Happy Reminders - What have you seen/heard? Where have you been?

I love it! We often walk near Lake Vyrnwy too, at the far end up to the waterfall. Everytime we go, though, it's sopping wet and our feet are soaked by the time we get back. Only water though, eh?! 😊

We met up today at Bury for a fun day out on a steam train. We all prepared picnics and had a lovely time. A family day out is rare because of work school etc. So I was very happy having them all together with our three granddaughters.

After all the rain, today was bright and sunny. I drove to Torquay where I lived for 50 years and walked along the seafront with my grandson. What memories of happy days on the beach with my own children and then my grandchildren. We had lunch in a seaside cafe and then walked on the sand. It was a perfect day out.
More rain tomorrow apparently.

It's easy to forget the simple things in life, like walking along a beach, as generations before us. We have a special place in South Wales too. It's good to have ties to places which means so much, years down the line 🥰

I think we all have lots of these.
I know I do.

I will take a few moments to be grateful for them today.

henetha: we might have passed you! DH and I went by bus to the seafront at Torquay yesterday morning and walked from the Grand Hotel back to the harbour, stopping for a coffee at Pier Point! A beautiful day and a delight to see families and dogs making the most of the tide being out, making the beach accessible.

The Lake Vryrnwy hotel is one of our favourite places to stay.
We have had many happy times there.
A well kept secret.

That's amazing, Ashcombe. Wasn't it the most perfect day.
We parked in the Shedden Hill car park and tried to have lunch in one of those new places in the Palm Court development but they were all packed. So we ended up eating in the cafe right next door to the Princess Theatre. Yes, we possibly passed each other.

I cycled all around there when I was a teenager, SeaWoozle

Since then, I have visited by car, much easier!
I have ornamental slates on the wall from there.

Sago we usually stop off at the toilets, on route to Conwy 😂

I love driving over the Dinas Mawddwy

It's a beautiful part of the world, that area in Wales.

All I remember of Torquay is my youngest running off!

Glad to have spurred you on. There's a lot to be said for reminiscing. Life moves too fast sometimes.

Used to stay at the Lake Vyrnwy Hotel many years ago, we once had a memorable Christmas there. I have not been back since DH died 26 years ago, we went there to celebrate our Silver wedding anniversary unfortunately DH died the following year. Many happy memories of the hotel.
