Good Morning Everyone,
Just daylight and its dry here in brackley this morning .
Today , usual bus trip to Bicester , tempted with weather getting milder to wear more seasonal lighter garments .
Hopefully meet up with people I know before returning home for lunch and a nap followed by cycling on TV .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a bright warm, humid Colchester. The forecast storm hasn't reached here yet. 21° is forecast and back to 12 tomorrow.
A housework day here with a change of bedding and thorough dust removal.
We sent in our postal votes last week. We have Council elections and one for Police and Crime commissioner. We had no idea the 2nd one was happening until we received the voting slips.
Please vote if you can today.

Keep bumping people...GNHQ needs to do something about the SPAM.

Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s bright and breezy.
I have washing on.
I’m going to pop into town to collect some shoes and sandals and some fresh salad and bread.
This evening two friends are coming round to discuss a bit more about our trip to Andalusia in September. Flights and accommodation are all sorted. We need to look at trains and excursions. I’m not really such a pre planner but going with the flow!
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it isc10 °C.

GN has been swamped once again by scam posts, hence the bumping to knock them off the active list.

Susan, I do hope you are OK after your fall and that you are feeling a bit brighter, Mizuna. I didn't get time to respond yesterday, the day flew by.

I was delighted with my trip to the hairdresser yesterday. It's not often I come out and am satisfied with the styling, I usually want to wash it again.
I look as if I have had a full hair of highlights and it's actually my own hair.😄 I sent DD a selfie with the caption, Love the hair, shame about the face! When did I become so OLD ?

At last I have been given a date to start my new treatment. What a palaver, I was half an hour on the phone with the the company, who organise the injections. Initially I thought it was a scam call and was going to ignore it.
The lady was rather nippy to begin with, saying they had difficulty contacting me. I explained that I was already on their system, therefore they could have emailed me or phoned my landline. No that couldn't be done, as I was a new patient.
Later in the conversation, she said she would email me. However I hadn't given her my information, so how did she know it? Because she already had it on the system.
She was obviously reading from a script and I knocked her out of kilter her by asking so many questions.

She wanted to deliver the injections the day before First Communion, I politely declined. Far too busy). Boy was she persistent. They must be directly delivered to me or a named family member and stored in the middle shelf of the fridge, away from the sides, so a neighbour can't take them in!!

We eventually agreed on a date, then she totally surprised me, by saying she also had to organise a home visit by a nurse to check my health. I explained that with previous biologics, I had never needed a home visit, so why this time. Apparently the hospital have requested it. They are certainly thorough.
After giving the dates that I would be away on holiday, she offered me a date when I would be away!!🤣

However, I had finished yet. I have £1000 of unused and unsuitable injections sitting in my fridge and a box of sharps, that no-one wants to take responsibility for the disposal.
Politely explaining that her company were responsible, for they had managed that drug regime, she put me on hold for fifteen minutes to try and arrange the disposal!
I had nearly lost the will to live after being subjected to loud, jazzed up classical music.

In fact I am relieved that I will be able to enjoy my holiday and Dollie's First Communion, with feeling awful. It takes me weeks of feeling extremely grim, before my body gets used to them.

I wish you all a good day. DH and I are off out for lunch at a local Italian seafood restaurant. I have a voucher and I won £20 in the parish 200 club. There is such a thing as a free lunch. 🤣

Good morning from a dull and grey Black Country, where at least it is dry for now.

Postal vote done here, so no need to go to the Polling Station.

Covid Jab yesterday, so have a sore arm now.

Thursday walk this morning, then this afternoon start sorting out clothes to pack for our trip to Malaga on Sunday.

Have a lovely day everyone

Taichinan Thu 02-May-24 08:04:07

Gwood morning all, and it's a sunny one here on the Angus coast. With rain forecast for the next two days I'd better get a shift on and get a washing on ready to hang out when I get back from tai chi. No problem about it drying - that wind is still blowing strongly!
Yesterday was dire - rain and haar from beginning to end, and so cold I got my heated throw out again to wrap round myself in the evening.
Mizuna please do apply for the Repair Shop - they have such interesting things on these days, and your old typewriter sounds as if it has an exotic backstory.
Fish 'n chips by the pool sounds wonderful to me Bluesapphire! Enjoy your trip today as well.
Susan sorry about your tumble - I hope it hurt your pride more than anything else!
Now off I go to round up some washing before heading down to tai chi. Enjoy your day everyone and stay cosy if you're under the cloud today x

Morning all from a soggy West Oxfordshire. I was woken at 5 am by a tremendous thunder and lightning storm.
It is my granddaughter’s 8th birthday today. Unbelievable.
OH and I are going out for lunch today and then the cinema to see ‘Civil War’.
I am feeling extremely low this morning. My two sons have had a massive falling out. Elder son told me all about it. I then had a WI committee meeting, where it was difficult to concentrate! Then I was rung up by younger son as I was trying to book a hotel in Helsinki for me and daughter.
This morning I am feeling so overwhelmed and sad.

