Transgender women born between 31 October 1953 and 6 November 1953 may be eligible for State Pension from 31 October 2018 to the date of their 65th birthday.

I’m not sure how I feel about this.

All the lesbians i know think transwomen are men. Are they acceptable lesbians. Or naughty lesbians grin

They are entitled to their belief, it is protected under the Equality Act

How many lesbians do you personally know? If you know more lesbians than I do does that add some sort of extra weight?

Are lesbians going to have a vote on whether lesbians are actually lesbians if they date trans women?

Now do you see that's a statement that says exactly nothing?

But if you said it was flat it would have no impact on the reality.
Acknowledging reality doesnt impact its beauty either.

Except that your beliefs are protected and beliefs aren't facts

Science proved the world is round and science is understanding that being trans is a biological difference

And people on this thread also believe that there is only XX and XY yet we know that belief is wrong too don't we?

Well said Mollygo

I’ve just read this quote by the inspirational imo author Margaret Atwood. ‘Men are an afraid women will laugh at them, women are afraid men will kill them’.

To say that a lesbian is not a lesbian if they do not subscribe to GC ideology is some next level discriminatory nonsense

I hope no one else agrees with you on that one

I thought we had made great strides against homophobia and yet now we have acceptable lesbians and not acceptable lesbians

Big step backwards there

I don't think the world is flat, I think it is round, diverse and beautiful...

Galaxy Fri 08-Mar-24 21:45:23

My label makes no difference VS. In the same way if I said the earth was flat it would make no difference to the shape of the world. Its upsetting I know.

Mollygo Fri 08-Mar-24 21:42:24

In case you don’t understand VS, lesbians who want heterosexual sexual relationships are not lesbians.

By definition, lesbians want sexual relationships only with females.
The only lesbians and gays that I know only have intimate relations with others of the same sex.

There is nothing to stop them deciding to be heterosexual, or indeed flipping between the two - they call it bi. But even bi are born with one sex and remain that sex throughout their lives.

Going down the dangerous path that bi are lesbians is discriminatory against lesbians and leads to them being unfairly treated by males.
If you, as a self proclaimed bi decide to have sexual relations with a female one day and a male the next, you surely don’t claim you flip from being lesbian to heterosexual, but say you are bi.

My second to last paragraph
^ All those actions by TW who do them, cause a fear of TW that is certainly not irrational and when they hit the headlines with those actions it might arouse fear that being a TW means they do those things.^

Is not transphobic, though maybe I didn’t put it simply enough for you to understand.

It basically explains that because all we hear about TW are the negative things that those TW do, they may fear that all TW are like that.

The answer lies in the hands of those TW.
They and their TRA supporters are responsible.

They need to stop doing things that bring their TW label into disrepute by discriminating against and harming females.
Stop their TRA supporters threatening and harming females.

Doing that would benefit ALL trans, and the females who suffer at the hands of those some TW.

VioletSky Fri 08-Mar-24 21:39:30

That is the very definition of placing someone in the box that suits you Galaxy

When the government itself allows that there is likely a biological difference

You can't even allow for women to keep their safe spaces and trans women to be trans women

It's your label or nothing, no matter what

Galaxy Fri 08-Mar-24 21:25:07

Nope. We dont have that kind of power. If someone is Male it is nothing to do with what box I put them in. If I pretend and say they are female they will remain Male.

VioletSky Fri 08-Mar-24 21:22:44

Have fun!

Bridie22 Fri 08-Mar-24 21:22:28

Whatever VS, im off to catch up with Emmerdale! Laters🙂

VioletSky Fri 08-Mar-24 21:20:47

You do not have the power to define another human being

That is the main problem on this thread really isn't it?

People thinking they can put people in the boxes they think they belong in and they should jolly well stay there

Bridie22 Fri 08-Mar-24 21:17:59

As demonstrated by the posters comments on this thread your views are a world apart from others, and sometimes in your quest to be right and heard your comments occasionally make no logical sense...I don't see rudeness there at all.

VioletSky Fri 08-Mar-24 21:16:21

Everything

Bridie22 Fri 08-Mar-24 21:11:42

What is rude about that ?

VioletSky Fri 08-Mar-24 21:10:33

Bridie22

VS you live in a parallel universe to most of us and rarely make sense!

.

Bridie22 Fri 08-Mar-24 21:08:56

Which comment

VioletSky Fri 08-Mar-24 21:06:45

Quite a few of them really

Perhaps the view is that others can call me ignorant, passive aggressive etc etc because I don't agree with them therefore I do not deserve respect in a discussion

Hmmm interesting

Bridie22 Fri 08-Mar-24 21:04:44

Which comment?

VioletSky Fri 08-Mar-24 21:03:40

So, your comment was not rude but mine was?

Please explain that to me

Bridie22 Fri 08-Mar-24 21:01:09

I think you are ignorant on many fronts VS and you are now nearing the rudeness boundary.

VioletSky Fri 08-Mar-24 20:59:18

Bridie22

Who are you talking to VS?

Well you were the last one to do it but the repeating what I said back to me with a lol thing is very childish

Are we having an adult conversation?

Of not how can I trust you to make reasonable decisions about how to best protect women and trans people?
