Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry and cold start to the day here in brackley .
Today I am hoping to get my BT/EE TV box sorted either with a replacement which seems most likely .
I did manage to watch cycling yesterday online and computer screen .
I need to do some laundry as well and hopefully get in the laundrette early , as I live in a residental home .
Take Care,
Mick

Morning all, it’s 2 degrees here but should stay dry. Yet another night of little sleep.
A quiet day until DD and her boys arrive for a late lunch, the GS’s have requested picky bits mid afternoon then it’s roast pork around 5.30pm.

Ashcombe I hope you feel better soon, Grandmabatty I hope your little GS is more comfortable today.

Have a peaceful Sunday 🙋‍♀️

Kalu Sun 03-Mar-24 08:14:43

Good morning from Glasgow. No idea what the temperature is but we have blue skies and sunshine, I will happily settle for that.

A change of bed linen for DH today, if the weather holds I will hang it out in the sunshine. Small pleasure but I love to dry as much washing outdoors as possible especially bed linen for the fresh smell of outdoors.

DD1 and the girls will be here this afternoon. We do miss seeing them as often as we did but being teenagers now they have a busy social life, health and happy and we all make the most of any catch ups.

Have a good Sunday all and kind thoughts to those with struggles.

Grandmabatty* what a massive shock your family has had. I hope your dear DGS2 recovers very quickly. The poor boy must have been in some pain but thank goodness it was dealt with as fast as it was. 😘

I’ve ordered incontinence pads from Amazon. After a false start in late summer toilet training has been resumed with renewed vigour. These are to place in the car seat and on our sofa. 😯

DD2 who is getting married in September has collected her wedding dress ordered last October. She is currently taking medication for M.E. which has worked pretty well but caused a weight gain of a stone in a matter of weeks. It may not seem alot going from 8 stone to 9 stone but it is very obvious on her small frame. The dress was quite a tight fit.

Chicken Kiev, rice and sweetcorn for dinner tonight. All best wishes for a peaceful Sunday for you all.

Morning from cold South Lanarkshire, very still but 2 degrees only.

A really great afternoon yesterday with two long time friends, we didn’t stop laughing, it was such a lift for us all.

Mass last night so I’m having a relaxing start to the day, I’ll get organised soon and watch Laura Kuenssberg over breakfast
DD5 phoned yesterday to say she has been completely mixed up and DGS’s dance show is tonight so off this afternoon to Giffnock a day early.
With the unexpected day time tomorrow I’m planning a visit to a Waitrose near them, small pleasures!

I hope you feel better soon Ash, you’re having a bit of a rocky time just now, best wishes.

Have the. best day possible everyone.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
Yesterday morning I was out to Sainsbury's then back to put the world to rights with my sister over the phone.
After lunch I got out between showers and finished scarifying the front lawn. It's never been a good lawn in spite of all my TLC, they seem to have used very wimpy grass seed for the supplied turf. I shall have another go at re-seeding before long.
Not long after I came back in, those showers turned into steady, heavy rain and it turned into a dark old afternoon.

Today I'm off for a walk shortly, then who knows? I shall see what takes my fancy. The Brothers Karamazov will be a slow read, it's not a fast paced page turner but every line is worth appreciating.

Best wishes to DGS2 Grandmabatty, must be hard for a little one to cope with that discomfort.

Have a pleasant Sunday everyone.

Good morning from a still sleepy granny from the east coast of Fife.
No wonder I’m late I couldn’t sleep last night it was nearly 4 am before I dropped off and I’m going to church today my friend is also going to take me for a Sunday lunch she’s so kind.
I’m really so blessed

Another sunny and bright Suffolk morning so the dog walk shortly should be lovely. We had very strong winds for much of the day yesterday which at least is helping to dry out the soggy gardens and fields.

I have a busy week ahead so will enjoy a peaceful and quiet day at home. DH nearly always cooks on Sunday so,apart from changing the bed and a few other little household jobs,a restful time ahead.

I hope those celebrating have a joyous time and those who are ill or worried or both find some relief.

Good morning from a not as cold Co Armagh, at least it didn’t feel too bad when I was out unlocking the gate
We have been locking it since the local attempted burglary the other night
Bed stripped , washing machine doing it’s best I’m about to eat my porridge 😋
Best wishes for a healthy peaceful day xx

Good morning all from a sunny Black country although there was frost overnight.
Have put a wash on to take advantage of the sun, like you Kalu love to dry outside.
Glad to read your daughter home Mizuna and enjoy your trip out.
I hope you feel better soon Ash.
Marydoll I seem to recall RosesMaw taking a break for lent.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from bright and sunny South Lanarkshire.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your little GS Grandmabatty, poor wee soul.

Enjoy the netball Sar, these days it’s a fast and furious game. DGD’s match yesterday was excellent.

Mass this morning and a walk this afternoon.

Hope all those feeling unwell improve as the day goes on.

Have the best day possible everyone.

GrannySomerset Sun 03-Mar-24 09:19:02

Heavy frost but bright sunshine at present though the forecast says showers so who knows? Lay service this morning, and my turn so the theme is the beauty of the earth, hard to focus on when so many dreadful things are happening but we need all the uplift possible. Cat attacked me again last night and feel I cannot keep her as my blood pressure is rocketing and I can ill afford that. Really sad and disappointing and am not sure what to do.

