After two dry days its good morning from a wet and windy Black country.
I have another bag for the charity shop and a quick trip to Aldi then it's back for more decluttering getting there slowly.
Lovely picture Mizuna he looks really engrossed.
Safe travels for those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from a very wet & windy Sefton. The forecast says rain showers & a light breeze. .... not here it isn't💦🌬️.
We have to go out as it is our busiest day of the week. No hunkering down for us unfortunately. So it is aerobics class, Pilates, nursery pickuup - we walk as parking is problematic - I expect we will get very wet today. The silver lining is our, evening meal will be courtesy of our DS2 & DDinL. Like you RandL I have little interest in food shopping & cooking these days - but still enjoy eating. I just want someone else to buy, prep, cook & serve a delicious meal then clear up afterwards. I live in hope.
Take care out there.

Good morning from Durham. It’s pouring down, blowing a gale and feels cold. I should go food shopping, but don’t fancy getting soaked!
Later, I’ll visit both DGSs, then I’m bringing DD2s Little Dog back to stay with me. An extended stay, so although I’ll get a lot more exercise, in other ways it’ll restrict me, as I don’t like to leave him for long periods. SinL2 is away for a week, so DD2 has taken some time off work and I’ll give her a hand with DGS2 when he’s not at Nursery.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning everyone. I've lurked here for a few days and this all seems very friendly so I thought I'd post.

I'm also from north Leicestershire and can confirm it is wet and miserable and the wind is getting up.

We had a busy day yesterday minding 7,5 and 3 year olds. Are DGC are on half term this week. A trip to the park, the bakers, and the Co-op took up most of the morning. I was then introduced to Kinetic Sand. That was a new one for me and all I can say is I'm pleased it wasn't around when mine were little. Youngest then put YouTube on the tv so we had a singing session. Baby shark, the one about meat balls rolling out of the door etc..

So we are having a quiet day today. Take care all of you.

Good morning all from wet flooded Fenland! Had planned a walk to look at snowdrops daffodils etc with DD2 and lunch out but think it will be a browse around a shopping centre and lunch!! Will we ever get a few days with no rain!!! Need to distract DD2 as her ex has children for half term and taken them away. So very quiet without the two little ones…. Take care and have a lovely day to everyone whatever you are doing.

👋 welcome Mamardoit

GrannySomerset Wed 21-Feb-24 08:43:05

Flood warnings for the village today so probably won’t risk going to singing this afternoon in case there are serious problems. Everything is so saturated that the water just pours off the fields and both usually small rivers are all over the place. Not good news for anyone.

So a domestic day while I try to persuade my new iPad and this old one to communicate. Couldn’t manage it yesterday so need to try again slowly - I am obviously doing something wrong or missing something because it sounds easy. Frustrated doesn’t begin to describe it.

Good Morning from a wet and windy Co Armagh
Yesterday afternoon we went to collect Daughter’s new glasses , we happened to pass the favourite nursery so plants were admired , three House Leeks (I can’t spell the posh name ) made their way home with me , I have a rather dry raised bed where plants struggle so I’m trying these to see if they survive , and they are pretty
Club today , I have to change handbags from the the tiny one for the flight , to the larger one to take my teabag and my own cup , I prefer decaf, and a large cup !!
Hoping everyone has a good day !

harrigran Wed 21-Feb-24 08:49:16

Good morning from a wet and windy NE.
Had a message from DD to say SIL is delaying his return to the UK until the weekend, my DD will come with him as he is not feeling very well. They are supposed to be going to a Rick Wakeman concert on Saturday.
DS and GD1 are coming this morning, she is going to be driving . We will go out for lunch and do the shopping .
Have a good day.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Raining here too.
Welcome mamardoit
Off to Teesside today to meet a friend I haven’t seen for years. We met at the school gate almost 65 years ago and keep writing on Christmas cards “we must meet up soon” . I phoned her last week and so today is our day!
Have a good day everyone.

Mizuna Wed 21-Feb-24 09:10:17

Welcome Mamardoit. 👋

Greyduster Wed 21-Feb-24 09:10:18

A late good morning Michael and all GNs from a very wet South Yorkshire. I slept very heavily last night for change but don’t feel much better for it. After my stint at the school yesterday afternoon I contacted my internet provider to see if they could find out why my tv is not connecting to the internet. FIVE HOURS in a chat room later (God for it you should actually get to speak to anyone) we were still no nearer a solution after going round in circles and answering the same questions. SiL is going to pop round today to see if he can do anything with it. I can still open the apps on my ipad, so that’s something. I had a soothing chat with DD before I went to bed. Writers group this afternoon. That will be soothing too, I hope!
Mizuna the earlier you can get children used to hand tools and teach them knife skills the better, I think. He looks very content!
Have the best day you can folks!

