Very sorry to hear this NannyG4. Try and rest whenever you can. Try and take one day or even one hour at a time which will help calm your racing thoughts and worries. You will get a lot of support and sympathy on this thread. My best wishes to you both.

I’m so sorry nannyg4. Of course you can come here, always a warm place, but I hope there is someone close to you who can give you a hug and be with you. Please rest if you can. X

NannyG4 Tue 28-May-24 00:12:07

A bit of a lurker here so i hope you don't mind me posting.
My DH was admitted to hospital today with severe heart failure (an ongoing health issue along with other complications) and tomorrow the Palliative Care Team are coming to talk with us regarding end of life care/ hospice admission...... I know Doodle has just experienced this herself....
I'm in a state if overwhelming shock... I hope you don't mind me expressing my fears with you all, you are all such lovely supportive and caring people..... With love x

cornergran Mon 27-May-24 20:40:00

Oh heck, neine. Totally understand your reactions but you know your solicitor will deal with others involved and give you accurate advice. Over to him. Please try to relax a bit and do your best to ignore contact from anyone who will be upsetting. We’re all here for you.

soop I’m so sorry you’re still so poorly and mr soop has had such challenges. My love to you both.

It’s always good to see everyone, I’ll not mention more individuals, always afraid of offence via omission.

We spent a couple of hours in our tiny garden today, in between very chilly showers. Much as I hate parting with anything growing one bed had become very crowded so with a deep breath some plants have gone to the great compost heap in the sky. The back part of this bed is destined to be separated from the rest with something as yet to be decided, then topped with membrane and slate with planted tubs we have already on top. The cleared area is about right now with the tubs resting on the soil. We hope it can be finished in the Spring. Mr C says he can do it, I’m hoping to conscript some younger muscle and would happily pay the development gardeners - if I’m permitted to do so! Watch this space.

Our family are all on their holidays this week. One group has headed to Cornwall with extended family, the other to the South coast. Suspect both places are a bit chilly on the beaches. It will be good for them all to have a change of scene, lots of stress about.

Mundane week for us. Jobs to catch up with, tedious but they need doing and I’ll feel a whole lot better when they are completed.

Have a good evening everyone. Look after yourselves.

Grandmabatty Mon 27-May-24 19:25:23

Good evening Kitcheners. Brook you wouldn't have it any other way! The sooner the house sells, the better for your DD. Grannmarie no boys today. Dd has the bank holiday. She did pop in on the way to the play group with dgs2 and I went to her house while dgs2 was sleeping to let her attend a meeting at the school. Yiayia don't overdo things!
I'm having a quiet night. Early start tomorrow. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners.

brook2704 Mon 27-May-24 18:24:51

Pleased to hear you’re feeling a bit better Yia now the new meds have kicked in, hope you enjoy making the Chelsea FC diamond art, a lovely present for Oscar
Good to hear you went out on Saturday night ann and you enjoyed the meal with your DGD. I wonder if my DGD will still want to go out with me when she’s all grown up - I hope so
Good news from DD2, the both the estate agent and the home report man have been round today, both seemed quite positive so now we just wait and keep everything crossed. Apparently the DGC might be having a few more sleepovers here ‘so they don’t mess the house up mum’ - I think I’m a very soft touch 🙄
Good to hear things are a bit better grannmarie, that’ll make it a bit easier to enjoy your well deserved holiday. Thank you also for your very kind comments

Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people.

Dear Soop, you and MrSoop are having a real time of it! Hoping and praying that MrSoop's surgery and your antibiotics do the trick and you are both restored to good health very soon. 🙏💐
I'm trying to keep up with all your news although I'm only posting sporadically these days....

Thinking of YiaYia, Blossoming, Annsixty, Doodle, and all Kitchen friends with illness, worries or sorrow. We're in the right place for gentle company and kind support.

Neine, I'm so glad that you can share your worries with us, I hope things are resolved soon for you. I'm sorry you're going through this.🙏

I hope SueD is having a wonderful time with her DS in the USA, best wishes to all on holiday/ visiting family.

Grandmabatty, I hope you've had a good day with your wee boys and you're putting your feet up now. Hope your Mum is a wee bit brighter soon.

Jaxjacky, the wedding venue was beautiful, so peaceful and serene. I hope your family had a great time. Good luck for your quiz night.

Brook, you are working so hard, you are a fantastic support to your DD at this difficult time. I hope all went well today and she can start planning for the future.
I wish you could bottle and sell some of your energy, I'm in desperate need!!

Thank you for your kind wishes for our upcoming holiday. I wasn't sure if we should go with the ongoing family health situations, but thankfully things are calmer just now, and we'll be needed again during the school holidays, so we're off in a few days. It'll help to recharge the batteries!

TOYA, wishing everyone a peaceful Monday evening.

Jaxjacky Mon 27-May-24 17:49:50

Hi all, a cooler day, sun, cloud and the odd sharp shower, I’ve finally got my greenhouse planted up for the next few months, so late this year. A brisk, but short walk, then we caught up with some missed TV, leftover bbq before we go out for quiz, I’ll be wrapped up.
I’m pleased you sent out at the weekend ann it makes a difference, sounds like a lovely meal.
As others have said neine do nothing until professionally advised, families!
Hope the EA visit went well brook.

mrshat Mon 27-May-24 17:31:52

Love and hugs to the Soops - onwards and positive thoughts.
Neine - I despair of your family. Sit tight, do nothing, leave it all to your solicitors and hopefully it will be sorted quickly and beneficially!!!
Thinking of you all, altho' I seldom post. flowers

Blossoming Mon 27-May-24 16:38:04

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. It’s been mostly sunny here today and I have been for a walk. More cyclists and dog walkers around today. The trains are running again, it’s lovely to see the little ones (and their dads) enjoying them.

