Good Morning Everyone,
Still dark with signs of overnight ran here in brackley this morning.
My usual routine of things bus to Bicester , plus yesterday had a email as to a west end show , the coach firm who do the trips took note of my suggestion as to going to see Phantom in London , they have chased it up and have given a date and now taking bookings for later this year.
Me apart from usual routine a quiet day.
Take Care,
Mick

GrandmaMattie so sorry to read your horrible news. I hope your bank will work their socks off to get things sorted out for you. Scammers really are the scum of the earth.
Please try to not feel guilty in any way; these are super-nasty clever people.

Taichinan Fri 15-Mar-24 08:34:18

grandmattie I'm so sorry. I know it's no comfort, but I almost got caught by that one a few years ago. These fraudsters can be so convincing. I felt sick for days afterwards so I understand how awful you feel 🤗

Kalu Fri 15-Mar-24 08:34:05

Good morning from Glasgow.

What a nightmare GM! These heartless scammers constantly pop up and are so sophisticated with their bait. I was almost caught out too recently, supposedly by Apple telling me a virus had hit my phone and I to urgently change my security provider. It was so professionally done, I was panicking about security but at the last minute I decided to delete the message.

You will be in shock but the police and bank will support you through this as will your family. (((((Hugs))))

GM so sorry to hear this 💐

Good morning everyone from Severnside.

GrannySomerset Fri 15-Mar-24 08:26:34

How devastating, gMattie, if this can happen to you it can happen to any of us. Do hope you can sort it quickly and are not too upset by it all.

hollysteers Fri 15-Mar-24 08:19:15

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Enjoyable day with Italian meal and friend in the city yesterday. Bought books in bookshop with character but have left them in a pub taking a last drink before catching the train🙄 The bag also contained my bad back Velcro support..will ring today. Then I was so caught up in my book on the train I went past my stop and had to cross over to catch a train back to pick up my car.

Off to art now, then a piano recital.
Grandmattie that’s just horrible for you. I hope all gets resolved.

dragonfly46 Fri 15-Mar-24 08:17:14

So sorry to hear your news Mattie I hope they can recover your money.

Grammaretto Fri 15-Mar-24 08:16:05

I hope your rheumatologist can help you with the pain Marydoll

Grammaretto Fri 15-Mar-24 08:12:22

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. The thick fog is beginning to lift.

gMattie I am shocked and angry on your behalf. I hope it is resolved quickly but you do lose trust and confidence -hard to regain.
You are a strong and resilient!

I took my Canadian helpers to ceilidh dancing last night. They loved it and think it the highlight of their stay.

I'm doing my shift in the community store and have said I will cook tonight.

Have rhe best day you can everyone.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 15-Mar-24 08:03:44

Good morning from East Yorkshire.

I am so sorry to read about your predicament GM what a shock for you. As someone who gives so much to others you must feel devastated to have this happen to you. 💐

PoppyFlower Fri 15-Mar-24 07:53:45

I feel I have to send my hugs and sympathy to GM too. Crossing my fingers tightly for you. 💖

Liberty Fri 15-Mar-24 07:51:55

Dear grandMattie….devastating news to read from a beautiful sunny Suffolk morning. I can only imagine how utterly heart wrenching the whole thing has made you feel and especially when you acted from your generous and ever helpful soul.

Words are insufficient to express my sympathy for you.
Please let others care for you and ease your distress.

Marydoll Fri 15-Mar-24 07:50:35

Sorry, I'm a bit muddled this morning. 😔

Marydoll Fri 15-Mar-24 07:49:24

Good morning all, from a showery Glasgow.

GM Batty, I hope you are beginning to feel better, if not, please see your GP.

So shocked GM, these scammers are so sophisticated now. I was nearly caught out the other day by an email, (and I'm pretty savvy, due to my training) but decided to do a Google search and also go into my account on another device before acting on it. It was indeed a scam.

Have a pleasant day folks.

I have an appointment with the rheumatologist this morning, it cannot come soon enough. I have had no sleep again, there is no respite. Imagine having toothache all over your body.😖

Enjoy your day folks. Make the best of good/reasonable health, while you are able to!

Grandmabatty Fri 15-Mar-24 07:47:36

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and wet. No bletherings from me today either. GrandMattie I'm saddened by your news. I hope your family can support you. All the best.

Chrissielou Fri 15-Mar-24 07:41:48

grandMattie what a despicable thing to happen, I am so sorry for you. How stressful and frustrating for you.

glammagran Fri 15-Mar-24 07:41:02

Just returned to read posts prior to mine.

I’m so very shocked and saddened that such a deeply unpleasant incident has occurred for you GM. I hope that it’s resolved asap and the wicked perpetrators caught and severely punished. 💐,

Good morning all from the Black country.

Stilllearning Fri 15-Mar-24 07:36:08

Good morning from South Lanarkshire, I am shocked and sorry to read your ‘news’ grandMattie, please God it will all be sorted out soon.
You must have got such a fright when you realised, I’m glad your daughter is near you. X

farview Fri 15-Mar-24 07:32:22

GM so very sorry...no one deserves this. ⚘
Agree with kitty when you are able ..more details to warn us all..

RosesandLilac Fri 15-Mar-24 07:29:55

Good morning.
Oh grandMattie, how utterly despicable these scum are. Sending a big hug and I hope it gets resolved quickly xx
All too easy I imagine, I very nearly got caught up in a scam too, a few months ago.

Gingster Fri 15-Mar-24 07:28:39

So sorry to hear this GM and thanks for the warning.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 15-Mar-24 07:26:35

Good morning from a grey S E Essex, no idea what the weather is supposed to be today 🤷‍♀️

Oh dear grandMattie what a truly frightening thing to happen, how do these thieving people live with themselves? Have faith in the bank and police to sort this matter out.

I am on Granny duty for GS F today, which involves taking him to Gymnastics, then it’s picking up his sister from school, just enough time to walk up the hill and pick up The Imp and his brother from their school.

Chaos will then ensue…

Once they are returned to their homes DH and I are off back down the hill to our favourite local Indian restaurant.

Have a good day everyone 🙋‍♀️

Pittcity Fri 15-Mar-24 07:25:26

Good morning from a bright, mild Colchester. No sign of the forecast rain. Today's high is 15°.

A quiet weekend here again.

I just want to give GM a big hug 🫂

Love to all 🦩 x

kittylester Fri 15-Mar-24 07:25:09

Good morning from a cloudy and windy North Leicestershire.

GM, that is shocking. I am so sorry.

We know this sort of thing goes on but it is all the more shocking to hear of it happening to someone we 'know'.

If, and when, you feel able, please tell you story. It might be cathartic for you and a warning for others.
