Seems a bit harsh? All that way too. He landed in the UK a few hours ago. Without Meghan and the children.

From the Telegraph just now:

“ The Duke of Sussex will not meet the King this week, the Telegraph can reveal.

Prince Harry, 39, landed in London on Tuesday morning and had made no secret of his hopes to see his father during his visit.

But a spokesperson for the Duke said: “In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not The Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme.

“The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”

I just think if the King doesn't ’find time’ to see his son then Harry might well just think ‘sod it’ next time/if he comes over.

I know Harry bad mouthed the family in his book ‘Spare’ but still …

What do you think?

These military style jackets/coats with brass buttons are everywhere at the moment, from Boden to Monsoon. They look both smart, and casual with jeans.

And ironically she wore the identical jade green coat that she did when she visited Balmoral as a guest of Charles!
A Claire Mischevani number for those who are interested. grin

It’s a lovely colour, but it would look so much better without the top two rows of buttons, particularly the ones at shoulder height.

But there was a member of the Royal Family there.
I know. I thought the implication was that Harry was no longer a member of the Royal Family

^Considering the world wide recognition of the good the Invictus Games have done one of them should have had the grace to attend^.
Rishi's wife was there. Almost royalty!

As I already said, one member of the Royal Family was there.
🤔

Others had prior engagements which had probably been organised at least 18 months in advance.

Lovely to see the Spencers there too.

Iam anger for lies and cruel words and actions

But how do those actions affect you personally? I don't get it at all.

Quite.

Charles adultery? No affect to any of us, likely to Harry.
Harry walking behind Diana? No affect to us, likely to Harry.
Camilla's image transformation? No affect to us.

Much complaining just affected Harry and the King. Not us.

Funny how those who support Harry become targets as well. The Spencers simply turned up for a service that really should have been recognised by our RF but wasn't because of a family spat. That's petty.

How does the parable fit in this instance? In the parable, Jesus speaks of God The Father. Jesus wishes for the sinners to be forgiven by The Father.

Pope Francis: " The figure of the Father in the parable reveals the heart of God. He is the Merciful Father who, in Jesus, loves us beyond measure, always awaits our conversion every time we make mistakes; he awaits our return when we turn away from him thinking, we can do without him; he is always ready to open his arms no matter what happened. As the father of the Gospel, God also continues to consider us his children, even when we get lost, and comes to us with tenderness when we return to him. He addresses us so kindly when we believe we are right. The errors we commit, even if bad, do not wear out the fidelity of his love. In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we can always start out anew: He welcomes us, gives us the dignity of being his children and tells us: “Go ahead! Be at peace! Rise, go ahead!

How could the King and Harry be depicted in the parable?

Dickens I can understand re the late Queen, i would find being a royalist impossible if Andrew and Sarah were in line, so not a devoted royalist . When there is mention here of a president I tend to think ‘not another election’ plus our choices
of PM’s,

Dickens I too am a Labour supporter and a royalist

OK!

Some appear to think that 'Lefties' are by default anti-Monarchy - or, indeed, that there's a definite dividing line between Royalists and Republicans.

I'm torn between the two. The late Queen having been a 'backdrop' to most of my life, has been a bit like watching a tree in your garden grow from a sapling to a sturdy oak - whatever the weather, it's always there which is 'comforting' though of course it makes no logical sense.

don’t understand the anger those ‘sone posters ‘ have towards this man and his wife. Humanity?

Humanity? That's a laugh. He had precious little humanity for his old school house mistress that he cruelly and publicly mocked for the way she walked. He had even less humanity for his first lover when he described their sexual encounter is such detail that she was easily identified within hours of his book's publication. He showed zero humanity towards his fellow serving soldiers, when he bragged about keeping score of how many he'd killed on active duty, despite knowing he'd put a target on their backs. He's a walking disaster.

Uncle Charles hardly looks dapper either.

Starting to resemble his dad.

None of them in the first flush of youth, of course.

Royalty and the Aristocracy don't by default have impeccable taste - nor necessarily the figure for it.

I find it comforting in a way that they can, like the rest of us, look quite unexciting in their dress.

Royalists and Republicans. Labour and Conservative, always
threads agreeing and disagreeing

My late ex was a Labour supporter - but also a staunch Royalist. Of course, there are some who would say one can't be both. My best friend - who is very much of the 'set' one would expect to be a Royalist - isn't.

I think the lines are blurred a bit.

Have you never read any of the angry threads about Charles, Camilla, or any other members of the RF.
The main difference seems to be the concern that Harry would be collecting information for a future episode of his memoirs.
Are all estranged families supposed to forgive and forget and allow further opportunities?
Humanity?

The parable of the prodigal isn't about the priority of family, it's about God's love for us, His children.

And forgiveness.

The son said sorry, then the dad forgave him.
As God forgives us, [no matter what we have done], if we tell Him we are truly sorry.
