As someone who dreams A LOT (and have books and books of my dreams written down!) I find this fascinating.
The people we "see" in our dreams are people we've met or seen, however fleetingly, in real life. Our brain cannot make up "new" faces. It can, however, amalgamate specific features we've noticed (big noses, flappy ears etc!) and can add those to people we've seen.
