Harry and Meghan ‘royal’ tour of Nigeria.

No matter what the facts are this is going to be reported on as being an official royal tour. This tour will be fully publicised in the press and have a lot of coverage perhaps to the detriment of the rest of the royal family.

Comparisons could be made between ‘youthful’ and energetic H and M and the elderly ailing king and Catherine also ailing.

Surely this is a kick in the teeth to Charles and William. I think their titles need to be removed asap, as I don’t think that H and M will ever stop trading on the RF name that they no longer want to be associated with.

I didn't report Glorianny's post either. I would have said so if I had.

Rosie does have a point Glorianny.

I didn’t report your deleted post Glorianny , I would rather it had been left so people could read it.

Oh Glorianny how short is your memory? I've seen posts from you with regards to William and Catherine denigrating her personal achievements,, musing that William missed the memorial service for King Constantine because he was likely visiting his mistress when in fact he'd just had the devastating news of Catherine's cancer, saying that Catherine was determined to get William, accusing her of being a Stepford wife and so much more........ hardly the milk of human kindness in my opinion.

Personally * Glorianny* I have no feelings, either hostile or friendly, towards Meghan and have as little interest in her life as she would have in mine. What I don't like is my fellow gransnetters being called old hags.

Harry chose to leave the Royal family. His decision and many wouldn't have criticised him for that but did he have to burn his bridges on his way out.

I don't get cross with them either. I don't know them, or their family. I don't know what is reported accurately and what is not.
I think it is a shame they have felt the need to get away from the British press, although I don't blame them.
I don't understand why there is this need on this site to repeat the same things about them over and over again.

Luckygirl3 Tue 07-May-24 14:31:42

I don't get cross with them. I can see no reason to do so.

Harry has not "betrayed the country he was raised to serve." He has made a life choice on behalf of him and his family, as we are all free to do.

By this rule, all farmers' children should become farmers, because that is what they are raised to do. Sometimes they simply choose to do something else. And that is fine.

The royal life did not suit him and his family - so he chose out. And good luck to him. It is a thoroughly dysfunctional way of life.

I am neither for or against H & M, but they definitely manage to ruffle feathers.

A rift in any family is to me always sad.

I find it fascinating anyone gets ruffled by H&M.

I've read they've lied, some proven, not just media nonsense. However, I assume there are others in the RF who have lied (adultery generally involves lies). I've no idea, apart from the lies, if they are vile.

Storm in a teacup.

Just wondering what comprises an old hag? Not a phrase much used here. Witch ? 🧙

An old hag is an unpleasant, ugly old woman. Very insulting to use that expression.

I get cross with H and M because they have betrayed their families and Harry has betrayed the country he was raised to serve.

Anniebach Tue 07-May-24 14:10:15

Iam I get cross because they lie , when lies are told people get hurt
