Just a lighthearted thread but apart from adorable bitzer mutts, what are you 3 favourite breeds of dog?
I like Border collies, malamutes and golden retrievers/labradors ( equally) . I actually like most dogs but they are all just excessively gorgeous.

I have to add Afghan Hounds. Beautiful but bonkers - or at least ours was.

Kupari, I agree. Cairn terriers are the characters of the dog world, tough, clever, disobedient, and so funny. They make it up as they go along, always up to something of their own invention.

Airedale
Welsh Terrier
Patterdale

Any terrier actually!

Another useless bit of information alert, did you know today is National Puppy Day? 🐶 🐶

No!

I know it's Palm Sunday 🙂

Cairn Terriers - they are so naughty, independent and great fun. Never a dull moment in our house!
Westies
Patterdales.

Unsurprisingly, German shepherds for me, also labradors which my granny had when I was a child and which I remember with great affection. I have no real experience of any other breed.

I love this thread. You think you know all the dog breed names, then along come posters with some new breeds they like, and you have to look them up and see photos.

Border collies , Wire haired fox terrier. Airedale My friend has a Yorkshire terrier/Maltese terrier cross and my OH keeps dropping hints about getting one....I dont think our cats would be happy

Our Yorkshire terrier loathed cats. We used to have a lot stalking through our garden until he arrived. They used to sit on the fence and taunt him.

Obviously I love all dogs, but one year at Crufts I saw my first Glen of Amaal terrier at the Discovering Dogs section. It seemed to look right inside my soul … a very strange feeling and I’ve never forgotten that incident.

Just had a Google - what a great dog , such lovely faces. 🙂

We once had a dingo crossed with who knows what. He was a gorgeous boy, loyal and spirited. People used to stop and stare at him because they thought he was purebred. We got him from the RSPCA as a rescue. He didn’t bark and he was always climbing things which I suppose was the dingo in him. Missed him terribly when he died.

I think DD's dog may have a bit of dingo in him but she says not. He's very clever, well-trained, obedient and loyal.
And a good looking dog too.

Labrador, Labrador, Labrador! But seriously, I like all dogs, especially big dogs.

Great Danes, I've had three, flatcoats, working cookers.

German shepherds mini schnauzers and cane corso

Border Collie, lurcher (yes, I know it's not an actual breed) and Italian Spinone. Not always in that order, but I've just got back from a walk where my Spin ate half a cow pat and rubbed his face in something unidentifiable. My lovely collie/lurcher cross behaved beautifully, as she always does!

Curlywhirly Sun 24-Mar-24 13:50:45

Golden labrador, black labrador and chocolate labrador! As you can guess, I just love labrador retrievers - so gentle, loyal and good natured. Having said that I do love all dogs.

Delila Sun 24-Mar-24 13:07:37

Cairn terriers
Labradors
Jack Russells

In no particular order….. ok, I admit to a very soft spot for Cairn terriers, so clever, funny and naughty.

dogsmother Sun 24-Mar-24 13:05:24

I just love dogs. I’ve only had a Labrador, two Australian terriers and a toy poodle of my own. Care of plenty others too along the way of course. But I really love them all.

Just one favourite breed - Coton de Tulear. Best dogs ever, but then I am biased as I have two smile

Georgesgran Sun 24-Mar-24 12:59:38

Working Spaniels, cockers or springers. Spaniels and more spaniels.