Sending a big hug to the Soops, YiaYia and all having a tough time. As Maw said, I am thinking of you all even if I don’t name you.

Neine I am sorry to read of your latest family problems, I really can’t understand their behaviour either. I would not respond to them, your solicitor will be able to find out what the situation is and advise the appropriate response.

Have a peaceful evening ❤️

Yiayia4 Mon 27-May-24 15:21:10

Do hope the Soops are improving.

What a dreadful situation Neine. I hope it gets resolved soon.

I think the extra meds are kicking in🤞 just trying not to overdo it till we go away.We went to DS2 for dinner last night.GS2 is coping well with his GCSE’s,now on a weeks holiday then back for two weeks.Oscar wants me to make a diamond art Chelsea’s F.C banner for his birthday,no pressure of course.😀
Thinking of you Doodle.🌹

Sun and showers here, hope you are all having a nice afternoon.

GrannySomerset Mon 27-May-24 15:05:05

Hope you are able to sort things out, Neine, it all sounds very distressing. Am exhausted by spending a lot of money at the garden centre and then supervising my lovely gardener getting everything planted. Am very cheered by the prospect of lovely colour in the garden if and when we have a summer. This is a spring garden so needs help to look interesting. Need a rest now.

Urmstongran Mon 27-May-24 15:01:18

Seems like for once you’re holding all the cards neine. Sit tight. “If in doubt do nowt.” A way will become clear and in the meantime, relax, breathe and dare I say enjoy the tiny feeling of schadenfreude. I’d let them all stew in their juices for a while!

annsixty Mon 27-May-24 14:40:54

neine what a tangled web.
I hope it doesn’t cause you too much angst.
Could it mean the house comes to you?
If so take it with both hands, sign nothing, you could be signing it over to others, please be careful.
We have had a decent weekend weatherwise.
It rained heavily for a short time just before lunch today but Saturday was beautiful.
My GD was not “otherwise engaged “ so we went out for a lovely meal on Saturday evening.
It was a real treat. We even had dessert, naughty but nice.
I am on my own today, she is out with a friend, I am not sure where.
I think the rain earlier spoilt their plans.
I hope all under the weather at the moment improve , the carers get some time off and you all enjoy the rest of the day.

brook2704 Mon 27-May-24 14:13:35

Sorry to hear of all your troubles neine hope things can get resolved and begin to improve a bit for you soon
Good to see you here Doodle x

Doodle Mon 27-May-24 13:26:08

Sorry to hear of your worrying situation Naughtyneine . Hope the issue is resolved soon.
Love your pergola and the garden Maw looks so peaceful.
Hope it stays dry for you.
Dear Soops sorry you’ve had so many health troubles recently. What a lot you’ve been through.

A situation arose on May 8th that is ongoing and my head has been scrambled so big apologies for not posting. I will go back and catch up on all your news. I was on my way to Bristol to the ordination of our new Bishop ( only 2 people per parish were able to go) when I got a text from D2 effectivity saying that the terms of my Mothers will had not been executed and her house has not been transferred to my sister. She went onto say I would be hearing from their solicitors and I should take legal counsel. By the time we got to the cathedral I was feeling sick and shaky but confused as although I was an executor my sister took over all the paperwork. I could only think something has gone wrong with probate of my sisters will but as she has left everything to the 4 daughters I didn't see how it could concern me ( or be my fault). A friend that was with me suggested I check on the land registry and it turns out that house is still registered in my Mothers name and not my sister which it would appear could not be therefore left to the daughters. I didn't know what all this meant and was even more confused when a woman rang and said all I needed to do was sign a form. When I said I needed to find out more and would take advice she got quite threatening. I've passed it to the local solicitor and am meeting him tomorrow but in the meantime I have been told to sign nothing. I've had missed calls from SIL3 ( the one who told me not to use him as a messenger when I asked him to thank the D's for allowing me to come in to the chapel as my sister's coffin was being lowered). I had a voicemail from D3 asking me to call her as it was causing the D's distress. ( This was the hardest part of the whole thing so far as she was the supposed author of the letter telling me to...just die.. after my sister died). You ladies have shared my distress since I've been posting but it's been over 5 years since I saw my Grandchildren and the pain of that is immeasurable. My friends who have never understood my children's behaviour ( nor have I as until I met DOH we were all close) are now saying this is Karma. I am not proud of the fact that a very small part of me is glad they are now knowing what's it's like to be distressed. A very nasty FB post is the latest attempt to hurt me ( not the first time) but it's been ignored as everyone that knows me know the truth. This reads like something on a TV programme and I would never have believed that the 4 Convent educated children I raised would behave in such a manner. I used to jokingly say that all their good characteristics came from me and anything dodgy was inherited from their Father. He has been very influential in their behaviour towards me and I suspect has been in the background to this latest episode. We have been away this weekend to see family on the Wirral and I've managed outwardly to keep a lid on the ever rising feeling of panic but as soon as I'm on my own it's overwhelming.
