Good morning from south Glos where it’s not raining (yet) for once; yesterday’s rain was monsoon-like at times. We had flooded roads where I’ve never seen flooding before.
The dog and I managed to dodge getting completely drenched on our morning walk, a very wandering one as she wanted to stop and sniff everything. I didn’t mind.
Today nothing planned so a ‘see what happens day’ I think.
I hope you all have a good day 🌹

Morning all from a damp yet bright West Oxfordshire.
We had an amazing hailstorm yesterday. It was so loud that it disturbed the cats during their daytime slumber!
I still have bits of WI admin to do. But, we’re going out for lunch. I’m taking OH to a place I’ve often been with my friend who has tantrums in restaurants.
OH has a bee lecture this evening so I will have a quiet evening.
Have a good day everyone especially those of you with difficulties. Spring is on the way.🌷🌷🌷

Good morning from a cold and bright Oxfordshire after a really awful day yesterday, the rain was coming down sideways, the winds were so strong.
Still decluttering, why do people not collect things they tell you they want even when they are free? Hopefully some things will go today.
Dog walking this morning then out for a curry tonight.
Hope our unwell Grans start to feel better soon, virtual hugs for those who are stressed or unhappy.

Good morning all from a showery Glasgow, where it is 3°C.

I never got a chance to welcome the newbies yesterday!

GrannyIvy, I hope the antibiotics kick in soon.

At the surgery yesterday, it was discovered my BP was dangerously high again, yet first thing yesterday it was very low! Therefore as of this morning, I am back to recording it four times a day. Despite a shedload of medication, nothing ever brings it down. It also looks as if I have a UTI into the bargain, no wonder I feel rough.

We had lunch and a lovely time with Babydoll and her parents. She spent the whole time, either trying to grab my plate or eat my necklace! I fell asleep when we got home😴.
My plan had been to hand in my prescriptions on the way home, but I was exhausted.

First thing I need to do this morning, is phone the surgery. I got home to find once more I had been called for jury duty in the High Court. I phoned yesterday to be told that I must phone the surgery first thing to get a telephone appointment in order to get a medical exemption certificate. The least worry feeds my anxiety these days.
This is the second time in a year, I have been summoned. ☹
My DIL said the judge would be constantly saying: Silence in court, due to my persistant coughing. 😂

This morning the Ebay Queen is hosting a small get together for one of my closest friends, who turned eighty on Wednesday. I first met her at the toddler's group forty years ago, when we moved here and I knew no-one.
Usually I enjoy these times, but the EB Queen felt obliged to ask my neighbour, DIL's mother, otherwise she and her husband would be spying from the front room, if she hadn't been invited. They watch everything. ☹
DH says I will need to bite my tongue and be a good girl, despite the way my DIL is treated by them. Be the better person, he says.
Mr MD, is a much more charitable person than I am

Have a pleasant day folks and best wishes to all who are struggling. 💐

Good morning from soggy South Lanarkshire.

Thank you for all your good wishes for our anniversary yesterday. We had a delicious lunch, it was a good day.

Beautiful cake Bellasnana, I remember when she was just a tot.

Child minding in Edinburgh today. My brother is arriving from his home in France for tomorrow’s rugby match so we will meet him and his partner early this evening which I’m looking forward to.

Daft dug has to be dropped off at doggy day care so I must dash.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Morning all, I am feeling decidedly under the weather, three nights in a row of little sleep (I wake up at 2.00 am and that’s it!)

I might give the gym a miss, (The Imp is going to his paternal Grandparents today) and hunker down.

Hope the hospital appointment goes well grandMattie GrannyIvy hope you feel better soon.
luluaugust hope your DD is ok
Ashcombe looks like DH has a new friend

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

Good morning all. North Leicestershire is chilly but dry. I think there is rain in the forecast.

An admin morning for me while dh takes my car to be assessed for repair. Then we have bits and bobs of shopping to do this afternoon.

Our meal last night at the new Indian restaurant in the village was absolutely lovely, the staff friendly and helpful and there was a great atmosphere. No wonder it was really busy.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Bellasnana Fri 23-Feb-24 07:11:23

Good morning from Malta where it’s sunny and 18°C.

Had a lovely FaceTime chat with my birthday girl DGD yesterday. Her mum (DD2) made her a lovely simple cake at her request. Wish I could have been there but 6000 miles between us is too far.

I’m with the boys, can’t believe it’s Friday again already. Time passes too quickly.

In haste as I don’t like to be on my phone when with the boys.

