Good Morning Everyone,
Dark, dry and cold here in brackley at the moment.
Yesterday , turned out to be different as to bus travel , did my normal in Bicester , returning home on the bus abut 5 miles or so from home , smoke started to appear from the engine at the back of the bus , we pulled into a layby , the driver did the usual calls etc as to a breakdown , 2 fire tenders turned up as well, anyway it was resolved and travelled home a hour late than normal , followed by the bus mechanic, the bus stop I use was packed but with an hourly service the next service was packed .
Today apart from watching cycling on TV and having lunch a quiet day .
Take Care,
Mick

A late good day from South Lanarkshire, coffee in hand, having returned from mass.

I had a really good afternoon in town yesterday with my sister. There’s a very tricky situation with one of our nephews and DSis was full of Ideas about how ‘I’ can deal with it. Evidently you never lose your position in the family no matter how old you are! I shall see.

I was really happy to read about your positive news yesterday Urms and pray that it continues. Also good to read your news this morning about an improvement for your DH Kalu

Mizuna you are such a stoic, an example to me at least.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 5°C.

Yesterday I got through a few jobs. Sorted meds, some admin, shredding, laundry, usual physio exercises, listening to my audiobook. I’ve been reading Richard Osman’s The Thursday Murder Club, recommended by a few Gransnetters. I’m enjoying it very much. MrB made bangers and mash for dinner, much appreciated on a chilly day.

Nothing really planned for today, a leisurely Sunday for us.

Have the best day you can, whatever you’re doing today 🌹

Good morning all. Hubby doing some painting for son number 1 so I’m taking it easy this morning. I’m thinking if the garden and once the frost which has descended I may potter. We are due to have lunch out later nothing fancy just a nice garden centre we frequent. Happy Sunday all and hugs for those struggling.

Good morning everyone from a sunny 🌞Northampton; a dry day forecast; I should get out into the garden to start my spring tidy-up, but everywhere is so sodden after the torrential rain. The grass needs cutting too, but it is soaking. I shall stay in and watch rugby this afternoon and read the papers, feeling guilty that I'm not outside.....

The "Nutcracker" was lovely. yesterday, a superb production, colourful costumes and sublime music - they had brought their own orchestra. It was a real treat to see such accomplished dancing. The theatre was packed, lots of little.girls there with their grandmas!

So pleased to read your news Urms, long may the good news continue!

45 years ago today I went into hospital to be induced with DS, can remember It as though it were yesterday! Wouldn't want to go through those 24 hours again....

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Happy Birthday to MrCornergran

Ziplok Sun 25-Feb-24 09:29:32

Morning all.
Quite an adventure for you yesterday Mick. Glad all was resolved safely.
A quiet day in store today. Church then a few small jobs when I get back, then feet up with a book, I think. However, it’s a bright, sunny start, so if it remains so, a walk will be in order.
Hope everyone has a good day.

EkwaNimitee Sun 25-Feb-24 09:22:23

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but frosty Carlisle.
It was a pleasant but very cold day yesterday. I drove out for the papers and some gravel from the garden centre. No gravel in stock but I did buy some little plants. They are starting to put out trays of seedlings ready for growing on so I will have to have a think about what I might need. I also got some nicely sprouting seedling potatoes, I'll give those a try this year.
Home to a chat with my next door neighbour and then by phone with my sister. A lazy afternoon followed which included more mattress research. I'll probably make a decision tomorrow once I've gone and bounced on a few.
It will be a paper reading morning today and then a trip to the hospital for a kidney scan this afternoon. It couldn't be a worse time, the appointment coinciding with afternoon visiting time, parking there is very problematic at the best times.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Mizuna, it will be good to be home again.

And have a pleasant Sunday all of you.

GrannySomerset Sun 25-Feb-24 09:02:32

Hope Mizuna makes it home safely and that Marydoll enjoys the well slept Dollie. DD is with me which is great, but less great is that Olive the cat seems to have found her presence disturbing and went into full wild cat mode, looking like a Louis Wain drawing and yowling and hissing. We are ignoring her and hoping her calm self reappears but I have never seen a cat behave this way so am worried about her. Obviously not as settled as I thought she was.

Wishing a Happy Birthday to Mrcorner 🎂🎉🎉🍺

Gala Sun 25-Feb-24 08:53:04

Aren't slow cookers wonderful Gingster. Chuck it all in, walk away & hours later something delicious emerges. Ooh yum, venison. It does come out a treat doesn't it.

