Scapa I know that restaurant well! It's very nice with the added bonus of lovely views over the golf course to the hills. Belated birthday greetings to your DH.

Soop's warm and welcoming kitchen for kindly folk.
(1001 Posts)Here we are again...all good pals and jolly good company.
Enjoy the celebration buffet. Please continue to make our kitchen a special meeting place.
A group hug awaits every Granspal.
and LOVE.
*corner your day trips, like mine appear to be to hospital appointments.
Sun is out here, perishingly cold and showers are forecast. That is a surprise.
You lovely lot are wonderfully understanding. I appreciate your kind comments.
We've a lot of disruption inside the house as the bathroom is being refurbished. Dust, noise, you name it, we've it on a daily basis. All in a good cause as I need safety features to be installed. The price of becoming elderly.
Also, as the time for the family gathering draws ever closer, I am searching for wee "mindings" (gifts) for every member of the family.
Mr Soop has asked if he could use the computer. Well, what does one say? So...at this point, I must bid you farewell.
With all good wishes to every one of our super special Kitcheners.
Hi folks, I have The Imp here about to cook him fish fingers, chips and spaghetti letters (his choice)
DD is having her hair done and will join DH and myself for dinner later, I expect they will sleepover 🤣
I am now going to read the last couple of pages to try and catch up with all your news.
No news on our renovations, everything crossed that we shall know more by 3/5 🤞🏻
Hi all, our en-suite is being done soop so I share your pain. MrJ is much better Charley 3 days about right, I’m coughing and snuffling instead, I’ve only just got rid of one cold, boomerangs come to mind.
A dry morning, washing done then a lazy afternoon as the rain fell.
Have a pleasant evening all.
Hello kitchen people.
We had decorators in again the other week so I know what it’s like!
It was my book group today, which was fun. We talked about biographies and ate lunch.
OH is out tonight at his Shooting Club AGM so I’m having an evening on my own. I hope the rest of you are having a good evening.
Good afternoon kitchen pals, I’ve just got DGD to bed after picking her up at 8 from her show rehearsals. Shes not looking in the slightest bit tired so I’m expecting a few trips back along the corridor to the lounge 🤣 ( we live in a bungalow)
I enjoyed coffee with my pal earlier, a good catch up and putting the world to rights
Good to hear DH is feeling better Jax, but goodness you don’t want it !
Hope your little chap enjoyed his dinner Gg13 😀
Glad to hear the hospital appointments have taken place and the antibiotics are working. I hope you get over your cold soon Jax. I have had the yellow eyes in the past Corner which caused DH much amusement.
Back to the dentist today, to have the stitches removed and discuss the next steps. Still no joy with the knee after a month of no contact except for a good tip from a medic friend. Look at the website for your local private hospitals and find where the consultant works. Phone the hospital and ask to speak to their medical secretary. I threw myself on the mercy of a lovely lady and within a few minutes, my email had been forwarded directly to the consultant. I wait with bated breath …
It was very frosty at 5am, so I dread walking up to the greenhouse. 🫣
Hope everyone has a good day.
Another beautiful day in sunny Kintyre.
Much activity in the bathroom! Drilling and banging. Progress is being made. Our builder/neighbour/good friend is a darling man.
I continue to search for three outstanding "mindings" to give to three adult grandsons. One collects hats. I have been looking at Scots piper's hats. Naturally, the one I would most like to purchase is a tad expensive.
Mr Soop is doing the weekly Tesco shop. When he returns, we shall have coffee with our friend.
I have pedalled to no place for thirty minutes. I shall now return to the gift search.
Wishing you all a pleasant and peaceful weekend. I look forward to the Friday evening glass of delicious red wine.

Hello Soop and everyone.I have missed you all.
We went to see our friends on Tuesday. They are both very stoic and trying to plod on for now.Its the fact that there is absolutely nothing can be done that’s so hard, but he is trying to be cheerful for the family. The local hospice are now involved and I’m sure will be a great help.
DS2 is coming tomorrow and DGS’s confirmation on Sunday so a busy weekend.
Sorry you got the dreaded cough and cold Jax feel better soon.
I hope to get a cat in the autumn Charleygirl. If I lived nearer I would certainly share it with you.🐈⬛
Take care everyone and
have a good evening.
Good afternoon kitcheners. I'm just home from dropping off dgs2 who has been with me most of the day. Dd dropped off both boys this morning because she had a physio appointment. I had already been to Aldi for food and a new toy for the boys. Then I ironed and tidied up the kitchen. You would think they were VIPs. Of course, they are. Then she picked up dgs1 and took him to hospital. His GP thought he had a hairline fracture of his leg. The hospital disagreed and said it's a sprain. He's a happy boy because they put a tubegrip on it. I planned on visiting mum but the timing isn't good so I'll go on Sunday. Tonight I'm making stovies for dinner to do tonight and tomorrow. Soop I hope you find your mindings. Have a good evening Kitcheners.
Have a lovely weekend Yia with your family, we’ve missed you too.
Good news for dgs1 Grandmabatty little hindrance to his activities and a sympathy vote!
