Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but maybe a bit misty outside here in brackley .
Plans for the day apart from bus trip to coffee and shop in Bicester is to use my new air fryer and do some Fish & Chips as I had planned the previous week.
Watch cycling on TV this afternoon and relax etc.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick from a damp and dark north Wales where I’m enjoying my lovely first chamberpot of Yorkshire Gold ☕️ and planning my busy day after some Valentines gallivanting!

Gala - Wrexham does indeed have a lovely vibe about it these days and the small hotel we stayed at, The Lemontree, was delightful with delicious food for dinner and the breakfast was stunning with homemade sourdough, hash brown, black pudding and even the tomato sauce! 😋

Mr PG is an absolute tosser Beechnut…😂 his pancakes 🥞 are so much better than mine because I tend to worry about calories and skimp on the butter and sugar! Of course that’s exactly what makes them so moreish isn’t it!

We’ve had the most worrying few weeks here at PG Towers with all stuff medical but my nursing friend has chivvied me out of doom and gloom with her reasoned advice and we had the all clear yesterday to carry on 🚢 so I’ll take my fortnights leave of you good people and wish you too some blessings in that department 🙏 x

Good morning Mick and followers, it’s damp here in south Glos, not cold . I’ve been awake since 2am 🙄, getting a bit bored now as can’t do anything until DH is up.
I will put everything back in the airing cupboard (DH has painted it), I need to sort out the contents as there’s an accumulation of stuff that needs recycling or the charity shop.
Dog walker comes this morning so dog will be happy.
Fish fingers and chips, peas for lunch.
Nothing else planned, I suspect I will be tired this afternoon.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Morning Mick, morning All. No idea what it’s doing outside, our corner of Somerset is forecast a very welcome dry day

Some more sorting yesterday morning before an enjoyable few hours with our teenagers. After our meal the elder disappeared to see her boyfriend leaving the younger to talk for the world. Their exhausted Dad arrived later, working three hours away away this week he’d had a long drive. A chat with him while he ate a re-heated meal before he disappeared home with his younger daughter. No worries about him falling asleep during the 75 minute drive, there would be constant chatter to keep him alert. The logistics of their lives seem more than complex at times.

Volunteering and Tai Chi for me today. Looking forward to both. Mr C will take it easy this morning, he’s very tired at the moment.

Hope Friday is kind to us all

Good morning from a dry Bristol. It was odd having glorious sunshine first thing then pouring rain in the afternoon.
I finished the blood orange marmalade. It is very sweet and quite bitter, I hope people like it.
The evening at DD’s was a bit fraught. Why is it that the children always choose dinner to have tantrums? We had the usual from Iris, but the usually equable DGD1 was pushed a little too far by her father regarding her forthcoming GCSE choices.
No Spanish today, half term. I’ll sew.
I hope the forth weekend is kind. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a dry and mild NE.
I was having a lovely dream about DH, I could hear him in the shower getting ready for work, I could even smell his aftershave. Then I woke up with tummy ache.
Nothing planned for today, will just potter around and tidy up ready for the weekend.
Take care all.

Good morning, it will be a nice sunny day in s somerset

I have no plans at all today and it is too soggy underfoot for anything much out of doors. It will be quite warm and I need to scrub algae off the car window trims. I have the products and today would be a good day to do that

A bit of coat sewing and some reading, it might even be warm enough to take the covers off the wooden benches and sit outside. I`ll take today as it comes

Have a good day

Mizuna Fri 16-Feb-24 06:26:33

Good morning from Cornwall where it's bracingly cold and clear on my patio. A grand day for walking or in my case hobbling. 😁

Unexpected visit from my daughter-in-law yesterday, with bunches of narcissi. Took me back to a sunny February morning years ago when I arrived on Scilly and the air was full of narcissi scent. We nattered for hours, especially about Vivienne Westwood's fashion sense for some peculiar reason.