Gala Sun 03-Mar-24 09:20:15

Good morning from a bright, sunny, but cold, Sefton. There was frost on the cars but it is melting fast on the 🎼 sunnyside of the street🎼. So tired of all the rain. A bit of sunshine is so cheering.
Yesterday I joined DS2 & family on a shopping trip to town. They are off for some winter sun next week & needed to get 'holiday bits & pieces'. Many shopping bags later we enjoyed lunch in our favourite family run Italian restaurant. I was pleased to see it was very busy as although it is in the city centre it is a bit off the beaten track.
A quiet day today but could venture into the garden if this weather holds. Got soaked yesterday in town. We are invited to DS1's for tea today. Not sure what is on the menu but he will be cooking. Not often I get to see both my sons & their families in one weekend.😃
Hope you are all benefitting from this lovely sunshine. Have a pleasant & peaceful Sunday.

Maw was taking a break for Lent, but has posted on other threads Marydoll.

Late good morning from a cool NE.
Quiet day yesterday, my sister and BIL came for a while and we caught up with family news.
DS and family were with the other GPs who travelled to Durham for GD's musical.
SIL will come this afternoon and we will have dinner together tonight, sadly not the roast beef I had anticipated as it has disappeared from the freezer.
Hope all the poorly people recover quickly.

Taichinan Sun 03-Mar-24 09:37:44

Good morning all from a chilly Angus coast - 5° and cloudy. In a bright moment half an hour ago I put a washing on, so it will be hung out to dry, come what may. Like you Kalu I love having it dried outside and the lovely fresh smell that comes with that.
Afterwards I think I'll pop down to M&S food in Dundee. I'm just not interested in food these days, so I'm hoping something will tickle my taste buds. (And there's nothing in the freezer anyway!)
I missed your post yesterday Grandmabatty so had to pop back into yesterday's thread to find out what was wrong with little DGS2. Poor little mite - he must have been in a lot of pain and discomfort. Glad the op is successfully over - he'll recover in no time and will soon have forgotten all about it (not so his family!). Happy birthday to your DD today.
Just the mention of Perranporth brings back many happy memories Mizuna, it's so beautiful. Enjoy your day. I'm also glad to hear your DD is back home.
That must be a weight off your mind.
I hope you find your mum well when you see her Susan.
Karma it's lovely that you're enjoying the company of your teenage DGDs. It's lovely when they start showing signs of the adults they will one day be isn't it.
What a lot of coughing and sneezing there is on here just now - the long wet miserable winter taking its toll no doubt. I hope everyone recovers soon in time for the long bright days ahead.
DD and New Man are off walking in the Lake District today, DD with perhaps a little less enthusiasm than her man! But she'll enjoy it I'm sure - in retrospect 😉. I shall be seeing her next Sunday when she's taking me for afternoon tea at the restaurant at the V&A in Dundee.
Now I'm off to hang out the washing. Have a lovely Sunday everyone, keeping cosy. If March has come in like a 🦁, remember it will go out as a 🐑 x

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 5°C.

No real plans for today, MrB will have a walk later, my balance is still causing a few problems so indoor exercise only for me.

I’m glad the little one is home recovering Grandmabatty.

Hoping your stomach settles soon Ashcombe.

Have a good day all whatever you’re doing, hope poorlies feel better soon 🌻

hollysteers Sun 03-Mar-24 09:49:11

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Nice to have a bright day after so much rain and staying indoors.
A quiet day, will make a couple of birthday cards, yesterday had a catch up with pianist friend whose health is precarious. Her mother is in her nineties in a nursing home here so has that on her mind too and a busy DD miles away..

Request from neighbour to feed cat while they are away, but otherwise an uneventful day.
Hope you get your washing done Mick, your GS is getting on well now and thoughts to all with troubles 🌺

Ziplok Sun 03-Mar-24 10:31:17

Good morning,

It’s a much drier, brighter day today, thank goodness.
Off to church shortly then I’m not sure what my plans are.

Wishing you all a good day.

Purplepixie Sun 03-Mar-24 11:24:46

Good morning from a very lovely sunny East Midlands. Ride out with hubby this afternoon and roast lamb for dinner tonight. 6 weeks tomorrow since the hysterectomy and I feel better each day. Still a bit tearful at times but I am getting there.

Gingster Sun 03-Mar-24 12:06:55

Sorry a bit late to the party!

Travelled up to our holiday home in Suffolk. Good journey and not a bad day. Sea calm , light skies, not too cold and NO RAIN! (Yet). We’ve walked along the beach and had a check in the garden. All fine so far.

Hoping you all have a lovely Sunday. 🙏.

Scapa1 Sun 03-Mar-24 12:53:07

Marydoll *I am still here and read everyday. Have had a very quiet time lately so not much chat. I hope to recover my oomph with the better weather which I hope will come soon. Have posted a couple of times on *Soop though. I’m sorry to hear of all the problems some are having. Chins up!

Marydoll Sun 03-Mar-24 13:12:52

Scalpal good to know you are O.K. and that Maw is still posting
Thanks Jax.

Bonnybanko Mon 04-Mar-24 02:32:25

Good morning all from the east coast of Fife where the weathers quite cold and I think it’s been raining all night . I had a lovely day at church yesterday then went on to my local golf range for a delicious roast beef dinner. I’m awake far too early this morning. Hopefully I’ll drop off to sleep again.

Thinking of those who have been bereaved lately my thoughts and prayers are with you
