I’m late, I’m late…..
Good morning from Bristol. It looks like it might have drizzled in the night, but feels mild.
I took half an otc antihistamine as I haven’t had a proper night for weeks, and managed a really good night last night!
The interview with the PhD student went well. She wanted to know how much I had changed my habits since she gave me various things, like a timer for the shower, etc. I told her I was “perfect” (😂) and had always done the right things so, no, I hadn’t changed my energy/water use and tried to be as kind to the environment as I could. She will send everyone a short resume of her results. Her thesis will be done by summer 2025.
Church coffee this morning. Unlike you, Ash, this is the first time in my life that my children are treating me for Mothering Sunday. (Philip, when very little, called it “Mothercare” 🫂). I’m spending the day with the family tomorrow and SiL is cooking lunch.
DS called briefly yesterday afternoon and told me all about his meeting with other UWC heads in Thailand. He was allowed to go a week early for a few other meetings. He was so happy, despite the work, he loves Thailand.
Have a great weekend, everyone. Carpe diem.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Another dreary start to the South Yorkshire day. As usual all forecasts say different things. The only thing they agree on is that it’s cold! I have nothing planned for today except to sweep the drive now the skip has gone, and do some batch cooking for the freezer. I might treat myself to some fish and chips for tea.
Have the best day you can folks!

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Barely light . I didn't sleep well so will try to get through the busy morning and have a snooze later. I'm on café duty at our open house.

My new volunteer Helpers arrived last night from Canada and I have a list of jobs for them in the next fortnight. They seem very nice young people.

DS and DDiL have invited me to lunch tomorrow which will be lovely.

I hope everyone has a good weekend whatever you get up to.

Morning Mick, morning All from a disappointingly damp corner of Somerset.

Todays task is to put the shower door back in one piece. What seemed like an easy job yesterday ( Mr C said five minutes!) turned into anything but. Wish us luck. The wretched thing is heavy and awkward.

I had hoped to do some garden pottering, looks like the weather will keep me indoors. I’ll find something to faff with - once that door is sorted. Could do with some muscle really, none available so we’ll manage.

Same for me with family ash, enjoy your lunch. There will be a a Chinese meal tomorrow, looking forward to that.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning, gloomy wet and cold day in s somerset

I can see me knitting dungarees for mouche bear today, hope there is something good and mindless on tv, so I can concentrate on my knitting, or I could watch some of my dvds.

I have one shelf to clear and de-clutter later and perhaps make a big lasagne to portion and freeze for ready meals. I think this one will be veggie. That plus scones will warm the kitchen nicely

Basically though, I will just take the day as it comes

Have a good day

Good morning from a wet Torbay, which at least means the wind has eased.

Coffee morning at church then out for lunch with a friend from there. Neither of us is likely to see family this weekend so we are celebrating “Mothering Saturday” together!

I hope the weekend brings some happiness to all, whatever your circumstances. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