This morning I'll continue cushion-making - found some lovely fabric in my cache; a deconstructed summer dress. Then I'll visit my friend whose son-in-law had the stroke two weeks ago. Yesterday the family heard that he won't recover and that impacts on our close group of friends. I'll take her flowers as she really loves them. She'll have many challenges ahead supporting her daughter and grandchildren.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 16-Feb-24 06:41:48

Morning all 👋

I have been awake since 5am, now given up on trying to get back to sleep. Gym first thing, then going with DiL 4 to watch GS’s gymnastics class.

Chinese takeaway for dinner tonight.

Have a good day everyone 🙋‍♀️

Whitewavemark2 Fri 16-Feb-24 06:45:28

Good morning from the South Downs, another dry day forecast.

Yesterday was the warmest day so far this year, so after cutting back, potting spring pots and sweeping the terrace nearest the house we - the dog and I - sat in the sun and relaxed. We watched DH cutting up a very old rotting garden seat in the pergola in preparation for our brand new one being delivered on Monday - expect rain thereafter!!

Hair cut today - which must be done, but I hate wasting time on a sunny day. I need to inspect the delphinium bed, as I have a horrible feeling that some have been lost to this wet winter. They have been wonderful, year after year and I would really miss them. Photo is of my favourite colour.

Enjoy your day one and all

Peace and harmony

Good morning from a mild Torbay with sunshine expected.

How tragic for your friend's SiL, Mizuna. She will appreciate your thoughtful support.
Dreams like yours are poignant, harrigran - hope you feel better now.
Bon voyage, Pantglas2!

Yesterday was busy at times because we had all the carpets and rugs cleaned. This entailed much moving of smaller items to enable the chap access to do the (long overdue!) work. Afterwards, the dehumidifier certainly earned its keep!

As I’m meeting three friends from my exercise class for lunch today, DH will take himself off somewhere by train. Luckily, we are promised a sunny day.

Happy weekend to you all! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Bellasnana Fri 16-Feb-24 06:55:33

Good morning from Malta where we have another pleasant day weather wise.

The boys were both up when I arrived, one of them had been up since 5.30 so his mum has gone to work feeling very tired.

I’m feeling heaps better today, thank you all for your kindness yesterday. Really appreciated.

Hope you all have the best day possible.☀️

Pittcity Fri 16-Feb-24 07:13:12

Good morning from a mild, damp Colchester. It's rained overnight but there's cloud and sunshine in the forecast. The heating hasn't bumped on for the first time in ages as it is so warm.
Today we are driving into greater London to meet old friends for lunch. We've only recently got back in touch after over 30 years, so loads to catch up on.
Love to all 🦩 x

Greyduster Fri 16-Feb-24 07:18:39

Good morning, Michael all GNs. It feels very mild this morning, my heating has not come on. It was so nice yesterday that I was able to sit in the conservatory with the doors open! I’m full of aches and pains from gardening yesterday; pruning roses and cutting back dead plants - filled the green bin! The ground is still too wet to do much else. Lots of stuff pushing through already, but I don’t think the winter weather has finished with us yet. Food shopping today and then a walk if it stays dry.
Have the best day you can folks.

Gala Fri 16-Feb-24 07:30:35

Good morning from Sefton where it is mild & damp underfoot with, yet again, more rain forecast.
Have had a good night's sleep & feeling much better for it. Apart from 2 zoom exercise classes this morning I have no plans for today. The 'office' has become something of a dumping ground so I really should spend some time in there having a good sort out. That'll do for today .
Hope you all have a good start to the weekend. Bon Voyage Pantglas.

kittylester Fri 16-Feb-24 07:39:20

Good morning all from a very soggy North Leicestershire.

DD2 and family arrive this evening for the weekend so lots of prep to do and a visit to the butcher to fit in.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Gingster Fri 16-Feb-24 07:42:41

Good morning all and it’s damp but mild here in Essex.

I’m missing my seaside cottage but a photo I took there has created a lot of interest. I’ll do some research when next there, hopefully in a couple of weeks time.

Today we’ll meet our Friday group for lunchtime drinks. I wonder how much longer the landlady can carry on. She’s 90 now and has no help. Last week she wasn’t feeling too good so one of our chaps ‘did’ the bar , we paid up and left her to rest up. No other customers arrived. 🤔

Take care everyone and have a ‘good’ day.

