagine what we looked like but people kept kindly moving away from us! Anyway mission accomplished and SIL’s present bought.
We have some lunch booked out today so will hobble along there.

Good morning from a very mild Shropshire.

DD just messaged to say she is on the way here with the grandchildren.She has lots of meetings today so the children will stay over.They have some craft projects to complete for school for St David’s day and World Book Day.Grandpa is good at crafts and very patient.I have a hair appointment at 5.30.I was meant to go on Monday but as we are going out tomorrow my hairdresser very kindly fitted me in at the end of the day.

Pantglas DD and I have had a couple of delicious afternoon teas at The Lemon Tree.Hope you have a wonderful time on your cruise.

Morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 7°C. At the moment, I am sitting on a hot water bottle, (it is heavenly) kindly brought by DH. I seem to be in the middle of an RA flare up, my pain levels are excruciating and I have had little sleep as has *Mr MD*.
I can't wait for my next RA appointment in March and hopefully some steroid injections.

He is off out golfing and I have an empty. However, I'm hoping the spasms will ease and I plan to make the effort to go out for a couple of hours. I am becoming a recluse again and need to be proactive and not wallow.

GM, I will eat all your marmalade, if no-one likes it, the bitter the better for me. I was talking about making some the other day, as well as pickling beetroot (DD has been nagging me), but I just don't have the energy.
DH will only eat home pickled beetroot now. I had made some, but SIL snaffled that batch!

Good morning all and it’s damp but mild here in Essex.

I’m missing my seaside cottage but a photo I took there has created a lot of interest. I’ll do some research when next there, hopefully in a couple of weeks time.

Today we’ll meet our Friday group for lunchtime drinks. I wonder how much longer the landlady can carry on. She’s 90 now and has no help. Last week she wasn’t feeling too good so one of our chaps ‘did’ the bar , we paid up and left her to rest up. No other customers arrived. 🤔

Good morning, Michael all GNs. It feels very mild this morning, my heating has not come on. It was so nice yesterday that I was able to sit in the conservatory with the doors open! I’m full of aches and pains from gardening yesterday; pruning roses and cutting back dead plants - filled the green bin! The ground is still too wet to do much else. Lots of stuff pushing through already, but I don’t think the winter weather has finished with us yet. Food shopping today and then a walk if it stays dry.

Good morning from a mild, damp Colchester. It's rained overnight but there's cloud and sunshine in the forecast. The heating hasn't bumped on for the first time in ages as it is so warm.
Today we are driving into greater London to meet old friends for lunch. We've only recently got back in touch after over 30 years, so loads to catch up on.
