Clearly the Republicans want him and clearly the blob is scared of him.

I predict he'll win bigly.

😁

What a scary movie the 2024 Usa elections are.

Truly scary.

I am hoping that Biden or Robert F. Kennedy Jr. shall somehow win the electoral college and votes.

California, Washington State, Oregon, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Vermont are historically democratic.

So, all my best wishes to both Biden and Kennedy !!

I have listened to several interviews of Kennedy and he has definitely some very wise initiatives.

Biden stepped on his toes for the Democratic ballot and that is when Kennedy changed to an Independent Format Party.

Many young people will not vote for Trump and neither will the gay population nor women in states that do not provide legal abortions.

The Mexicans that can vote shall not vote for Trump as he detests Latin Americans. Trump is an enormous racist.

He has stated he wants to deport all Muslims and Latin Americans that are studying or put in Asylum Documents.

I watched all of Biden’s State of the Union speech and he nailed it.
Dispels 100 percent all the naysayers about Biden’s capabilities due his age. His message was spot on and very powerful .
Bravo !

It was great - but it was a prepared speech with no questions afterwards. How is he going to fare in different circumstances?

There are agitators, opinionators, influencers, questioners, old farts, supporters and mediators, followers… even bullies on GN. Something for everyone here; always makes for an interesting read - keeps the blood flowing, you know?

People purport to be at least one or more of the above. I kind of get the feel of GN nation and it pleases me.

By the time I read the daily topic(s) here in the US, the news is actually two days OLD news. Let’s give it a couple of days and see how you feel after the State of the Union from last night.
Cheers!

I think if Trump gets in then the world will be a very dangerous place indeed. The stupid man will start world war three

I think this time around as POTUS he will be more savvy. He’ll know the ropes. Perhaps not such good news for Ireland, the EU and China though.

I find it impossible to believe he’ll be “more savvy” In my view he’s a narcissistic, sexist, racist, raving lunatic!

Whilst he’s not our problem, sadly as POTUS, a very powerful nation, he’s a danger to us all.

Look at how the US stepped back a 190 years last time! Trying to overturn Obama care, allowing States to ban abortions, people with US citizen but born abroad barred from returning, the whole Mexican Wall rubbish, mocking a disabled journalist, denying Covid then putting forward the most ridiculous solutions! Why ANYONE in their right right mind would ever vote for him us utterly beyond me!

He cannot even manage his own personal fortune, let alone a country’s finances!

Heaven help us all!

I second that

Thirded!

I listened to the first part and I think it will do him a great deal of good. It was a positive speech that attacked Trump without actually saying his name. It was going down very well!

Biden’s state of the union speech has been received with absolute delight.

People are saying it is the best SoU speech they’ve ever seen.

I must watch it.

I believe that a good leader should also be a role model for our young populations and children; someone of good moral character who cares about the path to the future that they are paving for others to follow after they are long gone. What ever happened to sound mind and moral character as a requirement to being a qualified leader? As a parent, I would not like my young daughters looking up to a man that says he can do anything he wants to woman, because he is a star.

Trump is a cult leader, a narcissist, a rapist and a delusional being with a huge ego. His rhetoric and lies remind me of the types of men that become dictators via. the votes from their brain-washed followers that can no longer decipher good character and sound mind from bad character and demented mind. He may have made great business decisions in his younger life but now he has lost his ability to think past his own agenda and believes he is royalty. I'm hoping for a miracle. Any one but Trump. At least Kamala seems sane. I am currently stuck in the U.S..

Macadia Fri 08-Mar-24 04:06:05

The quote about Trump saying the Republicans were stupid enough to vote for him has been proven to be "Fake News". It swirled around on the internet passed from post to post until it was shared so many times, readers believed it to be true. It's not true.

NotSpaghetti Fri 08-Mar-24 00:28:19

Ah... so he is right sometimes..

SeaWoozle Fri 08-Mar-24 00:04:20

Voila!

Syracute Thu 07-Mar-24 23:48:49

To get this thread back on track : here is a thought: Trump was a lifelong Democrat. When he decided to switch to Republican he was asked why . He said : because they are stupid enough to vote for me !

I dare say there’s only so much ‘Trump’ most people can bear in a week!
😱

But you started this thread !

I know.
That’s why I said ‘most’ people!

I very much doubt that asylum seekers are the actual cause of people not being able to access an NHS dental care

Nor did I say it was Maybee. I was actually simply setting out the position re the benefits asylum seekers are entitled to in the UK.
But in fairness, I can understand that some people (not myself as I have an NHS dentist) may feel aggrieved when they cannot access NHS dental care but see others able to access it. Surely you can see they may feel aggrieved about that?
The bigger picture is that this government have overseen this lack of access to NHS dentistry and I abhor it. The fault lies with this government entirely.

Maybe he'll build a wall around the White House to keep us all out!
That would be lovely.

Totally a disgrace if this vile, vulgar, racist, insane criminal gets into the White House.

He really is horrifying and cruel ..

More or less my POV. Seriously scary a a like him can be re-elected POTUS.

But the big question is - what's the appeal? I think in times of great difficulty people seek a sort of magical solution, the image rather than the reality of a strong leader who can lead them to the promised land.
So much so that the actual record of what they have been or done (documented by other posters above) is literally not believed especially in an age of social media.

History is littered with such (nearly all male) "Strong, confident, leaders" and some have been very, very dangerous indeed.

I was shocked to find that over a quarter of the money has provided for NHS dentistry in my area remains unspent.

That IS shocking!