Marydoll Sun 25-Feb-24 08:45:24

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 3°C. I've spent the night hanging on to the edge of the bed to stop me falling out, with a knee in my back. Dollie has had a great sleep. 🤣

GM and empty here means having the house all to yourself, it is to be treasured, especially if you are a teenager and your parents are not present or your husband is golfing,

I'm sorry to hear to hear how unwell you are, Mizuna. Please take advice from your clinicians, breathing can deteriorate in minutes and please wait until you are stable..
Taichinan, I agree about speaking to your own GP. As soon as I heard my GPS voice, I felt a great sense of relief.
When I see a GP, who doesn't know me and they look at my record, the usual first comment is, Oh, there is an awful going on here!.

No plans for today, I'm struggling and the industrial strength antibioticsc are making me very nauseous. However, I did anticipate that, so I asked for anti nausea medication.
However, my chest is a bit less congested and they seem have targeted the UTI into the bargain. Result! Onward and upward.

Kalu, enjoy your time with your girls. Have a good day folks!

monk08 Sun 25-Feb-24 08:44:30

Good morning all from a freezing foggy Black country.
Mizuna 🤞you can go home sometime today.
Happy birthday to Mr cornergran 🎂🍺.
Another quiet day here.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️

Liberty Sun 25-Feb-24 08:36:14

Good morning from a frosty and sunny Suffolk but the blue of the sky here doesn’t rival yours Taichinan.

Very uplifting,Urms to hear how Himself is getting on and hope that others struggling with health problems are coping as well as possible and Mizuna is home by this time tomorrow.

Yesterday was such a glorious day and we enjoyed a walk with the dog on our local common with the cafe “Paws for tea”. Our little dog enjoyed her treats and we sat outside enjoying delicious mochas and scones.

I think we are expecting DS and family to pop over( his words…it is an hour’s journey) and we’ll have a walk before them.

Our snowdrops are now past their best but primroses are coming through more abundantly than ever.

Georgesgran Sun 25-Feb-24 08:32:00

Good morning from Durham.
A cold day forecast and I’ve a sore throat and headache.
Think I’ll be meeting DD2 and DGS2 later, then walk her Little Dog before dark.
Good news Urms.
Best wishes to all. X

Jaxjacky Sun 25-Feb-24 08:30:35

Morning from a chilly S Hants, rain later.
Happy birthdays to your men corner that photo must have cheered you.
🤞you’re allowed home today mizuna.
That sounds positive Kalu 6lb is a goodly amount.
The grandchildren are still asleep, not sure what time their Mum will be back today, we washed their school uniforms to help out. yesterday.
Stunning pictures Taichinan thank you.

Gingster Sun 25-Feb-24 08:27:27

Gala we had venison cooked in the slow cooker yesterday. Beautifully tender. Enjoy!

Gingster Sun 25-Feb-24 08:21:46

Good morning all and it’s bright, Misty and frosty here in Essex.

Yesterday was very active in the garden with ds1 digging up old shrubs and Dh and me tidying up after him. I I said yesterday DS is very ‘gung Ho’ so a broken spade and cutters will need to be replaced 😳🤣🤣. Never mind , he does a good job. Next weekend we’ll go to the nursery to see what’s required for my garden makeover.

Today DD and little gd will come for lunch and we will spend the afternoon making and doing with craft and games. .

Mizuna let’s hope you can get home to your ‘cosy hub’. The overwhelming heat in the hospitals just make you feel worse.
💐.
Urms glad to hear you have some positive news, and of course wishing everyone else with worries has better news.

Beautiful pics Taichinan. Look at that perfectly blue sky, and what a view you have !

Take care all and enjoy the day . 🌷

Sar53 Sun 25-Feb-24 08:11:47

Good morning from a sunny but very frosty Essex coast. I don't envy DH going to his grandsons rugby this morning.
A casserole to prepare for dinner and will try to finish my latest book.
Football to watch this afternoon.
I hope you feel better soon Mizuna. Lovely news from Urms yesterday.
Enjoy Sunday everyone xx

Susan56 Sun 25-Feb-24 08:11:19

Brilliant cake Grandmabatty.Your daughter is very talented.

Also what a beautiful view you have Taichinan.

Grandmabatty Sun 25-Feb-24 08:05:41

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 0° and dry. It feels cold. Mizuna I'm sorry that you are so unwell. I hope you get better soon. Mick an excitement you could have done without!
Yesterday I went to dgs1's birthday party in the afternoon for an hour or so. He and his little brother had a good time. I enclose a photo of the cake which dd made for him. She made another one for a friend's boy last night. I think she is superwoman!
Today I'll make lentil soup -my favourite - and potter about. I'll visit mum this afternoon and show her the photos of the party. A quiet day ahead. Boeuf bourguinon for dinner. I made it in the slow cooker yesterday and it's very nice. Have a good day all
