I did try the caramel ones. I actually liked them.
But I agree with traditional is nice.

M&S were offering -trying to offload- some chilli ones one year, 2-4-1 so I bought them for Mr PG who loved ‘em! I’m a can’t beat ordinary ones, buttered, girl 😋

I picked up a pack in Aldi and only spotted the flavour when I got home. Banofee. Yuck. I hate banana flavoured anything.

I tried some chocolate ones, awful as a hot cross bun and not the right texture or enough flavour to be a chocolate cake/bun.

I have proper ones for today.

We’ve got these hot cross buns, for Easter.
They’re lovely.
I just eat them as they are - no butter 🤤

DH picked up some with caramel by mistake but noticed before we went to pay for them and swapped them for traditional ones.

I have no idea - there's nowt wrong with the traditional recipe!

Picked a pack up in a hurry - lemon and white chocolate!!
Why on earth are Hot X buns ever buggered about with - the traditional recipe is so nice.
To me, white chocolate is the work of Satan anyway. 😈