Wishing all the best to all for a good day.☀️

Good morning from 4 degree W Kent.
Enjoyable time catching up with friends at Art group yesterday. Today I collect my new pair of glasses and then rush back for ear suction at the Drs. I think that will be enough. A shock last night to hear DGD1 went to A&E yesterday and may have an appendicitis, we are waiting to hear today what is going on. Always something at present.
Best wishes to all

Good morning from a cold, damp Colchester. Another wet day with single figure temperatures.
DS arrived home after midnight last night and will stay for the weekend. DH will be home from his fishing trip sometime today.
I will get one of them to drive me to Lidl to stock up. I'll also have DSs uniform and DHs smelly gear to launder. The machine will be on overtime.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from the South Downs. A drier day is forecast - not entirely rain free of course, but not an utter deluge like we have had over the past 2 days.

Driving yesterday was not pleasant as there is so much water on the roads.

Enjoyed lunch with friends yesterday, and we stayed chatting until the waitresses (all in frilly white aprons) switched off the lights! and we got the hint. We swapped birthday presents and are meeting up again in March as part of a larger group that meet up every quarter.

Today is free, so I will finish my final lot of spring cleaning and then my focus can be on the garden - yippee! I must sow the sweet peas snd tithonia (sp?) bit late but they will come on no doubt. I need to pot up the dahlias and sort out the summer bulbs. DH and I jostle for space this time of year in the heated propagator and heated box. His veg v my flowers.

Paella for supper

Enjoy your day all

Peace and harmony to the world

Morning Mick, morning All from a seriously soggy corner of Somerset. Our little river is coping, the footpath along it is flooded with surface water which is beginning to seep into our garden.

Yesterdays rain was interspersed with hailstones, so it goes on. Our neighbours paddled in for coffee, we laughed so much, very lucky to have them. A much needed lift to my spirits. Unfortunately nothing sorted for our friend, another emotional phone call from her daughter, I’d so like to shake everyone involved.

Colder today with heavy rain forecast until mid afternoon. Oh well, it will encourage me to carry on sorting, one shelf to go and the ‘office cupboard’ will be done. Looking forward to Tai Chi this afternoon

A taxi is sensible grandmattie, hope all goes well. What a palaver grannyivy, get well wishes to you and all poorly folk

Hope Friday is kind to us all

Ashcombe Fri 23-Feb-24 06:23:47

Sorry, GrannyIvy!

Ashcombe Fri 23-Feb-24 06:22:45

Good morning from a dry Torbay where it’s chillier than of late.

Having a taxi to the hospital is a wise decision, grandMattie as that takes away the anxiety of finding it. Our local taxi drivers are inevitably good company, as was the case when I needed to be at Newton Abbot Hospital for a brain scan recently. No doubt the audiology department will be clearly signposted, perhaps with volunteer guides, too.

Yesterday we met a new neighbour who runs an art studio in Brixham. Coincidentally, like olddudders, he is a regular visitor to the 24 hour circuit at Le Mans, from where he has produced pictures of Bentley cars! We hope to spend more time with him.

I’m glad you received the treatment you needed eventually, GrandmaIvy.

I hope today sees improved health and relief from worries for those in need. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from Cambridgeshire. I’m not sure what the weather is like outside but seems very dark and chilly!! No plans to go out today, just hibernate with TV and my kindle! Yesterday was a lesson in tolerance dealing with my GP practice!! I realised I had an ear infection but was told I could not be seen for 2 to 3 weeks. If it was an urgent problem then call 111. The 111 service were brilliant but said I would have to travel 20 miles to the nearest urgent care hospital. Not feeling well and with the wind and rain lashing I eventually was given an appointment at my local surgery with a duty doctor and issued with antibiotics following the persistence and perseverance of the 111 service. I will lay low and hope I do not need a GP again in the foreseeable future. Anyway hope everyone has a good day. My magnolia staccato has its first flower out and my camellia is full of beautiful pink flowers. Fingers crossed they will survive a cold snap and continue to flourish!

grandMattie Fri 23-Feb-24 05:46:47

Good morning from a cold Bristol. This time last year, we had a few days of hard frost which killed all my magnolia buds. With them fattening ATM, I hope this cold weather so burn them. I’m very fond of magnolia flowers.
I had barely come home from getting the paper early yesterday, hen the heaves opened. Goodness, did it rain ☔️!
I went to the supermarket and distinguished myself by dropping a pot of tomato soup at the checkout!
Being Thursday, I dined at DD’s, then stayed on to mind the girls; their mum had a PCC meeting and their dad band practice. He plays the trombone. Homepast my bedtime.
Today, I have my Spanish class. In the afternoon, I’ve got an appointment at the hospital with the audiologist. Feeling very nervous, not because of th3 test, bust because, after 35 years in Kent, I don’t even know where this hospital is; DD is in London for the general synod and can’t take me. Taxi then…
I hope today brings kindness and peace to you all, especially urms, baggs, kalu*, marydoll and the others in distress.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
