Transgender women and an early state pension.

Transgender women born between 31 October 1953 and 6 November 1953 may be eligible for State Pension from 31 October 2018 to the date of their 65th birthday.

I’m not sure how I feel about this.

Galaxy

You posted one persons experience. I am sorry but I view all of it with extreme caution because of the very serious issues that have been present at every step of the way. Evidence based care is very important.

It's worth listening to actual trans peoples experiences when you want to comment on their lives and are taking risks with their mental health by misgendering them in a public space

I’m puzzled. How can someone who says things that are biologically incorrect, accuse anyone else of being incorrect about anything?
Is it just me who finds that a puzzle?
I notice there was no response to my question at 17:58.
VS has the right not to reply of course, but it could also be ‘can’t.
Who knows?

I posted a very helpful Q and A with an actual trans adult man that would be very helpful to people's understanding Galaxy

Actually the information on social transition particularly for young people is not at all clear, there is not enough evidence that it helps and the guidelines currently are not to do it. The information coming out is becoming more and more concerning.
Every single step of the way the information has been incorrect, puberty blockers were harmful, social transition is not a neutral act.

Er no VS. Your response @ 17.07 accused me of being narrow minded which of course I disagree with, not of being incorrect, which I also disagree with.

The quoted comment I replied to is the comment of yours which is incorrect Smileless

No you didn't, you said it was incorrect and didn't explain why VS.

Mollygo Wed 06-Mar-24 17:58:58

But since only women (AHF) can get pregnant, the correct pronoun is she/her, or you’re asking other people to lie.

If they, and you VS choose to lie to themselves/ yourself and others then that’s your choice.

I’d really like to know whether you/they would agree that others have the right to claim things that aren’t true and expect you to perpetuate their lies?

I wonder what your answer will be?

I don’t see that being trans, lying that you’re a man and you’re pregnant gives you the right to compel others to lie against their will and their knowledge of biological truth.

Smileless2012 Wed 06-Mar-24 17:55:55

I'm not disputing that trans men can and have become pregnant and give birth VS, I am merely stating biological fact that they can, because they are biologically women ie adult females.

I don't know why you feel the need to suggest that anyone posting here is suggesting they are not "perfectly good people" and would not make "good parents".

Perhaps you could explain what is incorrect about my comment VS.

You'd think so wouldn't you Mollygo if they have gender dysphoria.

I did, you just need to read it

Here is an article that answers some common questions

One of the answers to helping a trans man cope with gender dysphoria in pregnancy is to keep using the correct pronouns

This will help people be less inclined to trigger trans peoples gender dysphoria by knowing that actually, continuing to misgender trans people is a deeply unkind and potentially harmful thing to do

Trans men can and do have children with men and trans women and they are perfectly good people and good parents who deserve some respect

I hope I offend nobody especially with MH issues but

No offence but total agreement!😄

I don't doubt that "trans men becoming pregnant can cause issues with gender dysphoria" VS but that doesn't alter the fact that trans men are biologically women because if they weren't, they couldn't become pregnant.

Females can get pregnant, whether they’re claiming to be TM or not.
However, if someone who’s GD compels them to claim to be a man, decides to get pregnant, going against the dictates of her gender claims, that’s almost a self inflicted invitation to have MH problems.

I expect the parents thought it would turn out alright Cossy because they were following medical advice.

I guess so! Poor parents and poor child!

Which disproves the belief/theory that transgender is always due to gender dysphoria Rosie. Surely the last thing a trans man with genuine gender dysphoria would want to do, would be to become pregnant.

This is the comment I was answering just to make my responses clear

This comment is incorrect

Anybody read about the Canadian twins and Dr. John Money?
One had his penis damaged beyond repair as a baby so they removed his male organs, built him or rather her as he became a vagina and got the parents to raise him as a girl. It all went horribly wrong. Gender did not overcome biological sex. Too often doctors think they have the answer. Too many are persuaded changing sex is the answer to all their problems but it ain’t necessarily so. More research rather than doling out pills and mutilating youngsters needs to be done.

That sounds horrific and is very different from a fully formed fully mature man or woman making decisions for themselves!

How on earth did they expect that would turn out? It’s bordering on abuse!

Smileless2012 Wed 06-Mar-24 17:15:50

I haven't read about them Avalon, it sounds like a tragic case where parents were trying to do the right thing by their son on medical advice, which turned out to be wrong.

Personal responsibility does not necessitate perpetuating a myth. A trans man is a biological woman and only a woman can become pregnant.

That's actually quite narrow minded, obviously many people wish to have their own biological children and that is an available avenue for some trans men

Some gay couples also wish it were possible to have their own (shared) biological children

Wanting to have children has nothing to do with gender at all

It is also true that trans men becoming pregnant can cause issues with gender dysphoria and they may need extra support to cope
