You're right Annie. You have to have experienced being lied about and betrayed by a close family member you love, to even begin to understand what being estranged is like.
sometimes estrangement is less painful than trying to keep a very difficult relationship alive absolutely maddy and less painful than taking the risk that it may happen all over again.
How much more painful must it have been for H's family to have all of this played out in public with interviews and a book, just to make money.
Perhaps H never considered the impact his and M's revelations would have on his family. Maybe he thought once the dust settled nothing would have really changed.
It's a shame if that is the case that he never took a moment to consider that his father, brother and wider family despite loving him still, would no longer be able to trust him and his wife enough to want them in their lives.
