Same place used differently

I was litter picking on the beach and noticed different people using the beach for lots of different things. Me well I was walking the dog and collecting litter. People were walking and chatting. Some were digging for worms probably for fishing. Others were exercising and some looking for sea glass. I think it lovely that we are all so different and get such a lot from the same environment.

A similar experience here in the parks which is a place of work for some people, a place to volunteer clearing the way for summer boats on the river, a place to picnic, to play sport of many different kinds, a public right of way and a public footpath (different spaces), a place to enjoy music, the circus, fireworks, band concerts a place to rest. I love our parks.

Collecting sea glass is a big thing in the NE, especially at Seaham.
It’s quite famous for it.

Collecting seaweed for potato fertiliser a thing here. Foraging for seaweed to add to your daily dish 🀒 can't take to it myself.

I agree with you, Truffle and BigBertha- it's lovely to share your favourite places with others. Most days include me walking through the park adjacent to my house and I love to hear and see dog walkers, skateboarders, tennis players , playground activities and teenage flirting 😏.
Our beach features kite flyers, sketchers and ( strictly for the exhibitionists) group yoga.

I love that we all enjoy the beach in our own ways. Whatever brings us happiness there is always accepted. As long as it is legal.
