Good Morning, it’s beautiful here today so sunny and warm
My middle Daughter is visiting but she and Granddaughter have stopped off with my Sister so they will be here this afternoon
I have the room ready and the put-u-up is there if they decide not to sleep together , should be fun !
I’m potting up my tomato plants , they look a bit puny , might have moved them into the Greenhouse too soon ,

Morning all,
Stay-at-home Easter this year. My children and families live far away and have plans. We need a grand clear out at home, OH preparing for a future boot sale - slow progress and the stress to me of housing all the stuff far outweighs any financial benefit. But it’s a dry, bright day, so onwards and upwards. Our neighbours will be coming in on Monday so will be baking a cakes or two tomorrow. Wishing all a good day. x

DD is away to a wedding and the DGC are spending the whole day with me.
I haven't persuaded them to get dressed yet but we have had our porridge. It's going to be a long day.

Poor Baubles. That sounds really painful. Are there any non opiates you can take? Aspirin?

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle...it was sunny when I got up but has now clouded over so I think it will be a day of uncertainty weatherwise.

I went to the garden centre yesterday for gravel, compost and a few small plants and bulbs. Then it was out in the garden to put in my sweet pea supports and then the plants themselves, followed by a bit of weeding.
I'd like to get out there again today but who knows? For now I'll do the ironing followed by a phone natter with my sister and reading my book if it's wet.

baubles and Marydoll, I hope you find some relief from pain today, you're both having a horrible time.

My daughter and children called in yesterday to pick up chocolate eggs, all of them are pleased to be on a break.
Washing to be done and seeds to be sown, newspaper day too.

DD and family arrived safely yesterday, laden with tulips so the house is full of flowers and looks very springlike. They are out today trying out a new violin for DGD at a specialist in Bristol and then seeing friends so I hope the sunshine stays with us.

Yesterday’s Easter activities in church were a great success, partly due to a very wet morning making an indoor activity very desirable, and it was wonderful to hear the buzz of creativity as Easter cards were made, bags and biscuits decorated, and the Easter garden carefully and thoughtfully brought to life by three little boys and one grown up.

Good morning from a brightening sky after a lovely day yesterday when very little of the threatened rain appeared.

Apart from a dog walk and finishing off the simnel cake I made yesterday, I have nothing else planned. There is a pile of ironing which keeps catching my eye but that can wait. I might pop down to our nearest town to fill up with fuel for our trip to DS’s tomorrow. It’s only 40 miles away but I’m very low and we are dependent on 1 car at the moment.

Otherwise a peaceful,quiet day when I hope to sit in the summerhouse where I can watch the rooks continue with their nest building. Hope today is a calm and peaceful day for all.

Late for me from a sunny Cornwall. Woke in the night and exchanged messages with my son who was on a taxi shift. Then made a cuppa, ate some food and read a book, all of this between 0300 and 0430. Anyway, am now back in the day and will prepare for same son to come for a meal this afternoon as he'll be with his dad tomorrow. He'll be cutting back the buddleia overhanging my patio before we eat and after our meal will be on another overnight taxi shift. Meanwhile my other son and his family, who I should have been away with, are having fun playing on beaches.

Good morning from a sunny South Downs. 🌞🌞🌞 must make the most of it! I shall ignore all indoor jobs and concentrate on the precious rain free couple of days in the garden.

Must finish pruning the winter honeysuckle that I started yesterday. It was covered in bees the whole of winter, so it serves its purpose very well. I will then start to renovate the bed underneath it is only about 10x6 but there is a lot of work to be done as I’m intending to dig it up entirely except the climbing roses and clematis and replant the whole thing into what I hope will make a better balance. All the right plants are there - just in the wrong order😄😄😄.

Just making my first cup of tea, then out with the dog for our. Usual early morning walk. I still haven’t abandoned my wellies- the mud has been ghastly this year.

We have a Thai vegetable curry tonight. It should have an aubergine in it but I forgot to buy one, so I shall have to innovate.

Off early this morning to meet the friends that I panicked about missing yesterday when I thought it was Saturday!
A twenty minute walk (uphill) to the bus stop, this no car malarkey has its moments!

This afternoon I’ll make the pudding for tomorrow’s Easter lunch at DD5’s, Son in L picking me up after church. I don’t usually ‘do’ pudding because of my heart but I feel like living dangerously😂. I read all the descriptions of cake baking on here with great envy! baubles, I totally agree with cornergran, I do hope things improve soon.

Ashcombe, you are having a difficult time too, I hope you enjoy the rest of Easter.

Good morning from a bright North Leicestershire.

Yesterday we had a successful hunt for new curtains for the 'children's' bedroom. We also found bright cushions and now just need to find some pictures.

In the evening we went to a pub in the village which boasts about it's new chef and an upgraded menu. I opted for cod with pancetta - I never did find the pancetta.

Today, DH is going to the football with DS1 so will need the customer fry up before he sets off.

A beautiful bright sunny morning here in Sefton. What a change from yesterday's torrential downpours/hailstorms which we watched whilst sitting in the car in the beach carpark which surprisingly was full...... there were lots of extremely wet dog walkers. We gave up on our beach/prom walk & had coffee & cake in the car instead.
Off to the theatre this morning with DiL, GD2 & the other grandma. (I always find attending a morning theatre performance rather strange.) We are going to see Madagascar. Then lunch in a favourite Italian. DH will be enjoying a pint & the footie with our 'boys'.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is trying hard today but it will be a dry day it seems. Cold though. I overdid the gardening a bit yesterday and was awake most of the night with back pain. I’m going out today to lunch and a matinee performance at the theatre with DD and the menfolk; “The Crucible” - at The Crucible! We also get to pick up the pots DD and I made at our pottery session a month ago. That’ll be interesting😏!

I did find a TENS machine helped, when all else failed.

Mixed bag of weather forecast for here in Essex today.
Yesterday turned out better than expected and the Easter egg hunt at DS1’s went ahead outside.

We had a lovely afternoon full of chat and laughter and a nice buffet to keep us going. Lots of Easter eggs which we’ll all enjoy over the coming weeks. Last year everyone agreed ‘no big eggs’ but it just wasn’t the same, so this year we’re back to a ‘choc fest’. 😂.

Today Dh hopes to go to a footie match with ds1 and I’ll continue to try to assemble my crochet jacket. I just can’t seem to get it right. 😵‍💫. Otherwise a peaceful day 🤞.

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. Yesterday’s birthday outing went well, the garden we like to visit was rather muddy but the magnolia were magnificent. DD2 and GD popped in to see us. Today DB is arriving and we shall be having a meal out this evening with all the available family.

I’m hoping to get out into the garden today, I managed half an hour yesterday and it felt so good. There’s lots of spring growth showing now and a few gaps to fill so I’m feeling like a trip to the garden centre will be on the cards soon

Good morning from the Essex coast where it is dry but dull.
We had a good time at the yacht club quiz last night and our team came second, out of four. Not so well supported this month probably because people are away.
Later this morning we are going to Winchelsea for the weekend to meet up with DD2 and family who have a holiday house there.
Fingers crossed 🤞 that there are no hold ups on the M25.