Good morning from foggy and damp South Lanarkshire.

It was quite a productive day yesterday, got lots done, bumped into several people while I was out so lots of chat. Daft dug had a great run around in the park in the afternoon sunshine.

Dental check up and hygienist this morning then DH and I are going on a garden centre crawl. A couple of pots which didn’t survive the winter need to be replaced.

Good wishes to all who are under par and especially those coping with illness or sorrow.

Have the best day possible everyone.

We’ve got DGS here just now, sometime later today they’ll be a swap over as DGD is staying tonight

Good morning from Malta where the high is expected to feel like 26°C today.

Enjoyed my mid week day off yesterday. Today is a long day as DD3 stays late at school.

In haste as I need my wits about me with these two little chaps!

Good day to all.☀️

Gingster Thu 02-May-24 07:11:48

Good morning all and it’s bright and calm here, looking out to sea here in Suffolk.
Yesterday was such a glorious day, teashirts on and parasol up in the garden. Today is forecast a mixed bag.

Sofa bed didn’t arrive yesterday but is due this morning.🤞.

Dh strimmed all around our rather large garden, which has made it all look tidier. The lawn isn’t too bad so it will have to be left until our sit upon mower is repaired and we’re up here next. The rabbits will keep it down for us.

Bonnybanks enjoy your trip on the train .
Mizuna, you should indeed apply to The Repair Shop to have that typewriter looked at. A fascinating story to go with it.

Take care all and enjoy the day.🌸

Greyduster Thu 02-May-24 07:11:22

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a grey but dry South Yorkshire. Yesterday was brighter than it started out weather wise. Hope today will be too.
Our writing group yesterday was very jolly. A member we haven’t seen for some time joined us again which was lovely. GS rang me yesterday evening to tell me how his driving lesson had gone. He’s very keen now he’s sorted out what happens with the feet! We’ve all been there!
I’m out with the walking group this morning but one of the walk leaders rang yesterday to tell me that there’s some sort of televised race going on at the woods, so parking might be difficult and best to come early. I don’t like to go anywhere early these days!
Have the best day you can, folks.

Grandmabatty Thu 02-May-24 07:10:31

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and gradually brightening up. There's still a bit of a haar. Susan I hope you are not too sore. Georgesgran 💐
Yesterday I was out in the sunshine weeding and generally tidying up the garden. I managed to get two washes out too. Unfortunately I've done something to my back and had to rest it in the afternoon. The plans for birthday gift buying were in abeyance.
Today I'm visiting my friend's partner for coffee. It's the first time I will have seen him for a couple of months. Apart from that, I have no plans. I might attempt to do a bit more in the garden. My drive is very weedy and I like ordering. Have a good day all.

Sar53 Thu 02-May-24 07:02:12

Good morning from a bright start here on the Essex coast. We had a huge storm during the night with thunder and lightning.
Lots to do today before our trip to Norfolk tomorrow. DH's rugby team (under 10's) are on tour over the weekend. All parents, siblings and lots of grandparents are going along. We are staying in a caravan park in Caister. Here's hoping it doesn't rain all weekend.
I'm still coughing and wheezing, I wish it would go away.
Thinking of all with sadness and hoping you all find some 🌞 today xx

monk08 Thu 02-May-24 07:00:26

Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Yesterday's trip to doctors for DH did not go well, he has been put on more tablets and an appointment with the diabetic nurse has been made.
Today just a trip to Aldi see what the new offers are.
GM we also postal vote.
Susan hope you are not to bruised after your fall.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, thoughts with our missing posters.☀️

Bonnybanko Thu 02-May-24 06:59:02

Good morning all from a very windy but dry day here on the east coast of Fife
My flags are out in support of not only my favourite party and the success it’s had overnight but because I’m going on the train the first time since my stroke to stay with my dd, my gds and her 2 hairy girls you’ll who I mean

Have a good day my friends it’s going to be a fun filled few days for me

GrannyGravy13 Thu 02-May-24 06:55:53

Morning all, the thunder will ke me in the night but I managed to get back to sleep. It is a grey sky now, not sure what the forecast is.

DH has decided he needs new clothes so we are off to either Chelmsford for John Lewis or Bluewater which has a bigger John Lewis along with multiple menswear shops. It is going to be stressful wherever we end up…

Have a good day everyone 🙋‍♀️

Grammaretto Thu 02-May-24 06:49:13

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Foggy and damp.

Yesterday it was beautiful, sunny and warm. I did a little gardening, some knitting, pottery and cooking but mostly I enjoyed soaking up the sunshine from my garden seat and chatting putting the world to rights with my df.
I want more days like that.

Yoga this morning.

Your cruise sounds so glamorous Bluesapphire !
I hope you're not too bruised Susan

I am also thinking of those with health worries.
