Dear Soop... I'm so sorry..in trying to remember everybody I forgot the one person who is the reason we are all here. I hope you are feeling much better now and how lovely that Mr Soop is 'accepting' a 'little' help. In my opinion Sweetie Pie is a chancery...way to supercilious look on his face to be feral...probably just not keen on people...our 23 year old has always been an unfriendly cat and still is...if I go to stroke her she will have a good attempt at biting my hand or in her case a severe gumming!!!!!

‘Evening All’.

We’ve had a good day. “Busy doing nothing”. 🎵 🎶 In fact, Himself has done more than me today. Not that that’s difficult.

Decent day here, we finished sorting the side path and are both very pleased with the outcome. An emergency trip to a garden centre for more stones to fill gaps gave us the opportunity for a cuppa and yes, cake. We thought we deserved it smile.

Pleased to report Mr C has been fine since we returned. BP and heart rate perfect. Hindsight being wonderful I suspect he simply lost confidence in coping with far too much traffic on unfamiliar roads. He was much happier as co driver helping me navigate. He’s been pottering around here very happily and competently, we’ll plan differently for the next trip. Live and learn.

It’s good to hear from you neine, glad you are recovering but with my bossy head on please be sensible, pushing yourself too hard can be counter productive. I’m in awe of your ability to comment on everyone’s ‘doings’. No way will my head hold it all.

Relieved you were able to come back yia if sad it was necessary. Hope there are answers soon. Worrying for everyone. Please care for yourself as well as Your husband.

Life revolves around non existent appointments for us. Apparently my last blood test showed a result the GP didn’t understand, she said I was odd! Me? Never grin. I was to have another blood test next week, no appointments for the next month. I’ll get one eventually. I’m also supposed to be booking an appointment with spinal neurology, again none available. So frustrating. An even more frustrating wait for an eye hospital appointment I should have had a month ago. No point getting cross, but I sort of am. Mr C has been summoned to the surgery to discuss the outcome of a DEXA scan. He’s muttering ‘no more meds’. Suspect he may have little choice. Oh dear.

You’ll have been pleased and relieved to see sweetie pie, soop. He’s certainly a handsome cat.

Best be off. Eyes are closing already. Goodnight everyone. Sleep tight.

Hello everyone. The last couple of days have raced by. A neighbour had a birthday today so we had an afternoon tea here for her. We even cleaned and tidied the patio but it rained, so the dining room was used instead. All the food has gone now, except for some carrot birthday cake. The first lot of cream cheese icing was poured down the sink - even Mary Berry’s recipe went runny. I always buy extra cream cheese because it happens so often.
It was so cold I had to put the heating on.
Tomorrow a surveyor is coming to to the 5 yearly report on the church - the “Quinquennial”. We know the roof needs replacing but what else? Afterwards I have a GP phonecall then WI in the evening. I am aiming for an early night tonight!
Yiayia I am glad you got home safely and best wishes to your husband. Neine do take care!
Sleep tight everyone

You are all very special Gransnetters.

I shall be watching and preparing for the opening of our new kitchen.

Mr Soop has his scalp and thigh dressings changed twice weekly. He has more discomfort from the thigh, from which the skin graft was taken. He has an appointment with the dermatologist in the near future.

I shall be lurking...wink

Poor MrSoop is really going through it.

Blossoming Wed 12-Jun-24 12:33:26

It was sunny first thing this morning, it’s clouded over now. Does anyone else think it’s really cold? 13°according to the weather station but I’m freezing! Sat here in my Oodie and gloves. It’s June for heavens sake.

Jaxjacky Wed 12-Jun-24 12:48:07

15 here Blossoming my jumper is on, I claimed back a refund from Octopus yesterday, may have been premature!

Grandmabatty Wed 12-Jun-24 12:59:11

It's reached the dizzy heights of 12° here in central Scotland and feels much colder

HelterSkelter1 Wed 12-Jun-24 13:03:33

I was intending claiming back some gas payments this summer...but may be not!

Blossoming Wed 12-Jun-24 13:36:44

EDF refunded me a massive amount before Christmas. I didn’t want them to, they just did it! I’m going to be paying it back to them any time soon.

soop Wed 12-Jun-24 15:21:57

Just checking the status of our kitchen. In the meantime, I shall pedal my exercise bike to nowhere in particular. After which, I shall challenge Mr Soop to a game of Scrabble. grin

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 12-Jun-24 15:49:54

Hello kitchen people and especially Soop!

Am I going to return in an hour or so and find everyone scarpered?! Anyway, I’ve just made a 3-layer lemon and blackberry cake which should be a good addition to the new kitchen warming feast!

I had coffee with some friends this morning. Their son-in-law died in a tragic accident nearly three weeks ago but the funeral isn’t for another fortnight. There had to be a pm and an enquiry. My friends are devastated.

Have a good rest of the day. I think OH is making chicken curry for dinner.

soop Wed 12-Jun-24 15:59:45

Ladyleftfieldlover I cannot begin to imagine the pain that your friends are going through. A friend of ours in the village suffered a similar loss some time ago.

Thank you for baking a delicious cake for our forthcoming buffet.

I shall begin to organise the new kitchen's seating arrangement. The quiet corner will have the best view across the sea with the islands of the inner Hebrides as a backdrop.

soop Wed 12-Jun-24 16:01:04

It is a glorious day. Wall to wall sunshine. Mr Soop is re-potting some plants.

soop Wed 12-Jun-24 16:03:09

We will be meeting our Baggs later this month. It always a treat to spend time with her.

soop Wed 12-Jun-24 16:04:05

I pedalled the exercise bike for almost thirty minutes. after which, I was knackered. wink

soop Wed 12-Jun-24 16:04:43

Mr Soop appears to be readying himself for the game of Scrabble.

soop Wed 12-Jun-24 16:06:05

I shall prepare his coffee and my tea. Dictionaries at the ready. Just in case we image that a weird word (that springs to mind) is legitimate.

soop Wed 12-Jun-24 16:06:57

Any time soon...I shall open our new Kitchen. Are you ready?

soop Wed 12-Jun-24 16:07:06

Good!

soop Wed 12-Jun-24 16:07:47

Thank you all for your much appreciated company and support.

soop Wed 12-Jun-24 16:08:44

I shall see you in our new Kitchen forthwith...