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle. Not a good morning really as it's dark and very rainy but might clear in the afternoon.
I shall get stuck into the ironing and one or two little cleaning jobs. I'm not enthusiastic after a poor night's sleep...again. Then I think I will carry on with my book clearing out project. The trouble is that I look through them and then decide they can't possibly go and/or I start reading them. It's a slow job.

I have the same problem re weight loss Whitewave, I eat healthily but like my afternoon cake! After years of struggling to lose any weight, I found the answer, move house! I lost 20lb without trying, indeed eating more than usual. It turned out to be stress, even though I didn't feel particularly stressed. I achieved the weight I should be and felt great but, sadly, two-thirds is back on again and I'm currently pondering on how to tackle it. Intermittent dieting is out of the question though.

Best wishes to poor Dollie, Marydoll. What an unpleasant complaint that is.

Hello mamardoit, no more lurking now!

Hope no-one's getting too wet, have a good day if possible.

Grammaretto Wed 21-Feb-24 09:24:55

Hello Mamardoit and welcome

BlueSapphire Wed 21-Feb-24 09:26:42

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton. If it clears up by the afternoon I may go to the well-being cafe, haven't been for a few weeks, so it's time I showed my face. Before then a bit of pottering and general tidying. I may order a new tablet, as this one is not behaving; will be good to get it run in before my holiday in April.

The new freezer arrived after lunch, installed in the garage, and the old one removed. Now to fill it!

Hope all have a good day.

Kalu Wed 21-Feb-24 09:27:00

Good morning from Glasgow. Dreich, wet and windy here too.

Even the cat is fed up with this weather and bitterly complaining to me as if I was responsible and should do something about it!

Bad timing weather wise as I have a hairdressing appointment this afternoon and more scripts to collect. Wellies and my long, hooded wax coat may be needed. Hey ho, it’s an outing.

Well done to your little woodworker Mizuna. He looks to be in his element there.
Ouch Jaxjacky. Look after yourself and I hope you mend soon.
A warm welcome Marmardroit.
Spending the day with you will cheer Dollie up Marydoll. Hope she feels better as the day goes on.

Hoping a good day is ahead for all. My thoughts, as always, to those dealing with difficult times.

Taichinan Wed 21-Feb-24 09:35:30

Good morning all from the Angus coast where - yes - it's raining, dark and miserable and only 7°. But there's light at the end of the tunnel and a sunny late afternoon is forecast thank goodness. I do feel sorry for all you folks living in flooded areas - you must dread the pitter patter of raindrops.
Mizuna what a gorgeous little boy, and so absorbed and pleased with himself!
Nice to meet you Mamardoit.
In spite of no sleep worth the name the night before, yesterday's tai chi class went very well and the shopping was completed afterwards, but as expected I sat down and watched TV in the afternoon through closed eyes 💤.

LauraNorderr Wed 21-Feb-24 09:38:28

Good morning Mick. Good morning All. Welcome Mamardoit from this part timer in cloudy West Cheshire.
Just enjoying a mocha and a crumpet while watching a busy grey squirrel exercising up and down branches worryingly close to our Juliet balcony.
A day of nothing much for us, and why not.
Wishing for peace and harmony with moments of fun and laughter all round

Jaxjacky Wed 21-Feb-24 09:50:58

Welcome Marmadoit I must look up kinetic sand.

Taichinan Wed 21-Feb-24 09:56:00

Sorry, pressed send by mistake!
Sorry to hear of all the insomniacs of last night. Strangely after all the daytime dozing I did yesterday I didn't join you! There seems no rhyme nor reason ..,.....
Today I shall potter around and then engage with the afternoon TV programmes - tomorrow is Tai chi again followed (after a very quick dash up the road to get changed) by a birthday lunch in the next town for a friend there. And reading back over this post I do feel so lucky - I really am enjoying this stage of my life. I've come to terms with my alone-ness now and just embrace whatever happens each day and the good health that, at the moment, permits my being able to do so.
Goodness, how philosophical so early in the morning! Enjoy your day everyone and I hope the sun breaks through the clouds 🌞🦋

Taichinan Wed 21-Feb-24 09:56:46

Just away to do that too Jax!

luluaugust Wed 21-Feb-24 10:30:40

Good morning from a wet W Kent, very late as I had an 8.20 Drs and nurses appointment. Anyway blood taken, ears inspected and foot discussed out just after 8.45 can’t grumble. DF coming through the rain for a coffee and a chat.
Sorry haven’t read all posts so wishing you all a good day

Grandmachrisy47 Wed 21-Feb-24 10:51:24

Morning all. Hello to our newbies and lurkers.
Dgd went with me to Pilates last night. Joined in for the first half then sat quietly (with my phone) for the second half. She and the granddogs stayed over and she is still in bed FaceTiming her friends. I’m being very lazy, have done the crosswords and am contemplating getting showered and dressed.
Stay safe and dry everyone
