Good afternoon! It's still morning here and I am taking a break at work. Slushy rain falling, it could easily turn to snow.

Yesterday I took the day off and went with DH to a medical appointment MRI in the next town. The next town is 140 km away, so 1.5 hrs there, and return. We took the day, did some shopping at their large hardware store, had lunch then drove home after his appointment. However, it had started to snow on the way home, so it was very slow going. He drove up, I drove home.

here's a photo from the highway web-cam, it was very similar conditions coming home yesterday. Living in BC has it's ups and downs!

Good morning Mick and all. I have been to hospital for a CT scan this morning. I had a volunteer driver and we got there a bit early. So I was seen, scanned and we were back in the car before my appointment time!
We had the bathroom refurb begin yesterday. So the bath is out, and the shower tray is down. Tiling being done today and maybe the shower screen will go up. We were going to have Wall Panels, but changed our/ my mind. Hopefully the chosen tiles will match in with the originals 🤞. It will be great when finished, but I don't like the early starts.
Loving thoughts to Harrigran, and the family.
Going to have a restorative coffee and think about what to have to eat tonight. Probably sausages with mash, swede and something green.
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 8°C.

I was at the hospital yesterday for my Botox follow up. The tests are quite intense and always leave me feeling dazed and confused. Not much else was achieved after that!

Have a good day all whatever you’re doing 🌻

Feelingmyage55 Thu 07-Mar-24 10:36:25

Good morning from a very chilly north of Scotland. Going for an afternoon tea, so no lunch as it will include savouries as well as all the usual sweet things.
💐💐💐 harrigran,urms,marydoll and, well, everyone.

GrannySomerset Thu 07-Mar-24 10:35:45

Thank you for this. Susan. I am surprised at how upset I am but know I was right not to persevere. We live and learn.

Susan56 Thu 07-Mar-24 09:48:12

GrannySomerset I am so sorry for your experience with the cat.💐I can imagine how battered you are feeling. We had a similar experience with a rescue dog many years ago who we had to return.Turns out she shouldn’t have been rehomed with children. It took us a while to get over the upset.

Marydoll Thu 07-Mar-24 09:36:27

In case any of the Glesca Grannies haven't seen it, there is meet up on Weds 17th April same time, same place.
Something to look forward to!

Good morning from another bright sunny day in Stirling. After my haircut yesterday I spent time scrubbing the passenger seat in my car. On Tuesday I had bought fish in M&S and stupidly put it on the seat where the packet must have leaked! When I opened the door yesterday the smell just hit me 🐟🐟🐟🐟 not very pleasant to say the least. Dh was not impressed. Fortunately being a nice day I could leave the windows open. I haven’t ventured out to see what it is like this morning, any tips? May do some shopping today nothing else planned till GD2 comes in after school. Hope you all have some sun today.

Good morning everyone from another dull and grey day in Northampton. But the message I've just had from Ernie has just brightened my day!

A morning of pottering then a Sainsbury's delivery; after lunch I shall hop on the bus to the shops; just a few odds and ends to get, and I want to look in Next for a top to go with a long black and white skirt.

Home-made Bolognese from the freezer for dinner tonight. And probably a glass of red wine.

Hoping Thursday is kind to all.

Marydoll Thu 07-Mar-24 09:13:43

A mini Glesca Grannies meet up! 😁

Grandmabatty Thu 07-Mar-24 09:10:58

Stilllearning and Marydoll I'm jealous! Have a lovely time.

Marydoll Thu 07-Mar-24 09:09:39

Stilllearning, I am going to The Theatre Royal! I will look out for you!! x

EkwaNimitee Thu 07-Mar-24 09:01:25

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
I resumed tidying up jobs in the garden yesterday, getting ready to put out my chairs and table ready for coffee in the sun. Only spoilt by the two aggressive big dogs which are now next door and lunge at the fence barking every time they spot me. I'm having to keep a lid on my own aggressive feelings. Hope I'm not getting this all summer when I spend a lot of time outside, gardening is my most pleasurable hobby
Today, I hope to get out and clean my patio paving, it's looking a bit green with all the algal growth encouraged by the winter rains. Anything to avoid the admin which is piling up on my desk....
I'm sorry about your cat GrannySomerset, very odd behaviour which I hope doesn't put you off trying again with another.

And have the best possible day everyone.

Grandmabatty Thu 07-Mar-24 08:49:50

Stilllearning I, too, saw The Play that went wrong and I'm pretty sure I've seen Peter Pan goes wrong too. They are absolutely hilarious. Enjoy your theatre visit and also Marydoll.

