I am again, a bit better than I was even this morning.

The post viral chest infection I've had started over six months ago, it was terrifying not being able to get air in it out of my lungs. I do hope your infection clears quickly. When you get that inability to breathe do please ring 111. As soon as you say you can't breathe you'll be put on the list waiting for an ambulance, which then hopefully means you'll get to see a specialist at the hospital rather than a numbskull GP who sounds like they're suffering from a hid complex. I was lucky DH could drive me to A and E quicker than waiting for an ambulance, but you really should be checked out by someone who knows their onions (and lungs). I've had a barrage treatments, and finally am getting better. You should be given blood tests, sputum tests etc to identify exactly what's wrong with you and therefore which sort of antibiotic is needed, not just a standard cheapo. Readings can change so quickly, we just never know.

I do hope you get the support you obviously need. I know how miserable I am, when I have a COPD flare up. 💐

Mine has been invaluable, whenever I have called 111 or an ambulance.
I have been able to provide my stats and heart rate, which speeded up the process.

I was thinking about one of those.
I have had lung xrays a while back, and my lungs were clear and oxygen levels excellent.

I wonder if that's still so?

You can buy an oximeter really cheaply on amazon. This will show you if you are getting enough oxygen. Is been brilliant for me!

I feel slightly better today again, but it feels like a long haul.

I have some things wrong even without the chest problems, so I need to factor those in, I suppose.

I'd love a top to toe check up, but no chance of that happening on the nhs.

Sorry you feel so poorly. It sounds as if your body really isn’t happy with something - I think you do need a check up from someone who can work out what’s going on.

As I get older, I find it takes longer for antibiotics to work when I’m ill, it may be ‘normal’ for you still to feel ill at this point. But worrying will make you feel worse.

It could be pneumonia as it was diagnosed by the hospital after a long term diagnosis of chest infection.

I have all the Covid symptoms but haven’t tested positive yet. Have had chest infection for 8 days and am immunosuppressed so rang Doctor as lungs have started crackling.
I am allergic to a lot of antibiotics but have been subscribed
another type. Check the antibiotics you are on as a common side effect is itchy rash on lower face and chest. I was told to stop tablets immediately if this happens so please take advice from a professional. The nurse said it is better to stop it in it’s tracks rather than end up in hospital.

Quaint rather than posh, I think, would be the word.
The place is like stepping back in time, with little bits and bobs of ornaments, and sprigs of flowers in tiny glass bottles.

At our age, my friends and I now have a birthday month MissA. A great excuse to celebrate with the odd little treat throughout the month.
