Venue for a special lunch, Newbury area.

We are looking to meet friends for a celebration lunch somewhere in the Newbury area . None of us live in the area but it is a convenient venue for us all. Would anyone who knows this area be able to give me a few recommendations please. Preferably somewhere in the countryside where we can eat and then relax for coffee and chat afterwards. Thank you.

I live near there. Can recommend the following.

Royal Oak at Ecchinswell is in the country about six miles from Newbury.

The Craven Arms at Enborne.

Carnarvon Arms, near Highclere Castle

The Woodspeen or The Damson are both great for celebrations.
Or take a look at Malverleys which is very different.
