Seems a bit harsh? All that way too. He landed in the UK a few hours ago. Without Meghan and the children.

From the Telegraph just now:

“ The Duke of Sussex will not meet the King this week, the Telegraph can reveal.

Prince Harry, 39, landed in London on Tuesday morning and had made no secret of his hopes to see his father during his visit.

But a spokesperson for the Duke said: “In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not The Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme.

“The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”

I just think if the King doesn't ’find time’ to see his son then Harry might well just think ‘sod it’ next time/if he comes over.

I know Harry bad mouthed the family in his book ‘Spare’ but still …

What do you think?

Whatever Charles may, or may not, have done, everything pales into insignificance compared with what Harry and Meghan have done. To begin with, anything Charles may have done is pure speculation, but everything Harry and Meghan have done is on record. Given the position of the family in the world ie they are known world wide so they can’t hide or retreat into insignificance, then what Harry and Meghan have done is unbelievably disgraceful. I’m not surprised that Charles is not meeting Harry because he is totally untrustworthy. No one from Charles’s team has said anything about him meeting Harry, it is purely Harry’s team that have put out all this speculation, with no doubt the objective of pressurising Charles into meeting with Harry. Well done to Charles for resisting this unneeded pressure. Stress is known to be particularly bad for seriously ill people and it’s the very last thing that Charles needs as he works towards his recovery.

Iam i don’t think Megan is wicked, a compulsive liar yes.

King Charles will be protected and advised by 'his people' .

Harry will write about any meeting after his father's death.

They just can't trust Harry. That's about all there is to it.

Charles, Kate and family are going through an extremely stressful time.

They really don't need to have any more stress at this time.

The last visit of Harry to see his father was announced, photographers at the airport in America when he was leaving,
when arrived, when his car was driven to Clarence House, when
he left Clarence House. Followed by an interview with an
American tv company shortly after his return to America.

No other member of the family gave an interview

So far as I’m aware, neither H or the wicked M have discussed the health of the king. Harry had an existing interview after he saw his father. He was asked and declined to discuss the king’s health.

Estrangement is dreadful for all parties involved. On the estrangement threads here, posters are often advised that ‘ both sides’ carry some responsibility for the sad situation.

And who made the announcement to start all the speculation about a meeting?

A 'spokesperson' for Harry.

fancythat

I assume they think he cant be trusted.

Does anyone think he can be trusted?

no he cannot be trusted and he will try to weedle info about Kate and KC, for his next book. Best to avoid H at all costs. He will likely be wearing a secreted recording device

That sounds much more like it! Another barney, followed by a flounce is not what KC needs right now and if "olive branches" were needed, a meeting with his grandchildren would be a good starting point. Some sort of contrition over the appalling accusations Harry (and M) made -proven to be blatantly untrue- the "marriage in the garden", the racist slur naming names (oops!), that claim that KC never played with H and W on their bikes, the wicked witch leaking to the press, that Archie wasn't to be called Prince because he is mixed race, etc

On a ‘royal’ documentary on Saturday night, the presenter stated that Charles was being treated for prostate cancer.

That was very wrong. His type of cancer has never been disclosed, the fact that it was discovered whilst prostate issues were being treated doesn’t mean that is ‘it’.

RosiesMaw Wed 08-May-24 07:16:19

worried about losing his hair …..
Well Harry can't talk! Anyway KC doesn't look as if he is losing his hair in any of the recent pics.
We have NO reliable evidence that his cancer is "serious" (what cancer isn't?) other than online gossip, but as for his years are numbered - well he is 75

People have short memory's as to what C&C done to Harrys mum ..
Times have not changed since Henry V111 just names ..

True, I also think Diana was badly treated ........ but Camilla has well and truly risen to the occasion, and Charles must be very grateful for the way in which she took on the challenge, which hasn't been an easy one.

Calendargirl Wed 08-May-24 07:03:14

I hope they can facetime

Well, they can do that all the time, if they want to.

Doesn’t have to be when Harry is in the UK.

Perhaps it’s a regular weekly occurrence?

hmm

Joseann Wed 08-May-24 07:01:16

The sad thing is, that all this, "Will he, Won't he" business, will carry on for another generation beyond Charles because it appears William is even more anti Harry. The little cousins will have never met, so I guess we have to wait until 50 years hence for closure on all this. (And none of us will live to see it!)

Grammaretto Wed 08-May-24 06:59:47

According to "what the papers say" on the BBC today, Harry wants to see his dad but Charles isn't keen.

The king must not like the thought of the media circus which surrounds Harry. I hope they can facetime.

there is always an hour to be found if they both wish it

That’s just it, probably only one of them wishes it.

I expect the King’s advisers have visions of Harry giving an interview later, saying how his father seemed, tired maybe, perhaps having lost weight, not very robust, worried about losing his hair…..

Wallis Simpson lived in France, died in France, was unknown
to her late husband family,

Mollygo Wed 08-May-24 03:15:49

Even so the treatment of Wallis (apologies for the misspelling) in her old age was unnecessary
Do any families welcome and care for the persons who they see as breaking up their family, or contributing to the death of their child/father?
It hasn’t happened in any families I know of.

NotSpaghetti Wed 08-May-24 01:06:16

I have no idea as to the truth of this but do we even know if this was expected to be just a loving son visiting his dad or a "I need to know about xyz" type conversation? Or even "I'm free on Thursday at 2.25pm"

Who knows!

nanna8 Wed 08-May-24 01:04:17

When you have cancer you don’t need any extra stress in your life and also the thought that whatever you are going through and whatever you say might be fed to the press. I wouldn’t meet him, either. If it is true what the online media are saying it is a very bad cancer and his years are limited.

maddyone Tue 07-May-24 23:38:44

I’m married to mine. He’s really very good.

Callistemon21 Tue 07-May-24 22:35:38

Oh, mine are common or garden servants 😁

RosiesMaw Tue 07-May-24 22:27:23

Urmstongran

I prefer the term ‘staff’. Calli it sounds less demeaning.
🤣

The RF don’t have “servants “, they have “staff”
