I’m not moaning and I have no intentions of discussing any other members of the RF but I find the heritage connection somewhat odd.

The Nigerian guy confirming H & M's acceptance of the invitation definitely uses the Royal titles, so I guess Nigeria feels honoured to have them visit?

Meghan is newsworthy - have you heard of the term clickbait? People who love to hate her just love to read about her - and then pull her apart. Therefore she's filmed, photographed and News agencies pay £$£$£ for the results - so your comment about her "hogging the cameras" is misleading.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are visiting Nigeria in May for talks on the Invictus Games. During their stay, Harry and Meghan are expected to take part in cultural activities and meet with service members and their families. The visit will take place after Harry's return trip to the UK, which Meghan isn't believed to be going on.

The trip to Nigeria be their first visit to the African country as a couple and it's place that holds a special place in Meghan's heart. In an episode of her podcast Archetypes, the former actress revealed she has Nigerian ancestry.

I think you might have got that wrong, fancythat, as I can’t imagine why the UK government would ask them to do anything. Further up the thread it says that ‘the government’ is using them, but I took that to mean the Nigerian government.

Why should 2 minor royals trundling around a country, even one that has ancestral links with one of them, attract a lot of press coverage in this country? They have received much more muted coverage recently. I think the press are as bored with them as most people in this country are.

What other countries may do is irrelevant.

We shall see.

Unfortunately, I think it will be widely publicised.
And if it isnt, there will be an "incident" to make it so.

I am fed up of reading about these two. They wanted to be out of the limelight so they left the country but have been in the limelight ever since. I just wish newspapers would stop reporting on so called celebrities and Harry and Meghan and get down to what is happening in the world. Also I am sick to death of Katie Price always being in the papers, bankrupt and yet being allowed to pay for cosmetic surgery, buy new cars and have never ending holidays. It is a slap in the face for people who watch every penny and do not owe anyone anything. Why are the judges letting her of so lightly, it would not happen to we normal people, we would have to sell everything to pay off our creditors if we were in that position. Same with Kates parents, the Middletons, they are bankrupt and still owe creditors money but they live in a massive mansion, how can this be allowed, surely they should be told to sell up and pay what they owe. It is a complete farce.

Of course it will get some press coverage as H&M always do - so what?

They have accepted an invitation to Nigeria where they will meet servicemen/women and be hosted at an array of cultural activities. Nigeria would like to host the Games in later years.

It won't be a royal trip because they are not working royals, but will satisfy her Markleship with plenty of flashing lightbulbs and Harry as arm-candy.

I can't for the life of me see how mentioning Catherine on a thread like this could be considered 'intrusion'. I'm fairly sure she's not sitting trawling through Gransnet!