Marydoll Fri 16-Feb-24 07:42:53

Morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 7°C. At the moment, I am sitting on a hot water bottle, (it is heavenly) kindly brought by DH. I seem to be in the middle of an RA flare up, my pain levels are excruciating and I have had little sleep as has *Mr MD*.
I can't wait for my next RA appointment in March and hopefully some steroid injections.

He is off out golfing and I have an empty. However, I'm hoping the spasms will ease and I plan to make the effort to go out for a couple of hours. I am becoming a recluse again and need to be proactive and not wallow.

GM, I will eat all your marmalade, if no-one likes it, the bitter the better for me. I was talking about making some the other day, as well as pickling beetroot (DD has been nagging me), but I just don't have the energy.
DH will only eat home pickled beetroot now. I had made some, but SIL snaffled that batch!

Best wishes to all the poorlies. Have a good day, folks.

Susan56 Fri 16-Feb-24 07:43:52

Good morning from a very mild Shropshire.

DD just messaged to say she is on the way here with the grandchildren. She has lots of meetings today so the children will stay over. They have some craft projects to complete for school for St David’s day and World Book Day.Grandpa is good at crafts and very patient.I have a hair appointment at 5.30.I was meant to go on Monday but as we are going out tomorrow my hairdresser very kindly fitted me in at the end of the day.

Pantglas DD and I have had a couple of delicious afternoon teas at The Lemon Tree.Hope you have a wonderful time on your cruise.

So sad about your friends son in law Mizuna.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

luluaugust Fri 16-Feb-24 07:45:27

Good morning from a damp W Kent. Yesterday’s trip to Bluewater was difficult as DH put his back out as he got out of the car, we hobbled round Marks, me with my boot on and him hobbling along, I can only imagine what we looked like but people kept kindly moving away from us! Anyway mission accomplished and SIL’s present bought.
We have some lunch booked out today so will hobble along there.
Happy travels Pantglad
The marmalade sounds just right gM
Best wishes to all

Georgesgran Fri 16-Feb-24 07:49:07

Good morning from Durham.
Apparently it’s going to be dry and windy today, so I’ll get DD2’s towels out on the line before I meet a friend for coffee later, then a walk with Little Dog. There are masses of daffodils where we go, but none in flower yet, although there are lots of snowdrops and such a lot of birdsong yesterday. Hope the weather holds for the weekend.
The ‘new’ car passed its MOT yesterday, without the need for any work - a bit of a novelty!
Best wishes to all. X

Jaxjacky Fri 16-Feb-24 07:50:48

Morning from a clear S Hants, it rained overnight. Beautiful Whitewave slugs decimated ours.
Knee is still painful, I’m dependent on the stick, meaning my days are unexciting with small gains. It’ll get there, just slowly. Good you’re feeling better Bellasnana.

Grandmabatty Fri 16-Feb-24 07:53:20

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and damp. Mizuna that's such sad news for the family.
Yesterday was a bit of a non event because I didn't feel great. I rested a lot and managed to sort out my wool stash ready to give to a community group. I'm glad someone can make use of it.
Because I rested yesterday, I slept really badly last night. Typical. I have dgs2 for a couple of hours this morning while dd has a hair appointment. Definitely need to visit mum this afternoon. Macaroni cheese for dinner. Have a good day all

grandMattie Fri 16-Feb-24 08:07:42

Oddly, the marmalade isn’t sour, just bitter…

brook2704 Fri 16-Feb-24 08:09:27

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still grey and wet, hopefully it’ll stop raining sometime soon.
Have a wonderful time on your cruise Pantglas and put all those worries away - enjoy!
After a very lazy day yesterday I’m going to the gym this morning for a couple of classes and then looking forward to a coffee and catch up with my pal this afternoon
Hoping you’re back on your feet again soon jax can’t be easy for you keeping still!
Also your DH too lulu with his bad back - at least you got your shopping done!
Marydoll hope you’re feeling a bit better soon too
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