Good luck with your knee Nannytopsy 🤞
My cough is annoying, I’m fed up with cough sweets, Indian delivery for dinner, I ordered a warmish curry for me, clear the tubes! MrJ is back on form which I’m pleased about, he is rarely ill.
It’s been cold again today and grey, so tedious.
I wish you all a pleasant evening.
Hi to all kitchen pals, just in now after a busy but enjoyable day
I’ve been helping DD2 with some tidying up - she had someone coming round to do a house valuation and just needed an extra pair of hands …..Then volunteering this afternoon and shopping after that. I’m going to open the wine very soon and sit and enjoy it
Hoping DGS1 is ok and back to his football practice soon grandmabatty
Hoping the new bathroom is going well soop and you get your mindings
Hoping you make some progress with your knee very soon nannytopsy
Yia 💐
Hope your cough is better soon Jax but good Mr J is much better
How’s the bathroom coming along?
The tiler has gone AWOL brook so MrJ will step in, it is his trade, but as he’s more or less retired we’d agreed to let someone else do the whole job. The plumber is mortified, I’m part philosophical and part ‘just want it done’!
C’est la vie.
Wine open here, cheers 🥂
It’s such a good job your DH can step in Jax - I’d be stressed out about that and not knowing what to do
I hope he’s got a very good reason!
Well done MrJax! As a professional, I’m guessing he would have been irritated if the other tiler hadn’t done as good a job as he could. IYSWIM!
I’m fed up if being cold - the heating is back on quite often at the moment and the cold wind puts me off gardening. At least the grass isn’t growing much 😊
Good evening kitchen pals, it’s all quiet in the kitchen tonight
I’ve been digging out some stuff in the garden this morning and then shopping this afternoon, so quite a busy day. All good though and the day has passed quickly
It’s cold here too nannytopsy heating is on still but hoping for better weather soon
Oh I meant to say I hope your DGS is enjoying his sleepover grandmabatty! And his popcorn 😉
Good evening Kitcheners. Yes Brook , he's had a good time. We sat watching TV munching popcorn together. He had his bath which he loves at my house because he has a shower at home or has to share with his brother. He's a delight. He practised his reading to me and was so proud he could read most of the words. I got fresh sand delivered for the sandpit and he played in that for a while. We looked at countries on the globe and he made dinosaurs out of play dough. I've had as good a time as he! It is colder than I hoped for the time of year. My heating is on too. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners.
Heating on here too from about 3 when MrJ, after six hours non stop called it a day and the rain started. I’ve bought some plants in from the unheated greenhouse in the hope they’ll germinate indoors.
Newspaper kept me quiet for a good while, I read it all the way through, now I’ve started one crossword.
What a delight Grandmabatty I remember those days, precious memories.
My cough is still very present, an unwanted guest!
Good evening dear Kitcheners. A flying visit before an early night, can hardly keep my eyes open. We’ve had quite a busy day, pottering around the house and garden. It’s so cold and it’s affecting the plants. I warm up doing my physio exercises, but as I have to follow them with some relaxation I soon cool down again. The heating is back on once more!
Sounds like you’ve been busy too Brook.
What a lovely day with DGS1 GrandmaBatty.
How annoying about the tiler Jax, thank goodness for MrJ stepping in.
Goodnight, TOYA ❤️
Awwww grandmabatty how lovely, special times together ❤️ I’ll be seeing my two tomorrow so looking forward to that and then I’m going to Cambridge in a fortnight to see the other two
I’m hoping for some warmer weather soon Blossoming so the plants can get growing
Hoping your cough gets better very soon Jax, take care
We’ve been watching Red Eye on the tv and quite enjoying it, watched 3 episodes so far
Flipping cold here too. Heating needed and you know I’m so grateful that we can turn up the thermostat and don’t need to be uncomfortable.
An inside faffing and gathering day today. Too damp and chilly to be outside. Had a quick lunch out and observed an assistant who was old enough to know better be very rude to the frail customer in front of me. He was both cutting and courteous in response. We’ll done sir.
Coughs are exhausting jax, look after yourself. It sounds as if mr j has recovered just in time
That sounded a wonderful day grandmab, precious for sure.
Hope the bathroom is nearly finished soop. We laugh - now - at our plumber removing the toilet at 8am and putting it back at 5pm when he renovated our bathroom. The toilet decorated the front garden for the day. In case you wondered, there was an alternative for us - the pub at the end of the road which served excellent coffee or a close by supermarket which was good for lunch.
.
Time to settle. Sleep well everyone.
Hello you lovely lot.
Welcome back Yia. Best healing vibes winging their way to all our poorly Kitcheners.
I am bogged down with preparations for the forthcoming family gathering. At the mo' we are tying up loose ends regarding menus and "mindings" and places we shall all gather in for a right royal catch-up.
The bathroom is halfway renovated. I cannot use the shower...yet, as we await the delivery of extra fixtures and fittings. All rather discombobulating. Thanks for the chuckle corner.
The beautiful weather continues. I have taken several stunning sunset photos. Sadly, the downloading of the images isn't cooperating and for my sanity's sake, I have decided to try again later.
About to ride the bike to no place. After which, I shall loll in my chair and watch snooker.