GrannySomerset Thu 07-Mar-24 08:45:18

Yesterday was difficult because the cat had to be returned to her previous owner after a number of attacks on me which came out of the blue and with no obvious cause. No animal charity was able to take her and the local vet, who knows her, thinks she cannot be rehomed but her previous owner doesn’t want her put to sleep. I was clearly not told the whole story of her behaviour because I would not have taken her on if I had known. All this has been very time consuming and upsetting and is not the cat’s fault, but in forty years of cat slavery I have never met behaviour like it. So an unhappy time all round and I feel surprisingly battered by it, literally and emotionally.

We have fine weather forecast for the next few days which will be very welcome and allow the washing to be dried outside and the garden to receive a little atttention. Not before time!

Bonnybanko Thu 07-Mar-24 08:39:51

Good morning my friends. I’ve been locked out of Facebook and messaging for hrs now, thankfully my son fixed it for me. I’m just awake it feels freezing out there on the east coast of Fife I’ll need to get wide awake for my carer she’ll be in soon. It looks dry and overcast today I’ll just have a rest day binge watching tv

Stilllearning Thu 07-Mar-24 08:38:24

Morning from my bit of South Lanarkshire which is brightening up now.

Marydoll are you going to the Theatre Royal by any chance?
Two friends are taking me there this afternoon (birthday treat) to see Peter Pan Goes Wrong. We saw this company several years ago do The Play that Went Wrong and it was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen so I hope this is as good.

Glad you’re set up with your TV Mick, you will have been missing your cycling viewing.

A lovely lunch yesterday with DGD catching up with all her news, she seems very happy at the moment so that was good to see.

What a lovely surprise from your DGDs Taichinan, they are very thoughtful, a precious memory for you. Your lovely ‘decadent’ lunch sounded such a happy occasion to Kalu, wonderful.

Have the best day possible everyone, no one forgotten in my prayers

Gingster Thu 07-Mar-24 08:32:33

Taichinan we both overlook the North Sea but from one end of the country to the other . It can be very Baltic!

RosesandLilac Thu 07-Mar-24 08:25:58

Good morning a foggy start to the day here in south Glos, it would be so lovely to have sunshine ☀️
I enjoyed a chatty early dog walk yesterday with my friend and her dog, lovely to be out first thing.
I didn’t sleep much at all last night so a tetchy day ahead, I will keep out of dh’s way.
Dog walk and I should go to art group this afternoon but will see how I feel.
I long for a break away somewhere but DH completely disinterested and I don’t want to go on my own….
Have a lovely day 🌹

Gingster Thu 07-Mar-24 08:22:08

Good morning from another glorious day here on the Suffolk coast. We’ve been so lucky this week. Yesterday was so warm , we had coffee and lunch in the garden. Pittcity you aren’t far from us, but don’t seem to be having our weather 🤔.

The plumber messaged to say he wouldn’t be able to come and he’s off skiing today, so that’s that! We have to have baths instead of showers .Oh well!

Mizuna I thought of you yesterday as I walked along the beach, breathing in the sea air. Invigorating!

Bellasnanna you remind me of when our twins were little. Double buggies and haircuts. 😫. Our will be 18 next month! 👬.

Brooke what a good idea - reading and relaxing in your pjs for World Book Day.
The costumes are so expensive to buy. Our little gd has a Mary Poppins outfit. Very cute but ££££££!
Next month they have Viking Day - another costume to buy.! 😤.
A busy day for you MD . Have fun.

love to all 🌷

Alygran Thu 07-Mar-24 08:14:02

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The weather forecast is thick cloud and breezy.
Off to have coffee with a friend this morning then some general tidying up and a bit of ironing before I head off to see the DDs for the weekend.
Have a good day everyone.

Sar53 Thu 07-Mar-24 08:13:58

Good morning from a lovely bright and sunny Essex coast.
Food shopping this morning, then DH has a hospital appointment this afternoon with a Rheumatologist. I'm hoping they can get to the bottom of his bouts of joint pain.
DGD2 is back to school today after her latest Asthma attack. She has missed so much schooling this year due to illness.
Have a pleasant day everyone xx

Taichinan Thu 07-Mar-24 08:12:46

Good morning all from a grey dank Angus coast. I shall be saying that for at least another week - as predicted, the winds are now coming out of the east and off the North Sea. Ah well, it was a lovely winter and early spring. Sigh.
Nothing much to report from here as yesterday was 'lazy Wednesday', tucked between my two tai chi and shopping days.
Still holding harrigran's family in my thoughts.
Have a good day everyone, particularly those enjoying the sunshine x
